Located on Blackwater Canyon south rim, the lodge at Blackwater Falls State Park offers 54 comfortable rooms with sweeping views of the densely forested gorge below. Built in the 1950s, this lodge predates its sister lodge at Canaan Valley Resort State Park, about 20 minutes away, and has a smaller, quieter atmosphere. All lodge rooms have been extensively renovated, but the mid-century architecture conveys a sense of history and blends in with the natural surroundings. The view of the Blackwater Canyon from the back patio is almost as breathtaking as the parks famous waterfalls.

The kitchen is fully stocked for group cooking needs, and has a new easy to clean LVT wood appearance floor. We installed a new hot tub and firepit area in July 2021. The newly upgraded gas fireplace is ready to roll and provide a lovely central space for your group. Keeping everything clean and minimal so there is space to enjoy your trip has been our goal from the beginning, and it has been well received! For Spring / Summer / Autumn guests, we have a great deck area for entertaining, cooking and eating, and the hot tub and fire pit are right in the mix. We are walking distance to Timberline Mountain and a short drive to Canaan Valley Resort so you can easily tap into their events schedule. You are able to hike into the Dolly Sods, play tennis, fish, golf, and enjoy the outdoors without ever driving more than 3 minutes. You are a short walk away from The Owl Market which boasts wonderful pastries and coffee as well as a beer and wine selection and ice cream service. A short scenic drive and you can enjoy the little towns of Davis and Thomas, as well as Black Water Falls. For winter guests, we are located at the base of the mountain, so while you are walking distance to the lodge and lifts, you do not need 4WD to access our property! This is a great bonus in bad weather when the steep roads around Timberline Mountain can make access difficult. We are less than 1000 feet from the lift (0.17 miles) We are local home owners, and live and work at Timberline Mountain. "Slopeside Condos at Timberline" come stay at our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo. We are a few miles from Canaan Valley Resort and a 15-20 minute drive to Davis, Blackwater Falls, and Thomas. If you are feeling up for an adventure, you can hike to Dolly Sods right from the condo or walk to the Mountain Owl for lunch and ice cream. Other amenities such as the Canaan Valley Spa and Wellness Center within walking distance or a short drive. Afterwards, you will enjoy the views by the gas fireplace! The condo is on the 3rd floor with vaulted ceilings, a balcony and outdoor gas grill. Nicely updated with copper counter tops, new appliances, and jacuzzi tub. Each night at 10 PM a siren will go off in town indicating that the curfew is in effect for the youngsters in our community. Large house with a porch that wraps completely around the house! A beautiful view from all sides. We love the outdoors and we bet you do too. The yard has several Apple trees which our kids love to climb and they also love to watch the deer come and eat in the evenings. There is also an outdoor firepit for smores during evening gatherings. The inside is great for large groups as well. The kitchen, living and dining areas are all open concept and there is a dining room table which can seat 10.
