Hotele z: Pools w Jeju Province, South Korea

This was my most satisfying stay yet. Check-in is on the 6th floor, where they also have a paid laundry and drying service – I spent almost 50 RMB to wash all my clothes. Downstairs, there's a free airport shuttle. The service was excellent, and there's a coffee shop upstairs. The first floor leads directly to the duty-free shop, and there's even a currency exchange machine right by the elevator on the first floor of the hotel.

The hotel's soundproofing is extremely poor. On the first night, it felt very hot after 11 PM, and the air conditioning stayed at 24 degrees Celsius for over two hours (even though it was set to 18 degrees). There was also a constant thumping sound, similar to walking, from upstairs. After calling the front desk to report the issue, the noise did not stop. Later, after discussing with Trip.com customer service, we decided to change rooms. A front desk staff member came to help move our luggage to the new room. When we first arrived at the new room, the noise indeed disappeared, but it wasn't long before the thumping sound returned and continued non-stop until around 2:30 AM, severely affecting our rest. For light sleepers, it would be absolutely maddening. On the second day, we realized the noise was coming from all directions. Both the ceiling and wall soundproofing were quite poor, with frequent strange noises. Overall, our stay significantly impacted our rest. I called hotel room service to request two buckwheat pillows or firmer pillows, but the ones brought were the same as the original pillows in the room. English communication was not very smooth. The room facilities are a bit old. The only advantage is the hotel's good location, which is very convenient for guests traveling by car as there is free parking. You just need to provide your license plate information to the front desk during check-in.

The public areas are really beautiful and comfortable; as soon as you step into the hotel, you feel like you're on vacation. The sea view is stunning on a clear day. The front desk staff can communicate in English. Our room wasn't ready at the 3 PM check-in time, but the hotel offered an alternative to switch to a non-sea view suite. We opted to wait for the sea-view room we booked, showing a proactive approach to problem-solving. Our luggage was delivered directly to the room, and we didn't encounter any unpleasant attitudes during our stay. Our room was in the East Tower, which I believe is the older building. I was initially worried it might be too dated after reading some reviews, but it was actually fine! The room was indeed very small, but clean and odor-free, with a complimentary minibar. The balcony was quite large, and the sea view was satisfying. The room door had average soundproofing, but the balcony door was well-insulated, making the room generally quiet. Highly recommended!

The room was clean and tidy, and the owners were incredibly nice. The scenery outside the guesthouse was absolutely stunning; a walk in the morning or evening is all you need, no need to go to a distant beach. There are many convenience stores and restaurants nearby, which is super convenient. It's close to the airport, but a bit far from other attractions, which is a minor drawback. Some people mentioned issues with not being able to check-in after 10 PM, and I experienced this too. However, I emailed the owners in advance, and they replied quickly. After asking for my flight number, they helped me book a taxi (though a bit pricey, it was very convenient) and waited for us until 10:30 PM. So, everyone should check their operating hours and communicate in advance when booking to avoid any problems.

Staying at the Grand Hyatt Jeju was a great experience overall. The hotel is conveniently located, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff provides excellent service. There are many Chinese-speaking staff members, so communication was not an issue. The airport shuttle bus runs every half an hour with dedicated staff for pick-up and drop-off, making airport transfers very convenient. The rooms are equipped with service QR codes, allowing guests to order food, request towels and drinking water, and schedule room cleaning with ease. The hotel breakfast offers a good variety. There are also many restaurants nearby, providing a wide range of dining options. I tried local dishes like grilled meat and stone pot bibimbap, and the taste was generally good.

Cleanliness satisfaction! The second complex, perhaps because it was built relatively recently, was well-maintained and the bedding was clean. Since it was summer, the air conditioning was running full blast before check-in, which was great. Location – I knew this when I booked, so to go out for a meal, you have to walk down for about 10 minutes. There's nothing but a convenience store! I prepared beforehand, so it wasn't inconvenient. Room amenities – There were no tissue boxes, which was surprisingly inconvenient. Insect repellent, mops, etc., were provided. Swimming pool – Good to use! However!!! As mentioned in previous reviews, clear rules and enforcement are needed!! In what should be a quiet pool, a group was drinking beer at an indoor table, being loud, pushing each other into the water, and jumping in – it was complete chaos, not even just a mess. Everyone else, except for that group, was frowning. Since it's not a water park, basic etiquette regarding drinking, noise, etc., must be followed and enforced. Overall, the operation feels like a local corner store. There are no rules, and management is poor. There wasn't even a parking spot in front of my room; the spots were already taken, perhaps by the room next door. Please limit the number of cars as you do the number of people. Breakfast – They suddenly said an employee collapsed, so breakfast wouldn't be available for a week. I specifically confirmed if breakfast was possible over the phone and then booked, so this was absurd. They should have at least contacted me before check-in so I could buy groceries! Breakfast for two days was very inconvenient, and the handling of the situation was inadequate. I went to relax quietly but ended up getting a lot of stress. 😤

