"We went as two couples and stayed at the Pema the same evening as we landed. Unfortunately, there was no table available for us for dinner. We spoke to our agent and we were then given the best table in the place (which was being used until that very time by the great and the good). Not only that, we were looked after by Geeta, their F&B manager, who was super excellent and served us with the most delicious food over the two days we were there. The Pema also offers a lovely gift box with some nice goodies in it. The room is very clean and neat, with too quality furnishings. The staff are very nice and polite. We really enjoyed our stay at the Pema. I also found a copy of a very useful book at the hotel that I have put up photos of."

"Excellent Hotel, can't explain what was memorable stayed at the hotel. The rooms was clean and spacious also. Food was delicious, being a Bengali I forgot that I was at BHUTAN. Location is good, walkable distance from the handicrafts market. Mrs. Sonam Wangmo maneger are very sweet and helpful. She is very very beautiful and memorable lady. Date of stay : 25th Julay to 27th Julay 2024"

"They have really fantastic views on dzong from most of the rooms. We were on low season, so got one of the best rooms. Also they have a pretty garden. Breakfast was ok (they prepared it specially for us). But in the rooms they have tea pots and some variety of tea and coffee, and nice working wifi. Location was a little bit far from the city center, but we were with a car, so no problems."

"This hotel was a quick stopover for us after arrival in Bhutan prior to our trip started. It was a great opportunity for us to acclimatize to the country. The hotel is in complete isolation, beautiful forest with a hiking trail nearby with the most amazing views. A bonus is a calisthenic park/outdoor gym just at the bottom of the hill. Beautiful design and aesthetic that is organic modern. Rooms are comfortable and meals are delicious. Staff are friendly, discrete and accommodating. It was peaceful and very tranquil. Oh and they make a mean ginger tea!!! Word has it the King of Bhutan stayed here when he quarantined/isolated after traveling outside of Bhutan during covid. So this property is fit for a king! Would recommend and we’re happy to stay at a local owned luxury hotel."

"This is the most comfortable and very good accommodation one can hope to stay in Thimphu . The facilities in the rooms are excellent . They have modern heating facilities for winter . The air conditioning system is excellent . The hospitality extended by the staff is of excellent quality. . The owner herself supervises everything. The common facilities are very good . The breakfast and dinner are of top quality . They offer Indian , continental and Mediterranean and local dishes . The hotel is specially good if you are travelling with a kid / toddler/ baby . They take care of the toddler’s need too ."

"This hotel wasn't cheap, costing 500 RMB per night. However, it could only be called a guesthouse. The doors were key-operated, but the front desk didn't give us keys, instead providing a keycard, which was completely useless since the room's electricity didn't require a keycard. So how were we supposed to lock the room from the outside? We didn't lock it. All the empty room doors could be opened freely. Luckily, Bhutan is safe. Oh well, we couldn't lock the doors. The room was very cold, but the electric blanket and hairdryer were broken. The front desk staff's English was extremely poor, and we encountered many communication problems while eating, so we eventually gave up trying to discuss the facilities with them. However, the staff were very friendly, and the food in the restaurant was acceptable. In short, this hotel is designed to appease tour groups. Individual travelers/independent travelers, please do not choose this hotel."
