Hotel Villa Paola

Villa Paola surpassed our expectations. The hospitality was 5 star all the way - Extremely warm and friendly but at the same time, discreet. The personal touches were so thoughtful and appreciated. Personal notes in our room with home made treats, a beautiful reusable bag. We could see so much love and care in every aspect of the hotel. The way our room was cleaned, how the stunning gardens are kept so beautifully, the delicious food and the sincere will for guests to have the best experience at the hotel. Everything is home made and home grown produce from the gardens. There are no single use plastics on site. The outside patio overlooks the bay and marina and the deepest blue ocean. The pool has the same gorgeous outlook and the scent of jasmine fills the air outside. Our highlights: dinner in the restaurant, the breakfast omlette with juicy fresh Cherry tomato, fresh orange juice. The Villa Paola spritz and the Calabrian olives at apperitivo and : the staff. All of them. We felt so welcome and can’t wait to visit again. Elegant, charming, luxurious and a delight to stay. Wow, in a word. We stumbled across villa Paola in 2023 and just knew it was perfect for our wedding. We booked the hotel for exclusive use in April for our 24 guests. Although we had our wedding here ( I’d highly recommend) we also stayed prior and after the celebrations and I have to say Deborah and the team were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The food is out of this world, fresh and traditional with a Villa Paola twist. Service and presentation along with wine recommendations are some of the best we have had the pleasure of experiencing. The rooms were cleaned daily and to a high standard, fresh water and mini bar replenishments daily along with complimentary robes and slippers. The gardens were beautifully manicured were necessary and it was also lovely to see the villa with some traditional rustic areas too. I would highly recommend a glass of wine as the sun sets over the town at golden hour! Location is something that needs to be considered as it is a short walk to the town (not well lit in the evenings) however the Villa were more than happy to arrange taxis for guests in our party that required them. Most were happy to walk off the exquisite selection of foods served throughout our stay! We will definitely return as frequent visitors to Tropea. Thank you for being a key part to our stress free wedding and stay.

We came upon this magical place while scouring the internet for somewhere we would always remember. Villa Paola is just that place. With its breathtaking views and beautifully manicured property, it’s hard to believe that a place like this truly exists. The rooms are spacious and immaculate. The amenities are plentiful and to perfection. We must compliment the staff who could not possibly be more attentive and gracious, looking to be of assistance in any and every way possible. The purpose of this trip was to reconnect with family we had not seen in over 50 years. The staff welcomed them to visit and even served them complimentary coffee and delicious deserts! The villa is located a short distance from the center of town; walkable but you may want to ask for a taxi. It’s perfect if you don’t want to be in the center of all the activity. We departed feeling as if we had just left paradise and anxious to plan our next trip back!

Amazing meal at villa paolo. Can’t believe there’s such a quality place just outside Tropea. We’ll definitely be going again. We’ve been coming to Tropea for years and only just discovered this place. It’s amazing so we’ll be visiting every time we come to Tropea, so special

The infinity pool, strategically positioned on the hillside, offers a perfect blend of relaxation and excitement with its built-in jacuzzi. And one of the most outstanding aspects of this hotel is the abundance of inviting spaces where you can sit and truly embrace the serene views and peacefulness of rural life. Not only is the staff at this hotel friendly and welcoming, but they are also incredibly informative and helpful. They go above and beyond to ensure that your stay is memorable and enjoyable. Little gestures, like leaving sweets and thoughtful notes in your room, make you feel truly valued as a guest. Moreover, they show great patience and willingness to teach you some basic Italian phrases, making you feel more connected to the local culture. We were there in early June to celebrate my birthday. We had a very warm welcome when we walked in to this gorgeous Villa. It's a very exclusive hotel where only has 12 bedrooms. You can see the beautiful Tropea town from the hotel and the sunset was incredible. Every corner of this 16 century Villa is just stunning. All the staff were very polite and professional. We had an amazing dinner in the terrace while sun was setting. You have to see it yourself to really appreciate the beauty of this place. We'd definitely love to visit the Villa again when we are in Tropea again

What a marvelous surprise to stay at this exquisite jewel of a hotel. I knew it would be lovely but I never expected the refinement, elegance and absolute beauty of the hotel and the area. My reception was so warm, welcoming and professional. Our bedroom with a view of the sea was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The meals were excellent and the men and women working in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner were especially lovely and knowledgeable. Tropea,is a marvelous town with many sites of great interest. The cathedral was especially fascinating architecturally. I,took,a,boat trip.along the coast for,four,hours and found that experience to be a bit disappointing. Thank you Anna and the entire staff for making our stays on,enjoyable.

This hotel is housed in a former monastery adjacent to a church, 15 minutes walking from Tropea’s old town. It is on a plateau as is the old town, this means the view of the sea is great. The old monastic building has been refurbished with only 12 rooms which makes it more a big house than an hotel. Breakfast and lunch is served on a terrace facing the sea. Dinner is served inside in a rather modern dining room with a somehow sophisticated menu. The terraced gardens are an interesting feature. The pool is not large but enough to refresh and build on one of the lower terraces. Sun deck is small. AC and internet works very well, staff is very kind, parking is free just on the side of the hotel. We had the suite, consisting of a living room, large closet, bedroom, terrace with sun beds, sofa and reading chairs. writing desk area, compar**ented bathroom and sauna. The room was extremely comfortable. Linen bed sheets were very appreciated, something you may find only in luxury Italian hotels. My son had a doble room of average comfortable size with a nice bathroom and view. If you plan to visit Tropea this is the best hotel option.
