All staffs are very good. I could feel they were hard working in order to provide their best service. Saha running around every-time when we needed assistance or some information but limited English from other staffs.
Dinner and breakfast are not premium but worth for what we paid.

We stayed 1 night at Kusatsu Onsen hotel village. It's indeed a resort which offers many activities (table tennis, bowling, game arcade etc.) and a separate spa center with swimming pool and sauna. We didn't bother to step out the hotel until we had to leave Kusatsu.
The dinner and breakfast buffet were delicious too.
There is shampoo and bathing tools for babies in the ladies bath. I believe it's suitable for family with young children.
The hotel is very popular among the Japanese traveller. Lots of Japanese with very limited foreign traveller. The communication can be a bit difficult at the hotel.
The room were cleaned but there is limitation of daily cleaning of the room. They only take trash out and change towels. The policy is to clean the room every 4 days.
When the hotel is fully occupied, there is a problem with the scarcity of hot water. We have to wait for hot water to be reproducing 2 out of 3 nights we stayed.
The buffet is very crowded and the food are pretty much the same for all 3 nights we stayed for both breakfast and dinner. Our highlights are the crab and the beef station for dinner and the live onigiri station for breakfast.
It’s a perfect getaway from the city. The outdoor onsen was one of my favourite. The best part of this trip. The room was spotless and the staffs were very nice.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel is located very close to the main attractions in the city, which was extremely convenient. I booked a room with both lunch and dinner included, and the meals were great — served as set menus with good quality and presentation. There is also an onsen inside the hotel, though the outdoor area alternates between men and women depending on the day. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and was very satisfied.
AAlc101Absolutely beautiful location and multiple hot spring options! The buffet breakfast was exquisite as well ask the multi-course dinner. Sadly we only were able to stay one night but waking up in morning to see beautiful flurries of snow surrounded by mountains was much more magical and memorable than I imagined! During our stay, I even lost my camera and the staff were so kind to go down the mountain and mail it to me at the airport, speak Japanese to the staff at the airport to help me find it and I am forever grateful for their kindness and service. If I lost my camera I would’ve lost all my photos and videos of the trip! The staff speak Chinese and fluent English and so it was really easy to communicate with them. Will definitely come back!! Thank you Shima Tamura!
YyouyuguitarA very good hotel with a free shuttle bus to Yubata, the train station, and the ski resort. The hotel is large and has comprehensive recreational facilities, including bowling, karaoke, and billiards.
The receptionist speaks excellent English, making communication completely seamless. It's a long walk from the reception to the rooms, but you'll pass a large gift shop with prices the same as the gift shop next to Yubata, and you can even get tax-free shopping. There are also many art exhibitions in the hallways.
The rooms are spacious, with two beds and one tatami room, and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi. The open-air bath in the large public bath is very comfortable, allowing you to enjoy the snow while soaking in the hot spring. The hot spring water is piped from Yubata Genyu, and the temperature is quite high.
The hotel's most unique feature is its series of walking/hiking activities, with three sessions in total. I participated in the 7:00 AM forest hike with a professional guide. The hotel provides rain boots, but I recommend wearing thick socks as the rain boots are quite thin. We will walk into the forest and reach the ski resort. We will hike in the snow for about an hour. It will be cold, so be sure to dress warmly.
ชชญาดาพาเที่ยวIf you're a foreigner, a translation tool is essential because the staff don't speak English, or their accent was hard for us to understand. When we couldn't communicate, they seemed annoyed (90% of the staff didn't smile at us). There was an older staff member who was friendly, especially the one handling ski activity bookings. 🤬🤬 Absolutely terrible.
The food was mediocre, not much variety or taste.
The room was clean, and the onsen bathroom with amenities was excellent.
In summary, due to poor communication and the staff's lack of enthusiasm in recommending snow activities, my trip ended in tears 😭😭. I had planned to do many snow activities, but instead, I just walked around, built snowmen, and rolled in the snow.
I won't be coming back here next trip. I'll look for a hotel that's more welcoming to Thais.
GGuest UserThis is a fantastic hot spring hotel, offering a one-night stay with two meals, making it a great value. Breakfast and dinner are both buffets, and the buffet spread is excellent, especially the seasoned steaks, freshly squeezed orange juice (made on the spot), and pre-made banana milkshakes. In the evening, there's a Japanese folk song and dance performance, as well as adorable Kusatsu souvenirs—very kawaii. It was a truly memorable, enjoyable, and satisfying trip. The room also has its own onsen, which maintains a constant 38°C temperature and automatically refills when the water level drops. The room is stocked with high-end Kose shampoo and hair products, a high-end hair dryer, facial toiletries, lotion, hair products, and several kimono accessories. Booking a room with an indoor bath also offers executive lounge access from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and access to the newly opened VIP onsen in the annex, essentially renting the entire place out. It's very nice.
RrosejGunma Kusatsu Onsen♨️! So famous! I often heard that a colleague in our company who likes to take a bath comes here every holiday.
I understand! It is even more beautiful in autumn!
This hotel is also very popular! We arrived at about 17:30 and stayed until p5
The environment is amazing👍👍The fairy tale of autumn is here
On an ordinary weekend, the buffet breakfast and dinner are amazing🈵!
The ingredients are fresh, the food is exquisite and attentive, and the vacation time is happy and satisfying
GGuest UserI visited during a three-day weekend in November.
I was lucky to get a reservation the day before my stay.
However, the hotel was a little outside of Ikaho's tourist attractions, so walking might be difficult if you can't catch the shuttle bus.
The stone steps are about a 10-minute walk away, but the walk is quite steep (though the taxi driver said it was possible to walk there).
The shuttle bus doesn't run directly to the hotel entrance and stops after 6 PM, so I wanted to take photos of the night view of the stone steps and Kajika Bridge, but it was cold outside and the slope made it difficult.
The hot springs I was looking forward to were the rock bath in the basement and the large public bath on the third floor.
The rock bath is timed and alternates between men and women, but it can be difficult for men to use at times. It's open until 8 PM in the evening and from 8:30 AM in the morning (otherwise, it's only available to women).
Check-in is at 5 PM, so if you eat dinner after 6 PM, you won't have time to use the rock bath, which is a bit disappointing when you're busy getting ready to leave in the morning. The large public bath was clean and nice, but...
Dinner was a buffet and breakfast was a buffet.
There was crab at the buffet, but it was watery and not much meat.
The sushi was probably conveyor belt sushi-level, wasn't it?
It's a shame, as many of the other dishes and meats were delicious.
I also wish there was an all-you-can-drink option.
The breakfast buffet was very satisfying! All the food was delicious.
My room was a twin, but it was clean and had a small cypress bath in the indoor bath!
It was nice that you could see the occupancy status of each facility on the TV.
The staff were all polite, but if you're expecting old-fashioned hospitality, you might be disappointed. It's a sign of the times, I guess.
Overall, there were some disappointments, but I was satisfied!
GGuest UserI liked the hot springs and the view overlooking the river from my room, so it was my second stay. There are two large communal baths, 1 floor and 2 floor, so you can enter slowly without getting crowded.
The room was large in a Japanese-style room with a bed and comfortable with a bath and toilet. However, I was worried that the flow of the toilet was weak.
Overall, I think the breakfast is delicious and this price is cheap.
It is a recommended inn for relay accommodation because it is close to Tomioka silk mill and Karuizawa is also close by 20 minutes by car.
