Położony blisko stacji Shichijo i Kioto.
We really liked the beauty of the place, the cleanliness of the hotel, the friendly hall staff, and so you can really relax. The Breakfast was really delicious. This hotel is a highly recommended.
This hotel is located in a convenient place within the centre of amanohashidate. If you are planning for a stay in this hotel, you should go for the newly refurbished rooms instead of the traditional rooms which are old and obsolete.
The newly refurbished rooms are modern, with nice decoration and if you opt for a room with private open-air bath, I’m sure you will definitely love it!

Polecam. Jeśli planujesz pobyt w Kioto, koniecznie zajrzyj do tego hotelu. Jest naprawdę dobry.
It is just opposite the Amanohashidate train station. Location is excellent for those not driving. There is no convenient store around the place. Recommended to book the dinner with the hotel as shops closed early there. Dinner is excellent and very filling. Room has a nice view of the lake.

I quite like this resort. They are very near a train station and the bamboo forest. There’s free amenities like comb, cotton etc. Drinks machine provided at the lobby which is a great touch from the resort to the customers. Love their private onsen bath. They have 5 different private onsen bath rooms and most of the time it is available. We opted for breakfast and dinner and it was a great decision. It changes everyday. For dinner it’s like a semi buffet, you can order the tempura free flow. They provide ramen for supper. Overall I will recommend this hotel and will come back if there’s another chance.

This hotel’s location is prefect. It’s just right opposite to the JR Kyoto station. The side of room is considered specious than other Japanese hotels. This hotel also offers free ramen from 21:30-23:00. Will stay this hotel for sure for my next Kyoto trip.

It was beautifully decorated with European and classy style. Take Exit 5 via Kyoto Ace hotel B2 life up to ground floor when you have luggages as JP mostly come with staircases. Nice room, sufficient space for toiletries and there is a noodle shop called Menya Yukou that is a must-try.

Great
IiamnotdelicateThe basic room type isn't in the main building; you have to walk up to the main building each time to have breakfast or soak in the onsen (hot spring). And it's not a real onsen; my friend's superior room was the real onsen. We were given a small room at the back of the hotel, but thankfully there weren't too many graves.
When I asked the staff at the entrance to take photos for me, they were very reluctant and had a sour face. At night, on my way back to my room from my friend's, the receptionist on duty in the lobby was also very rude. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service.
The facilities are excellent, very new, and the hotel is quite small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The decor is also very nice; the aesthetics are on point.
There are at least three cemeteries and a bunch of shrines nearby; bring some amulets if you like.
DDoraemon_73Great hotel with relaxing onsen facilities, perfect after a long day of exploring. Complimentary coffee and free laundry are thoughtful perks that make the stay very convenient. The room is also very spacious, which adds to the overall comfort. Location is excellent — just a short distance from Kyoto Station, making it easy to get around. Overall, a comfortable and value-for-money stay.

GGuest UserMy dad took the kids here and raved about it! He said it was super clean, the garden design was beautiful, and the breakfast buffet was great. You have to change into slippers and socks when you enter, and they provide yukatas. You can even choose your own pillow! They have both public and private hot springs. We didn't have to wait long for the private one, and after your soak, you get free ice cream. They even offer complimentary noodles for a late-night snack. The location is really convenient too.

GGuest UserThis was our favourite hotel from our whole trip (Tokyo,Kyoto, Osaka). It felt traditional but modern and very clean with no shoes allowed inside. It was great having a separate space for the parents in the room and it came complete with all the amenities. It’s close to the station, onsen and the best massage chair we’ve ever used on site to relax after a full day of exploring and had unlimited icecream/ yakult/ drinks plus ramen too. Will definitely book this again for future trips.

