For this trip to Zhangjiajie, we spent the first two nights enjoying a slow pace on the west side, then moved to the Guanzhi S B&B near the East Gate for the next two nights. This B&B positions itself as a boutique hotel, not just a regular guesthouse. From the moment you step in, you know it's something special – an artist's entrance, with an artistic atmosphere permeating every corner. The details are meticulously crafted. Many guests here are international tourists and discerning travelers who appreciate quality. It's no exaggeration to say this is the most thoughtful and attentive service I've ever experienced. 📍Location: 50 meters from the East Gate, 7-seater shuttle service provided The B&B is about 50 meters from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, making park access incredibly convenient. However, because it's so close to the scenic area, it's located in a restricted zone. ⚠️ You MUST use Didi (ride-hailing app) to get directly to the B&B's doorstep. Plus, the hotel offers a 7-seater shuttle service, so transportation is a breeze for families. It's also easy to find restaurants after leaving the park, as the area around the East Gate is full of eateries. 🛏️Bathtub King Room: Refined Down to the Details We stayed in a bathtub king room. The room isn't huge but is exquisite in every detail. The bedding is comfortable, and a relaxing soak in the tub at night washes away all the day's fatigue. If you need anything, just scan the QR code by the bed, and it'll be delivered in minutes – a godsend for busy parents! 👶Parents with Kids Rejoice! All These are Free! Forgot kids' toothbrushes, slippers, or shower gel? The B&B has it all; just ask the front desk, and they'll bring it to your room. There's also a 5 sqm kids' play area with a slide, building blocks, and a small rocking horse. Manxin was the third boutique hotel I chose for my trip to Hunan. It's located in a village nestled in the mountains. The owner leased nearly a hundred acres of land to create the idyllic farm he envisioned. Several two-story buildings are artfully scattered amidst rice paddies and lotus ponds. An infinity pool offers unparalleled views of the distant mountains. The rice seedlings have just been planted, and in a few months, one can truly experience the scene described by Xin Qiji: 'A bountiful harvest is spoken of amidst the fragrance of rice flowers, as the croaking of frogs fills the air.' **Environment:** The hotel's environment is exceptional. Surrounded by distant mountains, perched on a gentle slope, every room offers expansive views of lush greenery. The rice fields are close by, and at night, the sound of frogs fills the air. Each room boasts a large balcony. Sitting there, breathing in the fresh mountain air, sipping a cup of tea or coffee, time seems to slow down. **Hygiene:** The hotel's hygiene is top-notch. Despite being surrounded by farmland, there are surprisingly no mosquitoes or other insects in the rooms, which is quite rare. **Facilities:** As a meticulously crafted guesthouse, it offers all the amenities of a high-end hotel, especially the infinity pool with its unbeatable mountain views – truly an inspired touch. Of course, as a 'wild luxury' (my own definition) hotel, to encourage guests to truly reconnect with nature, the rooms intentionally lack televisions. This thoughtful decision is commendable! **Service:** Being far from the city, service is particularly important for guests. The hotel provides dedicated butlers who promptly address guests' questions and requests. Their efficiency is high, usually responding to guests almost immediately. The hotel offers complimentary airport/train station transfers, as well as unlimited complimentary transfers to the Zimu Pass (middle gate) of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which is incredibly helpful for guests. **In summary:** This is a uniquely positioned hotel. For travelers who love nature, appreciate peace and a slower pace, and have high standards for hotel quality, this hotel is definitely worth a short stay. **Final Suggestion:** Given its rural location, its own farmland, and the fact that it raises poultry and bees, the hotel should further leverage its unique advantages in terms of ingredients and cuisine. It could also appropriately guide local farmers to cultivate organic vegetables, fruits, and various eco-friendly produce, making a beneficial contribution to rural revitalization. I believe some guests would appreciate this.

A very unique and memorable stay in Zhangjiajie! We stayed 2 nights in the Morning Glow King Suite Bedroom. The highlight of this homestay is its cave concept. The reception area is huge, impressive, and beautifully designed, creating a real wow factor upon arrival. The property also features a cave restaurant where breakfast is served, and dinner can be arranged with advance booking. There is also a cosy cave lounge for guests to relax. Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. The facilities were well maintained and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Location is excellent. The homestay is hidden behind the famous theatre performance venue but only a short walk to the main street, making it convenient while remaining quiet. Highly recommended for travellers looking for a unique accommodation experience in Zhangjiajie. The cave setting alone makes it worth staying here.

