„Changbai Mountain Landscape International Eco-Exchange Center — where “eco-exchange” really means exchanging knee joints for enlightenment 🐕🦺❄️ This old dog picked this place as a first-timer to Changbaishan because on paper it reads like a dream: ✔️ 5-minute walk to the Changbai Mountain VIP entrance ✔️ Hot springs inside the compound ✔️ “Eco-exchange” — which I later learned refers to exchanging comfort for character development Location? Prime marrow bone. 🦴 Reality, however, is a scenic winter obstacle course. The hotel is thoughtfully scattered across three separate buildings — one for check-in and breakfast, another for hot springs, and because suspense is important in life, the Food Plaza lives in yet another building. In winter. On ice. With wind that slaps. Not exactly age-old-dog friendly. I waddled. I shuffled. I negotiated with my knees. At one point I believe my soul lagged behind and had to catch up. To offset this Arctic triathlon, the staff are available 24/7 on WeChat, responding faster than I can type “why did I choose this hotel?” Efficiency deserves a respectful tail wag. 🐾 Now let’s talk Food Plaza, the hotel’s redemption arc. The food is genuinely scrumptious, warming, and emotionally supportive after being bullied by Changbai winds. Takeaway is allowed — which means you carry it yourself. Eco-exchange again. This dog fetches his own dinner. 🥸 Then there’s the hot spring schedule. Opens at 13:30. When the mountain is closed and the hot spring is closed what exactly is an old dog meant to do? Stare into the snow? Question life decisions? Age visibly? Ah yes — write this review. ✔️ ⚠️ Now, the bone that refuses to go down smoothly. Despite having a relaxed stay, I felt continuously pressed for a 5-star review — on departure day from the first meeting in the lobby to gentle reminders all the way up the bus. At that point, it stopped feeling like hospitality and started feeling like an exam I didn’t sign up for. It made me sad, actually — because it suggests staff performance may be chained to guest reviews like sled dogs pulling corporate KPIs. Trip.com, if you’re listening: no guest should ever be pressured to review. The moment reviews are pushed, ratings stop being honest and start being decorative. This old dog is an independent reviewer. I don’t bark on command. I don’t roll over for stars. And the harder the push, the more my paw hovers over the lowest rating out of pure principle. „The hotel is very clean but when I was there with my family, there are a lot of constructions ongoing near the hotel and it was raining every single day when we are at Changchun. The hotel staff is very nice and efficient esp when we had only 30 mins to board our train to head to Changbaishan. The hotel staff, Fu Yang, is able to cater for us and understand that we are rushing for time. We managed to board our train successfully thanks to Ms Fu Yang. The breakfast options were rather limited. There was a signage saying that we could have how we wanted our eggs. We requested for the chef to cook it; the chef booked for us unwillingly and gave us an attitude. From the previous guest reviews, there are many positive reviews with regards to the buffet hence we decided to pay for the breakfast buffet. Overall, we will still stay in the same hotel if we visit Changchun once again. :) Side note, the train station was rather far away from the hotel. However, DiDi works fine too.”

„We stayed in the family deluxe room, the 'Dinosaur Water World Stone Age' themed room. The room design was quite unique and my child loved it, but the cleanliness was subpar. The floor felt sandy when you walked on it, and there was a constant layer of white dust on my phone screen and the wall light switches, which appeared every time we moved even slightly. I'm not sure what it was. There must have been a lot of dust mites on the bed. My child's legs were itchy and had small bites, and since it's not summer, it couldn't have been mosquitoes – it had to be dust mites. I felt itchy all over too while sleeping. It seemed like the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned, just superficially tidied up, without proper wiping. Perhaps it's because the room is large and has two floors, but in terms of hygiene, I felt the value for money wasn't good. We just stayed for two days for the child's happiness. The hot springs and water park were nice, but the water in the water park was too cold. Initially, we weren't allowed to bring towels from the hot springs area, nor could we wear slippers. The water park didn't provide towels or slippers either. My child's lips turned purple from the cold. Kids don't mind when they want to play, but it was really cold for adults, and we worried about the child getting sick. Also, walking without slippers was very slippery, and I was afraid the child would fall. Later, we saw people wearing slippers, so I went to the front desk to ask where we could get some. The front desk said that management had just changed the rule, and now we could bring towels and wear slippers. Then, there was a sushi stand nearby. I asked if it was chargeable (intending to ask if it required cash or room key payment), and they said yes, it was chargeable. Immediately after, I overheard a male and female hotel staff member laughing, as if implying, 'Do you expect it for free if it's not chargeable?'”

The manager helped us, and we had a wonderful time that will remain a pleasant memory. If we have the chance to come to Changbai Mountain again, we would definitely choose this hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. We are truly grateful for the warm hearts of all the staff. Also, grilling skewers and enjoying a glass of soju in the hotel parking lot was an unforgettable delight.”

The Yunshuilanting Hot Spring Hotel is excellent. I traveled to Changbai Mountain with my elders and stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room with two large beds. The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. Both the indoor and outdoor environments of the hotel are beautiful, and it's not far from various attractions, yet very quiet. The transportation is convenient, making it easy to get anywhere. The hotel staff are very kind, attentive, and enthusiastic. They offer an outdoor hot spring and free parking. There's also a fantastic barbecue restaurant right next door! 😄 Their breakfast is also good. Highly recommended.

Excellent! Blue Horizon has been around since I was a kid, and even after all these years, it still maintains its 5-star standard. It feels like staying in a Nordic forest. The restaurant offers wild mountain vegetables with dipping sauce – the kind only true Changbai Mountain locals would recognize. You absolutely must try it! However, I'd suggest they make the portion sizes smaller; there's too much, and it'd be a shame to waste those delicious wild vegetables. The complimentary activities and attractions are also fantastic and definitely worth visiting!

