I had some familiarity with the lore of the Fairmont Royal York -- that it was the real deal, king of the classic Canadian grans railway hotels, etc. And when I arrived, my first impression was that perhaps it didn't live up to its formidable reputation. It quickly became clear, however -- from looking at the quality and design of the armchair, the understated colour palette, the quietly sophisticated art hanging on the walls, the sumptuous nature of the robe hanging there in the closet -- that this was a kind of luxury and prestige that didn't feel the need to prove itself. With so many four- and five-star hotels taking part in a glitzy, maximal globalization-era ”look at this, this here, you see, is luxury,” it was truly refreshing to see real self-confidence -- real prestige -- in this kind of vaguely British understated quality. The Fairmont Royal York is the Fairmont Royal York: it will not let you down.

The hotel has only 17 floors, and the others are apartments, which are generally good - swimming pool 🏊🏻 sauna - gym is great👍👍👍 But the use of lockers in the locker room is inside the cabinet door, so pay attention to it! The free amount of breakfast is 112 dollars, and if you exceed it, you may pay the difference yourself. The hotel lobby is far from Shangri-La in China! Maybe the national conditions are different.

We loved the food and drinks in the hotels restaurants and bar. It was a great trip! Bonus, the view from the hotel's 44th floor was the best we found in Toronto!

Possibly one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. However, I can’t give full 5 stars to Hotel St. Regis Toronto for reasons that I’ll explain later. On the subject of location, the Hotel St. Regis in Toronto is in a very fantastic location in downtown Toronto with many of the city’s main sights and attractions (CN Tower, St. Lawrence’s Market and Yonge-Dundas square) all within short walking distance from this hotel. Readily accessible through RideShare apps too. Regarding staff, they were super friendly and helpful, in our experience. We initially had some debit card issues at check-in and admittedly, we should have been better-prepared for the credit card culture in North America. Thankfully, St. Regis were very flexible and our debit card issues were eventually resolved. I’m truly impressed by how accommodating St. Regis are for those of us who are from places that very rarely use credit cards. The offer of complimentary water at check-in was also appreciated. The housekeeping team, especially the Filipinos, were very thorough, kept our suite spotless and respected guest privacy. And on check-out experience, this is where St. Regis Toronto loses points for me. The check-out process took way longer than what is typically expected especially for a 5-star location (should be ＜10 min but took about 30 min for us). Unfortunately, a bit of the little time we have left in Toronto was wasted. What’s also disappointing was this time, there was no offer of complimentary drinks (even tap water, which is free and generally safe to drink in Toronto) while we wait. Admittedly, the staff seemed overwhelmed and visibly stressed during the time we were trying to check-out but I hope the situation improves for the St. Regis Toronto team in the future. On the atmosphere, it was magnificent and luxurious. These two words came to mind when we first entered the lobby. The grandiose look of Hotel St. Regis in Toronto permeated the whole building, from the hallways to our suite. In terms of our room, we booked the Grand Suite which was on the 28th floor and the views from up there, especially at night, were phenomenal. Our suite was very spacious and generally had plenty of storage room. St. Regis Toronto also loses some points here when it comes to storage since we found that there was insufficient storage space for cold items and there was no freezer either. The heated floors and the walk-in shower were also fantastic. The accent wall, mood lighting, clever use of marble for the room design and chandeliers were wonderful touches too, contributing to the luxurious atmosphere of this hotel. The living area of the Grand Suite was our favourite area, especially at night. I’m going to mention the views from the Grand Suite again as they were truly spectacular. On the online engagement. at the time of writing, I found the low level of engagement by St. Regis Toronto with online reviewers here at Google disappointing. It’s close to many restaurants and a short walking distance to attractions like St. Lawrence Market, the Hockey Hall of Fame, Scotiabank Arena, Eaton Centre, etc. We didn’t need to use our car during our stay.

