This is the best place to stay in fez. The decor is better than any photo can show. The food is amazing and we had the greatest server, Mohammed. While we usually stay simple with our cocktails when traveling through Morocco we had mojitos here and they were fantastic. Definitely try the cous cous and chicken pastille. Yum yum

Our stay at Riad Adarissa exceeded our expectations in every way. We selected it based on the reviews and its location in the Medina. The property itself is authentic old world Morroco and the hospitality was out of this world. They arranged a driver to meet us at the airport who took us to the walls of the Medina. Haddou, our host at the Riad, met us there and helped us navigate the winding streets to the property where we met Jean Claude the owner. Our guest room was very unique, nothing like the many chain hotels we stay in. But that’s exactly what we were looking for…an authentic Morrocan experience. What really made this stay exceptional was the service. We felt like guests in Jean Claude’s home and enjoyed many conversations with him over dinner. He couldn’t have been more hospitable. Haddou is an absolute gem and made our stay one we will remember forever. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to make our stay more enjoyable. His wife, Hanane, a trained chef, prepared our dinner all four nights of our stay. The food was so delicious and the hospitality so delightful we decided to enjoy all our dinners at the Riad. Our stay ended with Haddou leading us out of the Medina and making sure we were in a taxi headed to the train station. I find in my travel experiences that it’s the people that make a stay memorable and in this case unforgettable.

Quelle découverte ce Riad complètement remis à neuf mélangeant modernité et style Marocain de très bon goût en pleine Médina! Accueil super sympa de la part de Marjorie et Pascal. Également de très bon conseil quant à la visite de Fès et de sa Médina avant notre arrivée et pendant notre séjour et l'organisation de celle-ci. Chambres très confortables et salle-de-bain top. Très peut de bruit émanant de la Médina. On y dort bien. Repas du soir et petit-déjeuner avec vue sur la Médina du haut de la terrasse. Super couscous. Top encore une fois. En principe pas de consommation d'alcool dans la Médina mais il y a toujours le magasin Carrefour dans la nouvelle ville. Nous remercions Marjorie et Pascal pour leur convivialité, leur amabilité et leur engouement à nous recevoir. Et a nous dépanner à retrouver nos motos pour la suite de notre périple au Maroc. The service staff are very enthusiastic, the accommodation environment is very beautiful, the Arabian style, the bathroom is very big! As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we provided dessert and tea. The breakfast was exquisite. One day we got up late and the clerk prepared breakfast for us. Except that the location is not easy to find, you can contact the front desk at the approximate address and ask them to come out to pick you up. This is the case in the old city of Marrakech. There are so many small roads, so you can get used to it.

We were pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Volubilis. We hesitated to book the hotel because of some bad reviews about not having hot water and the staff being unfriendly (especially to Asians). But we decided to book anyways because of its location and quite affordable price. We were arriving to Fez at around 5pm, and we were told staying at the Medina wouldn't be worth it. Since we were catching a flight the next morning, we thought it would be more convenient to stay in the new city. So, despite some of the bad reviews, we decided to spend the night at Hotel Volubilis. Its location turned out to be great. It's right at the center and by the main avenue. There are lots of places to eat at walking distance and there are several Carrefours closeby also at walking distance. The staff was nice and they welcomed us well and took our request for a taxi to the airport in the morning. So, we have no complaints about the staff. Our room was big with a terrace. The room was old but clean. The terrace had no table or chairs, but it was okay. The bathroom was also big and we had no issues with the hot water. We showered at arrival and in the morning and water was hot and with pressure. The thing that we missed the most in the room was a fridge. Other than that, all good and acceptable. Though we agree with the other comments saying that this is not a 4-star hotel by ”global” standards.

The main issue with this hotel is the location - it is a bit far from old fes and the markets. Also, while it is next to a mall - as noted by others - who cares, the food places there are mediocre fast-food places. Our rooms (we had two) were clean and quiet - if also dated. Service in the hotel was attentive and friendly. We didn't have dinner or lunch here (there is a restauarant on site as well as a small cafe next to the swimming pool), but the breakfast buffet was vast and largely very tasty. The pool was very large and a great place to relax at the end of the day. Prices were very resaonable (mid-range). Except for the location, I would recommend this hotel for those who want a quiet, comfortable, hotel at a good cost.

You need ears here, for you have a night-long trouble with incessantly blowing dogs, room and bathroom dirt, asbestos stood still there, shower was stuck, beds tight and quite hard. Dinner was very limited and there was almost nothing more when we arrived. Unpleasant neon lighting in the dining room. Broad at breakfast was old and tough. Skybar was close and there was not said why. Four stars are on the website and beautiful photos' - But you're gonna get over this hotel.

The Moroccan-style renovated family hotel is very distinctive and the pattern on the architectural structure is exquisitely carved. The central courtyard used for gatherings and dining, where the roof top above can be opened to reduce the heat or can be closed to keep warm. Rooms are arranged around the courtyard which reminds me of Hui-style architectures. I also see the shadow of Chinese architecture in some Moroccan architecture but the difference is that in addition to wood, they use stone and mosaic as building materials to form a colourful visual effect as well.

I stayed there for 2 days. My room was ready and clean. The bed was comfy. Breakfast is good buffet with many items. I liked it. They have a big garden with a nice pool. I took a fresh local bear in this garden and a good chicken tajine with vegetables and olives.

Our family of five (including 3 young adult children) had an incredible stay at this beautiful ryad located in the heard of the Medina. Michel, the owner, along with his staff gave us a warm welcome and provided attentive service during our entire two night stay. This is a beautifully renovated ryad with a tasteful and eclectic decorating style. The calming courtyard has birds chirping, stained glass windows, beautiful fountain/dipping pool, and plenty of places to sit and relax. Each room is uniquely decorated, has plenty of room, and is very comfortable. Breakfasts each morning were great - pastries, yogurt, fruit and eggs. We highly recommend having at least one dinner at Ryad Salama as we did- beautifully prepared and delicious. Overall, we felt this was one of the best stays we have had on our many vacations and highly recommend Ryad Salama.
