I found my one night stay at the Highlander Hotel to be very pleasant. My room was a generous double en suite and was spotless. As a solo traveller on a pedal bike I was pleased that there was a secure shed where I could leave my bike in confidence. The staff were very helpful over this and again when I reported that the tv wasn't receiving a signal. This was sorted very quickly with a new aerial cable. Breakfast was good, with plenty of fresh fruit and a choice of hot dishes. Great value and I'd certainly go back.
I always try to stay here on my trips to Inverness. Friendly staff, literally seconds from the train station entrance.
Room warm with all the amenities you need and a huge bath with hot water all day. Super comfy bed and fine bed linen.
Hotel combines traditional Scottish character, tartan carpets, stag heads that sort of thing, with modern touches, displays of modern art etc. Great lounge to use at reception.
Yes, I was able to check in early, which was really helpful. The room was spotless, and there were tea, coffee, and even a biscuit — very impressed. I went to the gym, which was well equipped, even with dumbbells up to 20kg and a bench. The swimming pool and sauna were perfect after my session, and the showers were great quality and very clean. They even had a spinner to dry swimwear.
I went for a meal in the restaurant — 10 out of 10. Amazing selection and served straight away. I will definitely be back; for the price, it’s hard to beat. Incredible location as well.
The hotel location was good, very near town centre and close by to a multiple levels car park with electric car charging options, 24 hours was only £9.00. Food menu wasn’t big but nice food overall.
Just back from staying in the West End Hotel Nairn and had a great weekend room spacious clean and tidy hotel very covid conscious was staying B&B my only negative was the breakfast although what you got was very good and freshly cooked to order choice was limited to 7 items from a possible 10 and it was either continental with juice, yogurt, cereal and porridge or a cooked breakfast of 7 items I would have liked fruit juice to start and only one slice of toast we were never offered more tea coffee or toast either day, don’t get me wrong what you got was excellent but limited I thought. On the second night we had dinner and I must admit we were spoiled for choice I chose the lasagne with garlic bread my wife had Chicken Stroganoff with rice we had a portion of homemade chips and homemade onion rings all was cooked to perfection really could not fault anything will definitely return in the future
This is a genuinely nice hotel sat right on the banks of the River Ness and a few minutes walk from the center of Inverness. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The breakfast had a good range of choices and was delicious. The staff were polite and friendly and were very happy to fuss over my small child!

Absolutely loved this little B&B! The couple who run it are kind and thoughtful, they’ve done a beautiful job renovating the space and the food is fantastic! Could not beat the location either.

Good
GGuest UserWe were supposed to stay a night on the 3rd, however due to total disaster with the snow (police closing roads, snow gates shut, buses not running, train cancelled last minute) we were unable to travel and had to cancel the onwards travel plans. We explained the situation providing evidence that it was not possible for us to get anywhere and kindly asked if possible to amend to another date, but were refused.
Stayed in the hotel before, not a bad place, but very disappointed that they had not been more understanding of our already disrupted start of the 2026.
GGuest UserAwful. Initially I was in a double room. Women daily 0540 by loud music which I believe was the kitchen staff starting breakfast preparation. Moved to single room on my final night. The heating on full was the difference between having a cooler box or a freezer. No cable other than power cable for the TV so no reception whatsoever. This was pointed out to the reception desk who told me no maintenance staff were available due to rostering. A coaxial cable would probably resolve the problem. However that was not provided. The staff were polite but had their hands tied on what they could do to resolve the issues. Just an awful experience sadly as the hotel is in a prime position. Polite staff who had to attend to a number of embarrassing complaints from other guests.
DDONGSHENGLocation is in the center of the city, it is very convenient to walk to the Castle Church shopping street, and three cars can be parked in the main hall. Breakfast is very good, Ctrip orders are not early, but the owner said that it is wrong, there should be breakfast. The warm host is very good. The downside is that the room supplies are generally graded and the bathroom is too narrow.
GGuest UserPerfect hotel if you’re visiting the area. Lovely location and views of the river and cathedral. Easy walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants.
Rooms are of a high standard.
Excellent drinks variety with the distillery and brewery on site.
Service is impeccable.
Great breakfast.
GGuest UserReally great Hotel. Cheapest around as well so don’t really get when people book cheap hotels and complain that it’s not 5* 😂. Location is amazing. The Loch is beautiful. Staff are really nice. Rooms have everything you need and are quite spacious. Food is really good although a wee bit expensive but still good sized portions.
MmunirahThe hotel was easy to find, located right by the main road. The rooms were quite small, and with luggage, the space felt a bit tight. However, there was a small outdoor balcony with a table and two chairs, which provided a nice spot to sit and eat.
The rooms looked modern and recently renovated. The bathroom was well-designed, featuring sleek black tiles and gold fixtures, and the hot water worked perfectly. One of the best features of the room was the separate sink area, along with a microwave and fridge. This was especially convenient for heating up food or enjoying ready-to-eat meals from the nearby Aldi if you’re too tired to head out. The room also came with a kettle, coffee, tea, and even a chocolate wafer as a thoughtful welcome touch.
There is no reception desk at this hotel, so it’s important to have internet access as check-in is fully digital. You’ll receive your room number via email just before your arrival. Make sure to complete the online pre-check-in to confirm your stay and receive further instructions.
Overall, it was a comfortable and convenient one-night stay.
GGeoff_Great staff, nice room, very comfy bed but let down by some grubby stains on the carpet and a previous guests medication and yoghurt left in the fridge. Would stay again though
GGuest UserThis hotel located at the highland area of Scotland, I and my wife stayed at this hotel before we driving to Is of Skye.
The room is large and shower room is bright and clean enough. The beds and other equipment inside the room are satisfactory. My price include simple buffet breakfast which I think the food quality is good enough.
Only one disadvantage is, there's no lift and some rooms need to walk up and down staircase, if for elderly or too many luggage travelers, it may a bit inconvenient.
AAnonymous UserRoom was very good and clean but it turned out that you could hear every move of the people in the room above. At 6 am this particular person decided to do his 10000 steps a day in his room and it sounded as if an elephant was marching through. No way to continue your sleep so we ended up having to get up and we left the hotel at 7.15am. I had complained the night before but since the hotel was fully booked there were no other options. I was told it was because of the wooden structure so obviously it was a known issue and they should NOT book both rooms at same time.
They also had 2 dogs behind unmanned reception and one of them yapped continuosly for an hour whilst we had our dinner. As we finished dinner they started bringing out cornflakes etc for breakfast for the following morning and left this uncovered, thought this was very unhygienic.
Alcohol prices way too high too ( bottle of wine £35.50). All in all not a good experience and wouldn't recommend.
