We chose DoubleTree by Hilton because we trusted the Hilton name and wanted to spend our limited holiday somewhere memorable and genuinely pet-friendly. Instead, we spent three days stressed, watched and made to feel that our dogs — and therefore we — were not welcome. We left genuinely sad that precious holiday time had been exchanged for stress and unhappiness. Before booking, we called twice to confirm the pet policy. First, we were told we could choose any room and pay a RMB 300 pet cleaning fee. On the second call, another employee contradicted this. After calls were hung up on us twice while trying to communicate in English, a staff member eventually contacted us through WeChat and confirmed in writing that we could book and pay the RMB 300 fee. When we arrived, the rules changed again. Only after showing staff their own WeChat messages and watching them argue among themselves did they finally proceed. We provided vaccination and registration documents, signed the pet agreement, paid the fee and even allowed staff to photograph our dogs. We then completed check-in, left our belongings and went out for dinner. While we were already away from the hotel, they called saying they wanted to refuse our stay because of our dogs. First they were supposedly “aggressive.” When we explained they had shown zero aggression, we were told they “looked aggressive.” Then they were supposedly too large. Their own definition was over 30 kg, while our documentation showed 28 kg. Our dogs are professionally trained, have training certificates and regularly work as models for pet products. Most importantly, there was not one aggressive incident during the entire stay. Nobody even tried to observe their real temperament before judging them. Even the employee carrying our luggage wanted to photograph them again to report them as aggressive dogs. We refused. They were simply being judged because they were Dobermans. After a long argument, the hotel finally allowed us to remain. We tried to forget the situation and enjoy our holiday. Instead, the constant surveillance began. We followed the hotel’s rules and used the isolated designated pet grass area, far away from other guests. Yet staff who spotted us from a long distance would walk over, follow us, film or photograph us, report us to management and trigger further phone calls about our supposedly “aggressive” dogs. This happened repeatedly with different employees. We felt constantly monitored, as if staff were waiting for an excuse to complain about us. The hotel’s attitude toward animals also contradicted its pet-friendly image. On a very hot day, we noticed animals in the hotel area exposed to the heat without water and appearing overheated. We contacted the hotel. Two hours later, nothing had been done. We had to call and message repeatedly before anyone even agreed to check. General service was equally disappointing. Basic requests required repeated calls and long waits. Our first room remained around 21°C even with the AC switched off or set as high as 30°C. I woke around 2 a.m. because I was so cold and we eventually had to change rooms. The replacement was supposedly another pet-friendly room, directly next door, yet its garden access was locked and it lacked the protective pet sofa cover provided in the previous room. We called three times over more than two hours asking for one because we did not want our dogs dirtying the furniture. Eventually someone arrived — with a sofa pillow. The Western breakfast was also disappointing for this level of hotel. The Chinese selection was reasonable, but the bread and pastries were poor quality. Eventually I had enough and confronted the manager. Instead of addressing his staff’s behavior, he defended it because our dogs are Dobermans. Whe

Everything you'd experience in a tropical rainforest at Yanoda, you'll find here. Secondly, the service is friendly. They provide electric cart transfers for all your movements, saving you the effort of climbing hills. Thirdly, the comfort of the hot springs. We booked a suite for 4 adults and 1 child, which was perfectly spacious. The indoor hot springs were comfortable and enjoyable, allowing us to relax at our leisure. Fourthly, the activities are abundant. Unlike beach resorts in Sanya, the activities here are suitable for all ages, primarily focusing on Li culture. You can make Li incense, sculpt Li pottery, and they offer guided introductions to tropical plants and Li culture led by Li sisters. They even picked ripe figs for us to eat. For people from the north and children, the experience is truly enriching. Fifthly, the food is excellent. When in Hainan, it's usually vinegar pork or seafood. Here, we enjoyed Li cuisine, including Five-Legged Pig and Flying Chicken, which was the most satisfying meal for me, with the wild vegetable soup being a particular highlight. The whole family enjoyed it immensely, the set meal price was very reasonable, and we added more dishes. Besides the good points, there are some minor drawbacks, mainly that the hotel has been around for some years, so the facilities are a bit outdated. I stayed at Bird's Nest thirteen years ago, but if I had to recommend, I'd suggest Anlan more. You get a similar experience for half the price, and I'd also recommend staying for two nights for a more suitable visit.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. It exceeded my expectations. The pictures of the rooms on trip.com did not look that great but once I opened the door to my room I realised the rooms were very nice, spacious, clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We received great service from Beth in reception ( checked us in very quickly, her English was great) and Eric in the dining area who made our stay delightful.

Absolutely perfect! I initially thought it was an old hotel, but it completely won me over with its service and consistent quality. First off, there's the Kids' Creativity Park, offering all sorts of fun activities and photo ops for children. Secondly, I just found out it's part of the Marriott family of hotels. The staff were incredibly patient; I can't remember the name of the front desk attendant who helped us, but they kept my ID safe after I lost it, bringing me the joy of finding something I thought was gone forever. The Wi-Fi signal in our room was poor, but the 'little butler' (concierge) and front desk staff patiently came to our room multiple times to help us troubleshoot. The hotel is also very close to the beach, and you can even spot squirrels on the walk there. The kids had an absolute blast, especially with the sand bikes! It's truly the perfect hotel for families. I recommended it to friends the very next day, and they also stayed there for two nights the following Tuesday, reporting a truly excellent experience. Another plus is that there are lots of foreign children here, and everyone seems so happy and relaxed! Plus, they're very delivery-friendly; you can order anything you want, which is a huge bonus. It was a fantastic experience, and I might even come back for a second stay!