Jeju Island Hotel Recommendation | Shilla Hotel The Shilla Hotel, with its Southern French charm, is located in Seogwipo, Jeju Island. The hotel perfectly suited my taste and is also ideal for family vacations. I absolutely loved it and would definitely stay here again. **Regarding Transportation** We hired a private car from the airport to the hotel, which took less than an hour. However, getting to the city center from here is not convenient. We chose this hotel specifically for a relaxing vacation, so apart from taking a taxi to Hello Kitty Island, we walked everywhere else. **Regarding the Room** We booked a mountain view room, and the scenery was lovely. Sitting on the balcony, we could enjoy a vast expanse of greenery, which was truly refreshing. There was one king-sized bed and one smaller bed, both very comfortable, and turndown service was provided. The blinds were a bit sheer, so if you're bothered by light, you can ask the hotel staff to install curtains. The bathroom and toilet were separate (wet and dry areas), and the space was very large, making our stay very comfortable. **Regarding Dining** The hotel's restaurants are all excellent. This time, we only experienced the breakfast buffet, but you can also choose the lunch buffet. The breakfast spread was incredibly rich and varied! Everything was exquisite and delicious. I highly recommend choosing a room package that includes breakfast when booking. For dinner, we found restaurants near the hotel, and overall, dining was very convenient. **Regarding Family-Friendly Amenities** The Kids' Island on the basement level is perfect for preschoolers, with various interesting board games that even adults would want to play. Kids' Club (Gymboree) requires reservations, and we didn't have time to experience it this time, but we look forward to it next time. The indoor and outdoor pools are connected, and there's live music in the evening, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Remember that the outdoor sun loungers need to be reserved, which is very convenient, and you get to use them for a long time after reservation. **Regarding Service** From check-in to check-out, the service was impeccable! There was a small hiccup with installing the curtains, but before we left, they specially gave us a cute teddy bear with blue plaid, which was a lovely gesture. The hotel's strong Southern French vibe makes for great photos! Walking to Jungmun Saekdal Beach involves many steps, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes. The hotel's attention to detail is excellent, with a waterfall and even a small zoo. Two nights felt barely enough.

A pretty good hotel, very comfortable and close to the sea. It's just a few minutes' walk to Chilseong-ro, which has fewer people but plenty of goods, especially a great selection of sports brands. After exploring Chilseong-ro, you can easily get to Dongmun Market to experience its vibrant atmosphere. The hotel rooms are a good size and have balconies with sea views, really setting a relaxed vacation mood. Due to the weather, we couldn't use the outdoor swimming pool. The hotel breakfast was a bit pricey, so we opted for a special breakfast at Dongmun Market instead. The only downside is that the hotel is located near the Jeju Airport runway, so you can watch every departing flight. It can get a bit noisy at night, but the airport generally closes down by 11 PM.

The overall service was good, and the rooms were marked with nationality, so Chinese-speaking assistance was available by phone. We could also request a child toilet seat. However, the overall facilities for families were a bit lacking compared to domestic parent-child hotels. There were no complimentary toothbrushes or toothpaste, so we had to bring our own or buy them from a vending machine. Only two bottles of mineral water were provided per day, and anything extra had to be purchased. Seogwipo City felt better for exploring than Jeju City, and both were about the same distance. Hyeopjae Beach is highly recommended. There was a sashimi place in the complex that was delicious, but Mom's fried chicken was just okay. For BHC fried chicken, the front desk could help order delivery, and it was a 15-minute walk away.

The facilities are clean and the location overlooking the sea has a wonderful view. The bed is quite comfortable and the room is spacious. Language barrier can be a bit tough and the bath towels could be upgraded and renewed. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a short stay.