HHaininglujiWhat a pleasant surprise this hotel was! The attention to detail is truly exceptional, and the service is incredibly warm and welcoming. The hotel's cleanliness is impeccable. They also have a rooftop open-air bar where you can soak your feet while enjoying the scenery and a drink – it's absolutely wonderful, especially in the dead of winter. Plus, there's an outdoor hot spring, which is very clean and offers great views. They provide complimentary coffee, matcha, hot chocolate, sparkling drinks, and cold beverages, all available for unlimited consumption every day. I highly recommend the hot chocolate with ice cubes; it's so rich and delicious.
The hotel's location is superb. Takashimaya is right outside, and there are tons of great restaurants nearby. It's also very close to all the major attractions.
Aside from the room being a bit small, everything else was absolutely perfect. I'll definitely choose to stay here again whenever I visit Kyoto.
MMumutu0417My Kyoto trip was particularly satisfying with this Kyoto townhouse. It had a garden, a private hot spring bath, and was brimming with Japanese charm. The breakfasts were especially delightful, with a wide variety and different dishes each day. After breakfast, there was also a traditional Kyoto matcha and carefully selected sweets; the owner even patiently explained the proper way to drink the matcha.
It's a bit far from the subway, but there are several bus stops nearby, making it quite convenient. Strolling along Kyoto's charming streets and discovering hidden gems of little shops was also a delightful experience.
GGuest UserThe surroundings and the village are very pleasant. The hotel itself offers an interesting experience, staying in a rather dilapidated building with minimal amenities. You can really get a sense of what it might have been like to travel in Japan in the second half of the 20th century. Everything is very old and outdated, but that just adds to the charm. The onsen is nice, and I especially enjoyed the round outdoor bath. However, I really didn't enjoy the breakfast or dinner.
The staff were acceptable, but I wasn't a fan of the main administrator or whoever that person was – very overly familiar, insincere, and affected.
There's no value for money here. I definitely wouldn't go back a second time. But overall, I don't regret the experience.
AAnonymous UserOur recent stay at Ujo Soan was, without exaggeration, the finest hospitality experience I have encountered in my 20 years of traveling across Japan. From the moment we arrived, the level of service was nothing short of superb.
There are three highlights that made our stay truly unforgettable:
1. Exceptional Culinary Surprise: We were deeply touched by the hotel's generosity in providing a complimentary upgrade to the prestigious ”Tsuiyama Blue Label Crab” set. The quality of the crab and the meticulous preparation were world-class—a true gastronomic journey.
2. Breathtaking Sunset Views: Spending time at the Lounge ”AO” on the 8th floor of Bettei Fuka was a spiritual experience. Watching the sunset over the Kyotango coastline with a drink in hand is a memory we will cherish forever.
3. Outstanding Service (Sakura-san): A special mention must go to Sakura-san. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail were exemplary. She anticipated our every need and represents the very best of Japanese Omotenashi.
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Mr. Yasuhiko Okita and the General Manager, Mr. Nakanishi, for maintaining such an incredible standard of excellence.
If you are looking for a sanctuary that combines luxury, nature, and heartfelt service, Ujo Soan is the only choice. We cannot wait to return.
GGuest UserThis is the kind of traditional Japanese inn I love. The bathhouse is located outside the residence, keeping the room from getting damp and clogged. There's also a sense of ritual about going to and from the bathhouse. The bathhouses are separate for men and women, and shoes need to be removed at the entrance, so if you're shy, you can avoid them by seeing slippers by the entrance. Mornings and late evenings are the most pleasant, and rainy days are especially pleasurable. The breakfast and dinner meals are even better than those at Kyoto ryokan (Japanese inns). The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the utensils and presentation are beautiful. Sanzen-in Temple is just a short walk away, so you can go early, but I recommend Hosen-in Temple, less than 100 meters away. Refreshments are included with your admission ticket, and it's rightly called the ”Picture Frame Garden.” Sit quietly for a long day and relax.
GGuest UserBeautiful peaceful hotel! 15 mins walk to River, mountain, bridge etc. Have 5 private baths which are accessible in 24 hrs,but the public bath super good too. ( both open air and indoor , very clean with sauna) Has salt bath scrub and facial exfoliation products which you can try and buy at the souvenir shop. Has free coffee and matcha latte the whole day. Provides yakult, apple cider and black soy bean tea in specific hours. Has Yukata of different colors to choose. Helpful and knowledgeable staff, particularly Mr Chang, he was patient to answer your questions and helped book taxis if you need to. Lastly to mention is the breakfast, the grilled salmon or other fish has small bones. (Hope hotel can warn the tourists on this.) Big rooms. Suitable for family and solo travellers.
