Lovely hotel and lovely staff, perfect for the evening to relax and recharge

My mate and I tried a ‘Locals Lazy spa day’ for our joint birthdays yesterday. I couldn’t recommend this hotel more. The afternoon tea was incredible- pastry chef Derek really outdid himself- and the Swedish back massage by masseuse Nikki was firm but fabulous! Service in the restaurant was swift and friendly too. Simply put, why would you go anywhere else in Torquay?

Wonderful British experience. Stones throw away from beautiful coastal path with stunning views of surrounding natural bays. Great to scout from on high for activities to fill the remainder of the day with. I went kayaking, and would’ve got a power boat had I the time.

The hotel is just out of Torquay and in a lovely situation. Easy walk down to beach or into town. We had a see view room (134) which was big, comfy bed and OK facilities. The food is excellent with a buffet breakfast. We had our evening meals at the hotel and the choice was good and the food well prepared (always served on a warm plate). The service was excellent. We used the hydro pools on one occasion - they were not very big and the showers and changing rooms needed some attention - but overall good enough to spend an hour or so relaxing. There was evening entertainment most nights for about an hour. The hotel is used by coach tours (understandably) so if you want a quiet intimate dining experience you won't get it here. The hotel is in a great location to be able to explore the local area which we did.

The position of the hotel, overlooking the sea is gorgeous, with a very scenic coastal walk into the town. Bedroom was beautifully appointed and sparkling clean. The highlight of our stay was the delicious meals cooked with lovely, fresh ingredients and beautifully presented with an excellent choice of dishes for dinner. Great ambience in the restaurant and very helpful staff. We really enjoyed our stay and will look forward to a return visit.

The service was fabulous - from reception desk through to restaurant and bar. The room was fine but the bathroom needed a major makeover, probably the worst bathroom I have experienced for a very long time. It is also worth noting that google maps and car GPS struggle with the location.

This hotel has amazing sea views from the terrace, some hotel rooms (well worth the upgrade!) and the restaurant. The breakfast was excellent, with amazing choice, it was cooked perfectly.

This hotel has beautiful views over the bay. I stayed 4 nights on a dinner, bed & Breakfast deal. The menu is changed daily and the food was lovely, there is also a less formal menu in the bar. There is nightly entertainment and I have to say it was enjoyable. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable. Parking is opposite the hotel and along the road, but the hotel is located at the end of the road that leads to a footpath. I walked into Torquay to take a boat trip, it took less than 15 minutes, it’s about 3/4 mile but it was all downhill!! Made the mistake of walking back and there are a couple of steep hills!! My next trip into town was walk in and taxi back (costs around £5….but well worth it!) the lady on reception was really helpful giving me recommended taxi numbers and advice on where to be picked up as Torquay has major roadworks and 4-way temp traffic lights! I’ve had a lovely relaxing break and will definitely return.

Very nice food, staff & service. Lovely sea views from all public areas. Bed not firm enough, but slept ok.
