We enjoyed 5 great nights at the Hotel Bellavista, which is centrally located within easy walking distance from the ferries. The front desk staff were incredibly helping, as we were hiking in the area and need advice on transportation. We loved the terrace in the afternoons, watching the ferries and partaking in the best aperaol spritzes in Menaggio! The bar staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely hardworking. Everyone at the hotel was very professional and accommodating. Our room overlooking the lake, was large and well adorned. Hotel Bellavista is a gem in the lovely town of Menaggio!!

The location is excellent, the first row by the lake, the surrounding restaurants are full of wine, the fly in the ointment is that there is no refrigerator in the room. It is suitable for self-driving, but the blue paid parking space is not easy to find during the peak hours of the holiday. Not to mention the white free one. When you are 400 meters away from the hotel, you will pay attention and there will be a parking space. The hotel does not have a valet parking service. Please inform the license plate number when you check in, otherwise it will fall into the forbidden zone and the ticket will be severe.

I went to Italy with my family in July and our second stop was Lake Como. We stayed at Hotel Lago di como and my first impressions were just ok. First, it was hard to find it wouldn't register in our GPS and when called the hotel for more clarification on where it was we couldn't understand the person on the line because there was slight language barrier, but we eventually firgured it out we just picked a spot close to the hotel and eventually we found it. At first I didnt really like the area where it was it didn't seem i guess friendly, but I quickly changed my mind once I saw the lake which was close by the hotel. The hotel itself is on a bit of a hill, and there isn't much in the way of parking (you have to search for a spot) which can be out of the way. With all that said I have to say this hotel is one of my favourites. The staff is nice and really helpful. The rooms were nice and clean, and great view. The bathroom is nice I enjoyed the high pressure shower and hot water. Good service. Overall lots of room and comfortable.The bed was comfortable no complaints. And once you wonder around the area you quickly see that its nice, friendly, and a clean place. There is also a restuarant attached we dined there once and they actually had really good food. I loved the breakfast, good selection. So, overall this was definitley a good hotel and spot to visit in Lake Como,and I would stay there again.

Felt the need to leave a review, which is rare but because of the amount of research I did prior to our trip to Lake Como and reading the many positive reviews of this hotel, my only hope is that this helps someone spending the same time and energy before their travels. You’ll read within other reviews that the view and location are incredible, this is true, but that’s about all the good that is offered. While the rooms are old, the beds are pretty uncomfortable and the bathrooms resemble a motel, the worst offering (or lack of offering) is the customer service. The reception does not answer the phone, ever. If you get them to answer buy a lottery ticket. One evening we departed for dinner in Bellagio and noticed that the last ferry returning back to the hotel was right before 8pm, much too early. We inquired about how to get back to the hotel after our meal and the receptionist informed us that we could take the ferry to a neighboring town (2 miles away) and to call the hotel when we were on the way and they would arrange a taxi, perfect plan if the hotel answers the phone. Lake Como travel is not easy, the ferry schedules are inconsistent and you aren’t able to easily access the best parts without a vehicle, the hotel made zero effort to assist us in transportation needs and when we would inquire about direction, recommendations, etc there was hardly any given. It became so bad that we inquired about a concierge, but the receptionist informed us that she was there to serve as such…. Lacking qualifications to say the least. We paid $350/night, we understand this is likely a steal of a deal given the hotels views and location and that’s fair, but for this hotel to be classified as a four-star property makes me question the validity of the system and if you’re still reading this review, pay the extra $100-150/night and stay somewhere else for the service alone. You’ll be glad you did.

Stayed here on a recent motorcycle trip. As we were travelling on motorbikes we make a point of contacting the hotels in advance to check that the restaurant on site will be open. We had a confirmation email advising that the restaurant would be open. On check in we were advised that the bar and restaurant was closed, however there is a bar opposite and a good restaurant a short walk down the road. The hotel is easy to find on a main road and we were able to park our motorcycles in the underground garage. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and well appointed. The advice about the restaurant down the road was very good and the we had great meal there. However on our return to the hotel we were asked to pay our bill as the manager/owner wanted a lay in the next morning. This meant we had to drag our fellow travellers out of bed to pay as they had returned to the hotel ahead of us. The next morning, all of the other guests were settling their bills as they checked out.

On the plus side, Hotel Bazzoni has a wonderful location, a very good view from the room balconies over Lake Como, and a terraced garden going up the hill with several swimming pools and bars. Included breakfast and a buffet supper which was good. The bar on the ground floor is also stunning. On the minus side, ***y things about the hotel are wanting. When we arrived, we were told it was fully booked and our reservation had been transferred to the sister (and much cheaper) hotel Britannia down the road. We were taken down to see it, but the room was dank and nasty, after a hard argument they agreed to reinstate us in Bazzoni. We were also chased on the final day to check out promptly - our Trip.com booking was for 11am check out but we got a call at 10.30 telling us this had been moved forward to 10am and we needed to check out promptly as they had ***y arrivals that day. The room also lacked water, coffee/tea-making facilities and slippers, and everything extra is chargable - including 5 EUR for an additional keycard (non-refundable...) and 2 EUR for a jug of water at supper. On balance, I would avoid this hotel in future - but if you chose it, come ready to argue for what you already paid for.

Extremely beautiful property on banks of lake como Open the window and gasp at the magnificent view of lake como From the room , you can see other towns in the distance Good size rooms but bathroom is tiny Which I guess is standard for Europe Extremely professional and courteous staff , very young staff and very helpful , anytime of the day , they go out of the way to help you even if your requests are not standard , the concierge ( sorry forgot his name ) was very helpful in arranging and booking lunch and dinner at various restaurants Very good spread at the breakfast table The girl who seats you and the staff at the breakfast area are very warm and always attentive