This hotel is perfect for families traveling with older kids who plan to drive and participate in activities like surfing, off-roading, and fruit picking in Lingshui. The hotel's pool is big enough for the kids to splash around after a long day. Plus, the underwater scooters here are cheaper than those at resorts in Yalong Bay and Haitang Bay. The breakfast offers great value for money, and you can tell the chef puts a lot of effort into it, with some unique options. Of course, when you're looking for value, you don't expect meticulous service. During my stay, it happened to be my birthday. I hesitated for a while about whether to stay here on my birthday, thinking that at this price point, there wouldn't be any birthday surprises. Since I couldn't change hotels, I figured I'd just deal with it and make up for it by going to Haitang Bay the next day. And sure enough, I wasn't disappointed – there was no surprise, haha! But honestly, the value for money is excellent. Birthday surprises and little touches like farewell gifts at checkout aren't necessary. I still recommend it! :)

An established Pullman 5-star hotel. The public areas of this Nanyang-style resort are beautifully designed. The in-room amenities and decor also exude a strong Nanyang vibe. This Pullman has been around for a while, so the elevators and in-room facilities have a vintage feel. However, the overall maintenance is quite good, and they still function well enough. The room isn't huge, but the layout is nice. The large mirror and hardware in the bathroom are very high-quality, showing that the hotel put thought into its selections. The mattress was too soft, making it uncomfortable to sleep. Room cleanliness was very good. The toothbrush is made of bamboo, and the toothpaste comes in paper packaging, which I haven't encountered in other 5-star hotels. It would be even better if the bristles were softer. Overall, the cleanliness and service were good. At breakfast, dishes weren't refilled quickly enough after running out, but the view outside the restaurant is fantastic. The pool and hot spring areas are also very beautiful.

No fancy butler service here, just genuinely attentive service that made my stay incredibly comfortable. The room came with a dehumidifier, which was a lifesaver for a seaside room! The frangipani flowers falling into the pool were beautiful. The conditioner was excellent; my hair wasn't frizzy the next day, which speaks well for their toiletries! My only complaint is that as an out-of-towner, I couldn't understand a word the front desk lady rattled off. Her speech was so fast! If they don't want to explain properly, they should just print it out, there's no need to talk like a machine gun! Breakfast was just okay; it could be improved. With so many delicious fruits in Hainan, why serve such tasteless pineapple?!

AI recently stayed at Nanshan Temple Muyin, Qinghuandu Rainforest View Hotel, and overall, it was a very peaceful and enjoyable experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with all amenities in excellent condition, which made my stay truly relaxing. The service was excellent. The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable. A great example of this was when I tried to work out at the gym, which is located outdoors and had flooring that wasn’t ideal. The staff noticed me exercising and promptly offered an exercise mat so that my clothes would not get dirty. This thoughtful gesture left a positive impression. The hotel facilities were generally good, and the serene environment around the property added to the experience. The food was okay—not bad, but nothing particularly outstanding. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall comfort of my stay. In summary, Nanshan Temple Muyin, Qinghuandu Rainforest View Hotel is a great choice for those looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent service and comfortable rooms, even if the dining experience could be improved slightly.

We went in mid June, rainy season so it was low season. For the price that we paid for the 2 bedroom villa, which included breakfast (at another hotel) entry to ocean park, The Five Country Hot Spring City, and personal shuttle bus service within the island. I think it was well worth it. Service was prompt and courteous, although communication was all through WeChat and in Chinese. Convenient but knowing sone Chinese would be better to utilize services . We stayed in the Japanese style villa, and it was tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. We especially loved having our own dry and steam sauna, and our own personal outdoor hot spring bath! Real hot spring mineral water! I recommend this place especially for people who love hot spring baths and want to avoid busy touristy hotels. Cleanliness: overall quite clean. Location: walking distance to ocean park and hot spring city, so quite convenient. 5-10 minutes shuttle ride to most places within the island. Service: knowing someone is available 24 hours was nice. They were eager to help with whatever we needed. The main concierge during the day was more friendly, competent and experienced. Amenities: everything we needed was provided. There was a Dyson hair dryer, fridge etc. If you are picky about your shampoo soaps etc, you may want to bring your own. But they do provide them.

Another enjoyable stay! I specifically returned to this hotel, and once again, housekeeper Junyan was as thoughtful and attentive as ever, providing reassuring service. This time, I booked a family room which was a great experience – clean and comfortable, and my child had a wonderful time. The entire stay was very satisfying, and I always have a great experience when I come here. This was my second stay, and this time I booked the forest-themed family room, which again provided an excellent experience. Housekeeper Junyan's service was just as thoughtful and meticulous, making communication smooth and worry-free throughout. The room was tidy and comfortable, perfect for traveling with children. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay and will choose this place again if I have the opportunity. Housekeeper Junyan is truly excellent!
