Overall, the hotel was clean and the room was very comfortable. The staff was okay, but I was disappointed with the breakfast options. There were limited gluten-free choices, and when I asked for fried eggs, I was told they don’t do that. There were no gluten-free croissants or cakes, so I ended up just having coffee and something very small compare with other people.Overall, I didn’t feel the breakfast was worth the price
Stayed 3 nights so that we could visit family and friends in the area. Booked a twin room which had adequate space for 2 of us and separate area with small table and chairs if needed. Beds were comfortable and the room was warm (once I was shown how to activate the heating) Unfortunately the bathroom was very cold as the hotel boiler needed repair so the radiator wasn’t working. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is quite dated and in need of an upgrade which is on the planning. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially when I realised I’d left my own personal pillow on the bed. They tracked it down and a friend collected for me the next day. Definitely stay agin when next in the area.
I'm pleased with this accommodation where I stayed on my own for 1 night. Very clean. Shower was hot and effective. Bed was very comfortable, although the duvet did get too warm during the day and I didn't actually get a good night's sleep. No way to turn down room temperature as far as I could tell (this was end of September). Very good location. Only a 3-minute drive from the park & ride, and overnight I parked for free across from Sainsbury's, which is just 2 minutes' walk from Turing Locke. It's not in the city and would've required waiting for the bus if I were to go into the city, but didn't bother me as I quite like staying out of city. Would recommend.
Perfect little place to stay at a great price. Scrupulously clean, friendly staff, free parking, and including a tasty breakfast..... and only a 20 min straight walk to the town centre. Can't fault this hotel except the roomy bed was maybe a bit hard for us. Apart from that, perfect. Would definitely stay again, and highly recommend!
There was a polish lady at the reception - she was AMAZING! EXTREMELY helpful, friendly, professional. I have stayed in many hotels, also international and 5 star - and she is TOP! One of hte best receptionist I have ever come across. The others were so-so, sometimes unfriendly or not organized, but she made up for all their failures and was EXCEPTIONAL.
The door to my room was faulty - so the cleaners never managed to go inside and clean my room while I stayed there for 3 nights, and not all cards worked - so cleaners jsut did not bother to go inside- which was disappointing. Also, the soap dispensers do not work well - very hard to get any soap out. - needs fixing properly.
Stayed as close to Huntingdon Racecourse as where our cycle ride was starting. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was small and a little tired, the shower was OK, no flexibility with it, so had to wash my hair, which had only just been cut 4 hours ago. The breakfast was cereals, toast, packeted croissant, tea, coffee and fresh fruit juice. Really good value for the price. When booking the initial price changed which was frustrating, but still extremely good value for a last minute booking.
My stay at Novotel Cambridge was extremely disappointing due to serious cleanliness issues.
Upon checking into Room 205, I discovered visible blood stains on the duvet. This is not a minor oversight — it is a basic hygiene failure. Clean bedding is the absolute minimum standard any guest should expect. Finding blood stains immediately raised concerns about the room being properly cleaned and inspected.
I reported the issue and was informed that the bedding had been cleaned again. However, when I returned to check, the stains were still there. This was both frustrating and alarming, as it suggested a lack of proper quality control within housekeeping.
Only after escalating the matter was it properly addressed. Charlotte, the manager, eventually upgraded us to an executive room and provided complimentary breakfast, which I appreciate. However, this does not change the fact that the initial room condition was unacceptable and should never have happened in the first place.
An upgrade is a service recovery gesture — it does not erase the hygiene concern or the distress caused at the start of our stay.
I hope the hotel seriously reviews its cleaning procedures and room inspection standards to prevent future guests from experiencing the same issue.
Unfortunately, based on cleanliness alone, I would not rate this stay highly.
This is a very retro and very beautiful hotel. The boy at the reception was very friendly and recommended travel routes for me. The breakfast was also good. If I travel to Cambridge next time, I will still choose this hotel.

Great
Excellent all things in this hotel. I have lunch set at Garden restaurant that the portion of food is quite large with reasonable prices. All food and desserts is taste good.
Great hotel! We had a suite with a kitchen/living room separate to the bedroom - it had all you needed. Good vegan options available for breakfast. There was car parking available (for an additional cost) which felt secure as was in the basement under the hotel.
I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Queensgate Hotel in Peterborough! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the high standard of service. The staff were exceptional — friendly, attentive, and always happy to help with anything I needed. Check-in was quick and efficient, and I immediately felt at ease thanks to the team’s professional yet genuinely caring attitude. My room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully presented. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and the overall setup was both stylish and practical. Everything worked perfectly — from the lighting and heating to the shower and Wi-Fi — which made my stay completely hassle-free. I could tell the hotel takes pride in keeping everything well maintained and comfortable for guests. The hotel itself has a lovely charm. The decor is elegant without being overdone, and the entire property has a calm, welcoming feel. The communal areas were tidy and relaxing, and I noticed great attention to detail throughout — from the fresh, inviting scent in the corridors to the neatly arranged furniture in the lounge area. The location is ideal too. The Queensgate Hotel is close enough to Peterborough city centre to be convenient, but far enough to offer peace and quiet. It’s easy to reach by car, and there’s on-site parking, which made things even more convenient. Whether visiting for business or leisure, it’s perfectly situated for exploring the city and nearby attractions. While I didn’t use the restaurant or bar on this trip, they looked very inviting, and I’ll definitely try them next time. It’s clear that this hotel is run with real care and attention — everything feels personal and thoughtfully managed. Overall, The Queensgate Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. It combines comfort, cleanliness, and genuine hospitality at a great value. I left feeling completely relaxed and impressed by the quality of service. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Peterborough and will certainly be returning on my next trip. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Nice Staff and helpful. We tried to sleep on the queen size bed and sofa bed which are comfortable! Hotel opposite has Co-op Supermarket, very convenience! Here has swimming pool and gym house, it's clean! Beside the hotel has a carpark, £14.3 for 1 day.

Hotel was very helpful on queries on adding my son due to last minute changes to lodging. Room is reasonably furnished. Gym is open 24 hours - good collection of equipment for workout
We had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel! ✅ Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the reception staff were warm and welcoming. They also helped us register our car for free parking, which was a great bonus. 🛏️ Our room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The air conditioning was customisable and worked flawlessly throughout the stay, adding to our comfort. 🧴 All the toiletries were fully stocked and ready to use — a small but thoughtful touch. 🕛 One thing we really appreciated was the 12 PM checkout time, which is later than many other hotels. It gave us extra time to relax and pack without feeling rushed. 🛍️ The location is super convenient — just a 5-minute walk to a large shopping mall, making dining and shopping easy. 🔌 Another highlight was the electric vehicle charging available in the hotel parking, which was exactly what we needed. 💷 Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money with great service and thoughtful amenities. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back!
It is a nice hotel around 15 minutes away from the town centre. No supermarket or fast food shop within 10 minute distance. But good enough to take a rest. Very close to the airport.