Right from the start, the service at this hotel felt uncomfortable. When checking in at the front desk, the staff member took my ID, then turned around to chat with a colleague, leaving me waiting. I had to ask twice before he finally said they were done chatting and proceeded with my check-in. The male front desk staff was full of arrogance! Sure enough, upon entering the room, a slipper left by the previous guest was prominently displayed on the floor! Dust and paper scraps were clearly visible in the corners. It was unbearable, so I requested a re-cleaning. Throughout it all, the hotel offered no apology whatsoever. For 2000 a night, it was a truly miserable stay!

Five-star review! Jianshuihe Hot Spring Hotel is absolutely worth staying at. The hot spring water quality is excellent, and the rooms are clean and spacious. The private hot spring design is a huge plus. The service is warm and attentive, and the breakfast is abundant. Right outside, you'll find the beautiful '美人松' (a type of pine tree, likely a local landmark), and transportation to all the Changbai Mountain attractions is convenient. Soaking in the hot springs after hiking is incredibly relaxing – it's definitely my top choice for accommodation, highly recommended!

Its overall style is a understated yet elegant New Chinese design, creating a wonderful ambiance. The room was incredibly spacious, the bedding comfortable, and the balcony offered distant views of the mountains and forests. I absolutely loved the room's aesthetic. The breakfast selection was rich and high-quality, featuring both Western and Chinese options. The staff were warm and polite, check-in was efficient, and they were responsive without being overly enthusiastic. Getting around the resort area was convenient, and the environment was quiet and serene, perfectly embodying a relaxing vacation vibe. It's definitely my top choice for a Changbaishan getaway, and I'm very satisfied overall. Highly recommend staying here!

This was by far the most satisfying hotel of our trip! First off, the service was exceptional. They reminded us in advance to book attraction tickets and the butler even arranged high-speed rail pick-up and drop-off. Since the attraction was closed on our first day, they even helped us snag tickets for the next day, which we greatly appreciated. Secondly, the perks for staying two nights were excellent. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the volcanic stone forest, dug up some ginseng, and then cooled off with spring water coffee and chilled watermelon at the ice spring. It was all very relaxing and pleasant. The off-road vehicle ride was a blast, though the cable car was just a standard ski resort one, nothing special. We finally made it up the mountain today and saw Tianchi Lake; the view was absolutely stunning. So happy! The hotel environment is lovely, complete with deer, bunnies, and alpacas. The volcanic hot springs really made my skin feel smooth afterwards, and I even felt my shoulder pain ease up quite a bit. Such great value!

I highly recommend the Beidahu Hyakumanseki Hot Spring Hotel; it's the ultimate choice for a ski resort getaway! As a high-end hot spring hotel under Gokurakuyu, Japanese aesthetics are integrated into every detail. The rooms are elegant and spacious, with premium and thoughtful amenities. Opening the window, you're greeted by a stunning, serene, and healing view of the snow-capped mountains. The location is absolutely fantastic, with an exclusive corridor leading directly to the ski equipment hall. No need to carry your gear; you can truly ski-in and ski-out, saving effort and hassle. After skiing, head straight to the Gokurakuyu hot spring, where the aroma of cypress wood fills the air. With both indoor and outdoor pools to choose from, the romantic experience of soaking in the snow is maximized, and all fatigue melts away. The butler service is meticulous, providing thoughtful care from check-in to check-out. The breakfast offers a rich variety of Chinese and Western dishes, ensuring you start your ski day full of energy. The hotel is well-equipped with a supermarket and a Japanese izakaya, fulfilling all your vacation needs in one place. Whether for a business retreat or a ski holiday, it's an impeccable top choice and has already been added to my must-visit list every year!

The room was incredibly spacious and offered great value for money. It was a shame the hot spring was out of order, as we couldn't experience it. The park area was completely dark at night with no lights, making it hard to see anything, which was a bit of a downside. However, the room itself was excellent and very clean. The pool was too shallow for a good swim, and it felt a bit crowded with people taking lessons. On the plus side, the changing room and shower facilities were decent, and there was a nice hot spring pool. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, perhaps due to the off-season, with not many good options. I would still come back if I have the chance, it's worth a try.

The hotel overall exceeded my expectations. First off, the location is superb, right next to the 'Zhe You Shan' shopping complex and Changchun Film Studio Museum, literally just downstairs. Manager Bobo and the young lady at the front desk were both incredibly warm and attentive. They added an extra bed to the suite's living room free of charge, and the air conditioning issue was resolved very quickly. We even received a gift box of Zongzi and a fridge magnet. The suite itself was spacious with plenty of amenities. The afternoon tea and happy hour included in the executive benefits were also quite good. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

I forgot to take pictures of the room but I love how huge it is, perfect for groups and families to stay. The host is also very responsive and helpful. He picked up and dropped me off from and to the Railway station, just tell him what you need and he does his best to comply to the requests. The foods are also very local and tasty. The hotel is just few minutes of walk from Wanda Ski Resort. You can also take a taxi from the hotel to Wanda for more or less than 10rmb. The hotel is just near from several restaurants and stores. I even rented my ski suit from the store just near the hotel for only 80rmb/day with a deposit (refundable) of 300rmb which is way cheaper than renting ski suits from Wanda. The hotel is in Guosongcun and the place is perfect for those who want peace and quiet, away from too much crowd. Overall, my stay was absolutely pleasant and if I come back to Changbaishanxi again, I will definitely book the same hotel 👍👍👍❤️
