Shangri-La Far Eastern Tainan was a very grand and pleasant hotel. The lobby had a beautiful Christmas tree and they let us check in early. There were 38 floors which was impressive and the room was big and bright. The beds were comfy and the TV had YouTube and Netflix with many other channels. However, there was some dust on the cupboards and the sofa bed needed money to be turned into a bed. There were many food places near the hotel as well. But go to Anping, Garden night market or Da Tung night market need to take taxi. Overall, Shangri-La Far Eastern Tainan was enjoyable for my family.

Hotel is old. Can be seen through the renovations and wall. The room is spacious and clean. Toilet ceiling is a bit too low though not sure why. Very quiet hotel so it gets a bit spooky at night. Location is surrounded around a few ******s. For it's price I can't ask for more, but I don't think I want to stay here again.

I stayed in a double room with 2 medium beds that can be combined into a large bed. It is located opposite the Tainan City Hall. It is in the Phase 5 rezoning area. There are many hotels nearby, and transportation into the city is not very convenient unless you drive yourself. Leave the station. The expressway is very far away. It is at the end of Tainan City. There is no view on the 3rd to 7th floors. The low windows are only as high as the home next door. The facilities in the room are worse than ordinary motels. There is no hot water in the shower and it is only 40 degrees. The warm water on the left and right side reflected in the hotel and the only answer was that the constant temperature could not be adjusted, and there were very few breakfast items. I often go back to Tainan and have stayed at Yuanqi Shangri-La, Dayi Landis, Taiwan Sugar Evergreen, Tianxia Hotel, Holiday Motel, etc... .With the price in Taibang (I bought it for 2999 at the travel show), I was very disappointed after staying. It cannot be compared with other high-end hotels and can only be regarded as a new business hotel. The only advantage is: there is no increase in price during holidays, but you have to book a room. .

Somer Hotel is a gem of a place to stay in Tainan. I stayed in two different rooms during my stay, one being the tatami room and one Western hotel style. Both were spacious, clean, and really comfortable. My favorite part was the snack and drink tray provided and refilled each night so that guests can try delicious ********* food. The breakfast provided was varied and delicious. You do have to reserve the time you want to eat, but that prevents long lines and crowding during the meal. The lounge where breakfast is served is also a nice place to hang out or do work outside of the hotel room. Other amenities like wifi and the bathroom products provided were great. Service was really good and the staff was extremely welcoming and helped us to call a taxi when we needed one. The hotel is in a great location and is easily walkable to historical landmark Chikan Tower and numerous restaurants and markets. I would definitely recommend Somer Hotel as a home base for exploring or even somewhere to take naps and relax while experiencing all the amazing food that Tainan has to offer.

I booked a double room and upgraded it to triple room 908. The room has a historical feel but the space is comfortable. The bedding is rough and the pillows are too hard. The double bed is directly facing the air-conditioning vent and is not comfortable, and the single bed is a bit shaky. I heard that the poor sound insulation really affected my sleep in the middle of the night. I kept hearing the low hum of machines and the nearby temple started playing music at seven in the morning, so I couldn't have a good rest. In addition, there are enough sockets in the room which are commendable! The resting space for afternoon tea provided by the hotel is very good. It's a pity that I didn't come back in time to experience late night snacks after dining out. However, the breakfast was quite delicious and had a variety of choices. The freshly made omelettes and carrot cakes were very special.

The location of the homestay happened to be in the alley near Chisun Tower. According to the owner of the homestay, it was a Xiucai residence in ancient times. Because of the 2-day and 1-night trip on business trip, it was very hurried. I couldn't take all the beauty and snacks in Tainan. However, the most impressive thing is that the price of the homestay is very cheap.