We selected this hotel because of the good reviews and the roof terrace and it did not disappoint. Fantastic 3-night stay, friendly staff, excellent location and quiet. Room was great - comfortable with all amenities. We would particularly like to thank John (Wong) and all his team/staff for the brilliant attention and service, arranging for park tickets, logistics and picking us up from the railway station. We were able to chat with them via WeChat at all times and they responded very quickly with advice and information. After each long day of park visits, we spent the evenings up in the rooftop terrace accompanied by the beautiful cats and wonderful night-time views of the surrounding mountains. If we ever return to Zhangjiajie, we will definitely book a room at this hotel again.

A hotel worth revisiting: The location is excellent and quiet, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. In particular, the front desk service was incredibly professional, thoughtful, and enthusiastic, almost anticipating our every need (they thoughtfully helped us purchase tickets, proactively upgraded our room, and recommended reliable and delicious restaurants... 100 points!)

The best hotel we had on a 30 days trip through China starting in Chongquing to Shenzhen. This was THE ONLY staff speaking English fluently. Especially the super friendly girl doing the reception. She is the soul of this hotel. She managed everything people needed and was always smiling and really cute. The room are huge, the bathroom as well. It’s excellent clean and super cozy. They offer 2 washing machines, 2 tumble dryers and laundry detergent for free 👏👏 great. Best breakfast we ever had in China for both Chinese and foreign guest. Definitely world class premises- the only one in 30 days roadtrip. Free parking spaces and a very well equipped supermarket right in from the reception 👌 only negative thing is the woman sitting right in front of the hotel, screaming 10 times „hello“ at the guest and trying to sell her raw pumpkins. Not once, not twice- but everytime a guest shows up. I mean-what should a hotel guest do with a raw pumpkin??? I won’t start a barbecue in my room 🤦🏼♀️ she is extremely stupid and extremely annoying. If the hotel could manage to remove her from that place, that would be nothing negative to mention. Thank you guys for making our stay really remarkable. 🙏🏻❤️

Facilities: Excellent. Cleanliness: Very clean, no issues there. Environment: Fantastic, even though it's not within the scenic area, the value for money is great. Service: Excellent, with complimentary high-speed rail and scenic area shuttle services, which saved a lot of hassle. This was my first time choosing accommodation outside of a scenic area, and I was worried about the inconvenience of getting a taxi. However, the hotel offers free shuttle services, which made things incredibly convenient. Although it's not directly in the scenic area, the value for money is just as good as other accommodations. Highly recommended! Fantastic!

The environment here is fantastic, with fresh air and a great location that's convenient for all the attractions, whether you're taking the bus or a Didi. We drove ourselves, and there were plenty of charging stations and parking spots available. The front desk staff were very professional and handled our check-in quickly.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An excellent base for Zhangjiajie National Forest Park – exceptionally clean and wonderful staff I had a really lovely stay at Hampton by Hilton Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, in Wulingyuan, the small tourist town/village right beside the National Forest Park. The location could hardly be more convenient – the East Gate entrance to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is only a short walk away, which makes a huge difference when you have long days of exploring ahead of you. One of the things that impressed me most was how exceptionally clean the hotel was. Not just my room, but everywhere – the lobby, restaurant, corridors and public areas were immaculate. The hotel feels modern, bright, spacious and extremely well maintained. After spending the day climbing countless steps and exploring the mountains, coming back to such a clean and comfortable hotel was very much appreciated! There are also lots of thoughtful little extras. Guests have access to complimentary cold drinks, bottled water and ice creams, which you can simply help yourself to – a particularly welcome touch after returning hot and exhausted from the park. There is also a small business area with computers and printing facilities, which is surprisingly useful when travelling and needing to organise tickets or the next part of a trip. Breakfast is served in a large, pleasant dining area with plenty of choice, and the public spaces throughout the hotel are beautifully presented and comfortable. But the real highlight for me was the reception staff. Everyone I encountered was friendly, patient and genuinely keen to help, and I would particularly like to mention Iris. She was absolutely lovely. When I needed to organise the next stage of my journey, she took the time to sit with me and help me work through my next train booking, rather than simply pointing me in the right direction. When travelling alone in a country where you don’t speak the language, that sort of kindness and personal attention means a great deal. And her English is outstanding. Iris was consistently warm, approachable and friendly, and she made me feel that helping a guest was never an inconvenience. It is people like her who turn a very good hotel stay into one you actually remember. For anyone coming to Zhangjiajie primarily to explore the National Forest Park, I would happily recommend this hotel. Fantastic location, spotless facilities, thoughtful complimentary extras and, most importantly, genuinely caring staff. A wonderful stay that truly deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Everything was easy and comfortable, and I didn’t face any difficulties during my stay. The reception staff were absolutely amazing—very kind, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything I needed. The view of Tianmen Mountain and Heaven’s Gate is beautiful, and the location is excellent, very close to the station for going up Tianmen Mountain. It’s also conveniently close to halal restaurants, which was a big plus for me. A great experience in terms of location, service, and views. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again on my next visit. 🌟
