The famous Mengjia Night Market and Huaxi Street Night Market in Taipei are at the entrance of the hotel, which is a good choice for your Taipei travel accommodation.
„Room was surprisingly big as well as the bed. I appreciate that they give bottles of water everyday. The location is pretty nice - when you go out the hotel (literally the front entrance), there is a night market already. There is also a convenience store beside the hotel. Bus stations are nearby, as well as entrance to a train station. Breakfast buffet is good, there is a selection of food and drinks and some vary per day. The only thing for me in the room is that only a curtain separates the bathroom/toilet from the bedroom; there is no door. It wasn’t bad especially if you don’t mind the setup, it is just unusual. But if you are rooming with someone who you are not really close with, maybe you’ll get weirded out since there is some lack of privacy with just a curtain. All in all, it was a pretty good experience and can definitely book again.”

If you’re carrying big and heavy luggage, suggest to exit from K6 (have escalator) and walk over to the hotel, will take about 5 mins to walk on ground level. There are many food options within walking distance and ximending is about 10 mins walk too. The staff are friendly and there are even free washing machine and dryers available for use. The room is comfortable for 2 pax and toilet has bidet. Suggest to install a rack in the shower area as there is no space to put my shower amenities. Otherwise, I will be back to stay next time!”

„We stayed at Ximen Citizen Hotel for two nights. The location is convenient (but there som hotels are very near to Ximen mrt) and the room itself was clean, though not very spacious. They also offer free coffee, which was nice, but there were no free snacks as shown in the room photos, which was a bit disappointing. One thing that wasn’t clearly mentioned during booking is that the hotel has two separate buildings. I was expecting to be placed in the other building, so it was a surprise when we were assigned to a different one. It was fine overall, but the building we stayed in looked quite old and felt a bit creepy at times. Another downside is the lack of a proper lobby or waiting area. Our flight home was late in the evening, and we planned to wait at the hotel, but there were no chairs available. We asked if we could wait in the other building’s lobby, but while there were chairs, the space was very small and not comfortable at all. Overall, the hotel is acceptable for a short stay because of its cleanliness and location, but I hope they can improve their facilities—especially the lobby and waiting area—to make guests feel more comfortable.”

„It appears to be a renovated old hotel. The exterior features a Western style that resonates with the old-fashioned interior design, expressing a sense of classic luxury. I assume it must have been quite popular when it first opened. The room’s interior preserves its elegant, traditional style, and the maintenance is impressively well done. The hot spring bathtub easily deserves a 10/10, and the quality of the hot spring water is guaranteed. That said, old buildings inevitably come with certain drawbacks. For example, the sewage system can be relatively loud, which may be an issue for guests who require a very quiet environment to sleep. Fortunately, the soundproofing was decent—at least in my room. Overall, considering the reasonable price, there is little to complain about. Although the location is not particularly close to the station, it is near the fantastic Thermal Valley and many scenic hiking routes, which is definitely a plus. 🙂”

- Location: Very convenient. Right in front of Taipei main station. Accessible to convenient stores, fruit stalls, walkable distance to Ximending. A bit difficult to find at first as Google map leads the way to use the back side of the elevator. The hotel is on the 5th floor of the brick colour building. Enter through the entrance next to the family mart then use the elevator on the most end. - Room: No window in my room but that's fine, as we stay in the hotel only at night. If you plan to spend lots of your time in the room, then this place is not for you. The room is not sound proof. So you can hear people walking in the lobby or talking/laughing from the room next door. - Guest type: I noticed that most of the guests are asian. - Hygiene: if you are a germaphobic, then you might feel gross with their carpet. But overall, the toilet, shower, and sink are clean. Bed sheets are also ok. I think what downgrades the room the most is the old carpet. We put a make up room sign everyday before we left and our room got cleaned, towels being replaced everyday. - Service: staffs know what they are doing.

Besides the bed been hard like rock but it actually doesn’t hurt my back. I don’t have that ‘wake up needed to stretch’ but it’s not good for side sleeper. Well, that been said, you’ll be tired after long day so it’s fine. I love the night staff, I didn’t get his name but you could chit chat with him with there’s nobody around. Ask for suggestions etc. the room is clean and not dusty. The toilet has ventilator so it’s a plus point for poop smell. They’re strict with late check out. I was charged with 300NT (11:15am) check out time 11am. so bear in mind. Don’t have to be mad about it. I should’ve passed the keys to the counter first and do a last check of the room after. I’ve chatted with others and we all have different room different themes!! I’ve got a all pink. I am able to fit 2 cabin size + 1 large luggage. The space is big enough for me and my mom. Toilet has a tub too!!! Good for soaking our tired feet. The have a basement with tea eggs, cereal, games, massage chairs, washing machine, dining/gathering area.

Hotel location is very convenient, just behind Mitsukoshi Department and across Taipei Main Station. Very good for catching early morning train as us. Look out for the lift lobby, is just beyond the boba tea shop, lobby is 5th level. Plenty of food options around the area.

This hotel is very close to Taipei Main Station. The environment is clean and tidy, and although the facilities are basic, there's a sofa, which is acceptable for the price. The best part is the abundance of food options nearby, excellent transportation links, and it's just a few minutes from the MRT, making it very convenient and great for exploring. I originally booked a windowless room, but the hotel upgraded me to a room with a window, which made for an even more comfortable stay. I'll definitely choose this hotel again in the future.

I only stayed here for one night, but overall it was a surprisingly nice experience. Personnel is really nice and welcoming, the room is well equipped, the bed is comfortable. The metro station and Shillin Night Market is really close, and everything else you might need. A minor issue is that I stayed here in March and it was quite chilly in the room, but overall great value for money!

The hotel is right in front of the Taipei Main Station, which is connected to Red and Blue metro line and along with the HSR and Airport Express Line. Hotel is okay, only had 1 floor with all the rooms and lobby, the elevator just slow since if has mulitple hotels within the building. The toilet in our room is kind of see through, but if you don't mind this everything is ok.

Jak dotąd wszystko w porządku, pokój był wystarczająco wygodny. Dobra okolica, zaledwie 3 minuty spacerem od nocnego targu Shillin i 6 minut do stacji metra. Problemem jest brak windy w naszym pokoju, a tymczasem dostaliśmy 3 duże bagaże 😕 Proszę poinformować, jeśli do pokoju nie ma windy, dziękujemy.

The room was totally different from the pictures on Internet. It was very old decoration and the bathroom was very poorly equipped (no curtain for the bath so we would have water everywhere after shower). There was also mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. Breakfast was very poor with bread from 7-11 probably and margarine, not even butter. The restaurant was also very different from the pictures. Summary: the location is great I must say, but the hotel is not worth the price, don’t be fooled by the pictures!!

The front desk staff are helpful in general, but the cleanliness of the room still needs big improvement. I found screw on the floor, then something like ‘ash’ on the coffee table. The door, if not closed super tightly, will remain open without notice.
