"This was a nice guest room above a lively bar/restaurant. Ensuite bathroom, comfy bed, smart TV (need your own account if you want to watch Netflix, iPlayer, etc), and WiFi. Town centre and Yeovil Park are within walking distance (luckily the roadworks had pedestrian access). If you're exploring the wider Somerset, a car is required. No breakfast provided sadly (I went to Morrisons for cooked breakfast and Lidl for continental, both ~5 minutes away), but they have good lunch/evening food which they can take up to your room."

"Visited here for the first time unsure of what to expect but after some nice home cooked type food, the pub was pretty much empty on a Saturday night, although understand it is in a quiet area and the pub isn’t well lit up to road users. Service was friendly, however when customers ask for meals without certain things this should be taken seriously not just a case of ‘the chef would have put it on anyway’, although this wasn’t the case for us some people have very serious allergies and besides, we are paying customers after all and there wasn’t even any attempt of offering to amend what we’d actually asked for, portions are small for the price and unfortunately there was also no check back, and our table wasn’t cleared even though there was only one other table in the pub. Not the best, not the worst but I don’t think we would return in a hurry."

"Due to a breakdown in my marriage I have been placed here so I have warmth and shelter. I am severely disabled from a stroke last year and I am in a wheelchair although they do not have disabled rooms they adapted the room as best as they could to help make my life easier. I have been treated like more than just a customer and they are always up for a chat about anything. There is an Indian restaurant next door that is probably the best one I have been to and the service there is quick I give a hand to all the staff who work in there and if I could buy them all a beer I would. I was taken to hospital recently due to a fall and really damaging my back so when I came back I asked one of the guys there mohammed i believe is his name but I asked if he could check on me when he has time. Just due to the risk of me falling and not getting back up and he said that is fine with no problem I stayed in a travelodge before here and I asked if they could check in just knock the door and not one of them came. The staff at hawk house actually treat you like a person and not a number. I would recommend anyone to stay here. I am near a main road (A303) yet I don’t really hear it. And everyone who complains about it knows it is near a main road so they are listening for it. Yet the loudest noise I hear is the airbase nearby."

"The last time we were at Lanes was when we got married and held our reception there 4 years ago. That day was perfect in every way and we could not fault the service we received . Time has flown by and with Covid etc it has taken us this long to return . Shame on us ! We booked just the two of us to celebrate my birthday and what can we say . The service and food were superb . The staff were so welcoming , friendly and courteous. The food was truly delicious and presented beautifully . Just first class all round . The whole place has such a lovely ambience . We can not recommend highly enough . We will certainly not be leaving it this long again and plan to come next to one of their themed nights and book a room for the night . Many of our wedding party stayed at Lanes for our wedding and they all reported all their rooms were first class as was ours it was perfect . Thank you to everyone again for a wonderful evening ."
