„The hotel's location is fantastic, right next to the train station, just a two to three-minute walk away. The room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom, however, was a bit cramped. If you're catching a train the next day and want to make things easy, this is a good option. Breakfast was pretty standard. Now, about the front desk. The woman in the headscarf at the front desk was absolutely terrible. When I checked in, I told her I booked through Ctrip and handed her my passport. She fiddled around for five minutes, looking everywhere but at the right place, then asked if I'd booked through ***********. Eventually, she gave me a room card for 104, but when I went up, the room hadn't even been cleaned. She then said, 'This is how it is,' and gave me another card for 106, which also hadn't been cleaned. It was already 1 PM, so even if the rooms weren't ready, why put me through all that back and forth? Couldn't she have just told me to store my luggage and go grab lunch first? Both room numbers she gave me were uncleaned. I suggested she could perhaps get one cleaned quickly, but she very firmly said, 'No, it must be 2 PM.' Okay, 2 PM is fine, but why didn't she say so earlier? What was the point of making me drag my luggage back and forth? When I returned at 4 PM, I was given yet another room, 206, and was told they had made a mistake with the rooms! Separately, the city tax at this hotel is also very strange. The two previous hotels I stayed at in Samarkand charged 41,200, but this one insisted on charging 62,000. Is the city tax different within the same city? I'd like Ctrip to investigate this and clarify the correct amount. Can't they just be transparent with their pricing?”

„We were thoroughly satisfied with our stay at this hotel. Upon arrival, the front desk manager kindly upgraded our room to a suite in celebration of my wife's upcoming birthday—a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for our visit. The suite, featuring a separate bedroom and living room, was impeccably clean and beautifully maintained. Breakfast was delicious, offering a wide range of continental options. While I would have appreciated more local dishes, the variety and quality were excellent. Both the reception and dining staff were friendly, attentive, and eager to assist. The SPA area and swimming pool were spacious, clean, and designed to offer plenty of privacy, even when other guests were present. Tip: About 100 meters to the left of the hotel, there’s a fantastic local BBQ restaurant with affordable, tasty food. A heartfelt thanks to the hotel management and staff for the upgrade and making our stay truly memorable.”

„Great 3 nights stay at Movenpick hotel with all amenities. Very convenient and close to the Gour Emir monument (4/5mn by walk) and the Registan square (15/16mn). A lot of cafe and restaurants around the hotel as we didn’t book the hotel breakfast. As we are lazy to dine out, we enjoyed twice diners at the restaurant Caramelle (really juicy manti and tasteful somsa & soups) We tried the sauna (hammam was under reparation) and the fitness. We had pleasant drinks at the pool bar. So we can recommend the Movenpick hotel at Samarkand. And the room rates are very affordable for a 4,5/5* hotel.”

„I have to say we will give the reception guy 6 stars up to five. We have to catch up the train in the early morning around 1am, so that we need to stay in the lounge for around 4hours.The reception guy, with my great respect and grateful, stay up the whole night with us, no rest and give water and turn on for us. In the end, support us for communicating with the driver and carry the luggages for us, with no tips(sorry we dont have change cash at that moments) also breakfast nice and room is clean and tidy”

„Hotel jest dogodnie położony, 15 minut spacerem od Registanu. W pobliżu nie ma wielu kawiarni ani sklepów, poza wytworną restauracją w sąsiednim hotelu, a najbliższe lokale gastronomiczne oddalone są o 10-15 minut spacerem. Okolica tętni życiem. Po Continentalu można by oczekiwać pewnego luksusu, ale go nie ma – to skromny hotel. Nie ma tu piano baru, baru cygarowego, bardzo skromnego spa ani siłowni – małego pokoju w rogu z bieżnią i pięcioma maszynami do ćwiczeń. Śniadanie jest skromne i niezbyt smaczne, ale nie będziesz głodny. Omlety są przygotowywane na życzenie, a ekspresu do kawy nie widzieliśmy, tylko ekspres do kawy. Internet na naszym piętrze nie działał dwa dni z czterech; prosiliśmy o sprawdzenie, ale to nic nie dało. Musieliśmy skorzystać z telefonu komórkowego. Jeśli chodzi o wymianę pieniędzy, nigdy nie było kasjera. Atmosfera Wschodu była całkowicie pozbawiona.”

„After a few rough nights at a Soviet hotel, words can’t describe how happy I was to see this hotel. The male receptionist was very welcoming when I arrived as he let me check in a bit earlier after a train ride. The breakfast fulfilled my needs as they have fresh fruits, vegetables, yoghurt, eggs, coffee… no complaint. The guy working at the breakfast area was also very helpful. After I finished gym, I went up there. He immediately asked me if I needed water. It shows that he’s attentive. I felt happy staying there. The reason I booked it was the gym. As an active person, I need to work out on my travels. The gym is not fully equipped but it provides with the basics such as a treadmill, a bike and weights. Location wise, it’s not in the center of the tourist spot but it’s walking distance. It took me 15 min to get to Registan. Don’t worry though as Samarkand is pedestrian friendly.”

„We were very satisfied with our stay at this hotel. Although it’s rated 4 stars, it offers amenities and service comparable to some 5-star hotels. Our room was spacious, featuring a balcony, a spotless bathroom, and four complimentary bottles of water although we are a couple. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, arranging our private visit to the SPA and swimming pool, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast was delicious, with a wider and better selection than some nearby 5-star hotels. The only downsides were the location of the rooms, which are separate from the main building, the absence of an elevator, and open-air corridors connecting the rooms to the dining and SPA areas. This can be uncomfortable during colder months like February, so dressing warmly is advisable. This hotel is definitely THE BEST DEAL you can find in the area and it's just 10 minutes walk from the main attraction in Samarkand.”
