Hotel Boruca Tamarindo

Great location, no issues with parking, comfy room with a good shower and aircon. Outside areas were lovely and well cared for, pool was great. Wildlife in the trees to back. Breakfasts were really good and staff were welcoming and professional. We had a great stay. We loved Tabu bar 5 mins away on the beach and Oveja restaurant just across the road. Nearby supermarket

The Hotel Boruca is an older hotel, but very well maintained. The rooms and premises were clean. A highlight of our stay was the excellent and friendly service of the manager/owner Marascio, the breakfast waitress, and the waiters in the restaurant. Speaking of food, the breakfasts were delicious--and oh how wonderful the food was in the restaurant. The hotel is located close to a grocery store, banks, and the beach. We enjoyed our stay there and would recommend the Hotel Boruca to others.

The people managing the property are fantastic. Very friendly and quite helpful! The included breakfast is very good. The pool is a great way to get away from the busy beach. The property is a bit older but it’s well cared for. If you don’t like this property then you probably won’t like any property even if you spend way more money. Thanks for our enjoyable stay!!

This hotel has so much potential!! The air conditioning was not working in the original tiny stuffy bedroom with a really narrow bathroom you could barely move in. They came in to see if they could get it going but to no avail. Thank goodness the nice man who checked me in moved me to a much more spacious accommodation (which at the price I paid should I have received in the first place!) The room was really great and had all the amenities and more but the overall cleanliness was poor. The shower stone wall and floors and tap fixtures looked like they have never been scrubbed and cleaned ever. I was concerned about my feet so wire my sandals. The cooking and eating utensils had food stuck to them and the countertop kitchen appliances were . I never saw housekeeping nor was my room attended to. They wanted me to go back to the hot room overlooking the busy street but I refused as it was unbearabley hot. The lady (I presume owner or manger) allowed me to stay the second room but you could tell she was very unhappy about it. It was a bigger and better accommodation but again, for the price I paid I think it was fair. I will say the breakfast was good and the young man who served me both mornings was very friendly and sweet. He made the stay much better by his kindness. They are lucky to have him on their staff.

Terrible place to stay. DO NOT STAY HERE! It is honestly a safety concern. The bathroom of our room stopped working so maintenance came to fix it and they let us change rooms. This morning we had all of our belongings. We securely lock the rooms before every time we left. The next morning when we were leaving we realized FOUR LAPTOPS WERE MISSING AND CASH. Nothing was out in the open, they were all secured in our backpacks. We were furious and very scared and we talked to the owners. We NEVER took our laptops outside of our room, and yet they were yelling at us that they didn't do it, and that their employees never would. It sounded like they were defending themselves, instead of trying to help us. We told them to question their employees... because who else?.. and instead of sayin yes they just would yell at us at how they have the best employees who would never. You never know. There is NO cameras (why would you not have cameras at a hotel) or proper security to show the police it was them, but keep in mind the property is very small so you can see almost anything from the front desk. They said such rude things to us. He said "I don't think you locked your door properly," "I don't know who you brought around here," and "I don't know maybe you took your laptop to the beach and now you are blaming us," and worst "My laptop is always at the front desk. Why didn't someone steal mine?" Worst experience in my life and scary too especially as 4 women. We know the staff of the hotel stole from us, because our doors were ALWAYS locked but unfortunately we have no proof.
