"Pub Bistro Meals - you know the type - pub classics ! Lasagne Salad and Chips / Fish Chips and salad ( or in my case I asked for vegetables ) the Lasagne (I’m told) was ‘tasty’ and the chips and salad looked ok .. the fish was HUGE .. crunchy batter looked great.. then .. the veg .. good grief .. firstly it was hard to see ,in the very dim light , what was actually on the plate .. turns out two of the veg were potato and eggplant - both ‘baked’ to a very robust char .. they were black .. I can’t tell you what the third veg was because I wasn’t game to try it - possibly carrot .. we will never know .. the plate was awash with grease - the veg had the deep fryer treatment not a baking tray and that good looking piece of fish was as dry as a long hot summer once I cracked through the thick heavy batter .. very disappointing when each of these meals were $25 each. Yep. Won’t be heading back anytime soon. You’ll find better meals at the Horse and Jockey Hotel, The Warwick RSL ( can be hit and miss ) or the Condamine Sports Club"

"I have stayed at The criterion many times in the last 8 years but I believe this will be the last time I will ever stay at the hotel again. The music was so loud I could hear it through my noise cancelling headphones. My entire room, including my bed was shaking and vibrating from the noise. I’ve never experienced anything like it. I spoke to the staff/manager on duty And it’s pretty much too bad so sad it’s a Pub you’re staying in. They don’t care about their hotel accommodation guests. The price is gone up to $120 per night for a double room which no longer includes breakfast. The country Rose Hotel up the road will be where I’ll be staying from now on! same price peaceful night sleep."

"Zarezerwowanie na 53 na Victoria było super łatwe i otrzymaliśmy tekst, aby powiedzieć, że pokój był gotowy, gdy prowadziliśmy tutaj z Hervey Bay. Wszedłem i to było po prostu wow, wow, wow. Byłyśmy całkowicie wybuchnięci. Dekoracja była wyjątkowa z każdym meblem i osprzętem domowym wybranym specjalnie do komplementów. Wszystko było pomyślane w dół do pięknej pościeli, kąpieli, dobrze zaopatrzonych urządzeń kuchni i wspaniałej szklanej basenu łazienki! "Be very wary of booking a "special deal" with this establishment. My husband & l booked a few days (mid week) here last year and paid up fully over $700, as part of the "special deal". Unfortunately, we both contracted Covid and a few days prior to our booking we had to cancel those dates. We asked to postpone our booking to later in the year. The manager/owner refused to speak to either of us on the telephone and a desk clerk was not allowed to put through our calls to her, she would only communicate through emails. We were very disappointed as we were looking forward to our visit. The establishment has kept over $700 of our money and refused to offer a "rain check" or returned our money. As senior citizens this is quite a lot of money to lose through no fault of our own. I wish to warn others, especially those in our age group, to avoid paying up front as this establishment is unforgiving."