Because the hotel is just across the road and close to the subway station, the facilities introduced are also good, so I chose this hotel without hesitation. After I stayed, I felt very bad. It was the worst hotel I stayed in in Canada. I checked in the first night. We checked in at Niagara Falls and it was almost nine o'clock in the evening. We booked a double bed. The room was gone, and Ctrip could only change rooms the next day after the negotiation, and the trouble caused naturally need not be said; the next morning, I found that there was a reminder of the consumer text message at 3 o'clock in the hotel on the credit card. How to get it out was inexplicable, and it scared me to quickly close the credit card transaction function. Later, I was fortunate to have Ctrip help to solve it in a timely manner; I finally changed to a twin room the next night. Unexpectedly, this room was near the subway and it was too noisy to sleep all night . Fortunately, we stayed at this hotel for only two days! The most profound lesson is that when you deposit at the front desk of the hotel lobby, do not leave your credit card with your credit card, and do not easily give it to the front desk customer service. Special thanks also to Ctrip's customer service for helping to solve all the problems effectively and timely!

Food was excellent. Hockey families were put next to Airline employees causing drama every day. These groups should be kept together with Pilots on quiet floors. We don’t enjoy being yelled at by others including employees and security. Parking fees are high and all car chargers are broken. I would have to choose a hotel with functional chargers when we return next month.

The staff is fantastic! It was a 20 minute walk to scotia bank arena. The towels and the bedding didn’t smell fresh. I’m sure they are clean maybe their laundry machines need to be replaced. Overall we had a comfortable stay.

Starbucks in building Comfy bed Housekeeping comes daily Quiet Cons Not all rooms have couch/sofa bed Bathroom door doesn’t have a lock, it’s a sliding door No blackout shades so room gets bright as som comes up $50 to valet and 35 to park at a lot around the corner Our bathroom didn’t feel clean, had a smell Hotel seems more for business not for couples or family Pool area is in lower level, doesn’t look like pictures, no window Dirty dishes from room service from another room was in the hall for 3 days and no one picked it up I had requested a higher floor room, asked for a room with a sofa bed…and extra towels. I got none of the requested. Was offered a cot. Sometimes you get back from excursions you want to kick off your shoes and relax on couch with your other half not get in the bed all sweaty and dirty…we got a room with a single chair. The cot was so uncomfortable with a huge dip in the middle. Room on 2nd floor had a view of valet. No extra towels provided. Only gave you new water bottles on first day. I felt like the room was overpriced. Bathroom had a smell to it. Mildew maybe? Couldn’t pinpoint the smell.

Fantastic service, super-clean and spacious rooms, great views, and lovely amenities! The only problem encountered was the tv remote was not working properly in the room; it was too late to call down to ask for a maintenance call by the time I discovered this, but I have confidence they would have fixed the issue right away. Used the indoor/outdoor pool, even though it was frigidly cold. Was very enjoyable. Would have liked to see the pool floor cleaned a little better as there was some debris. Couldn't seem to turn on the light in the sauna while I was there, but it was pleasantly warm nonetheless. Tried the Frenchy's bar for the first time, and the cocktails were delicious, the service top-notch. Happy to visit again!

We stayed four nights at the hotel. The check in was quick and easy. The housekeeping services each day were very good. The restaurant onsite was not open but there are several coffee shops in the immediate area so that wasn't a problem. The public transit was close by and it easy to access. The reason we won't give the hotel five stars is because the WiFi was terrible. The routers were old and not secure, the service was very slow and we were not impressed.

Got to the hotel a little after 9 am as my flight got in earlier than expected. It was raining and cold. Was wondering if they'd have a room that early to give me and yes they did😁😃😄I was checked in immediately and given a room on the 29th floor. Lovely room with a view of CN TOWER. Nothing was lacking. Room was fully equipped with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. All the staff I encountered during my 4 night's stay was very pleasant and helpful. I am looking forward to my next trip to Toronto in August and I will be rebook this hotel for sure. I would definitely recommend staying here. Thanks to everyone there who made my stay there a memorable one.

It was a very nice and well equipped studio apartment with a beautiful view of the CN Tower. There is public parking very close to where we parked our car. The reception is in another building, on the same street and on the other side of the sidewalk. You have to go there first and introduce yourself and get the key. It is a residential building. The decor of our apartment was very nice and modern, modern kitchen. He took care of us very well during the 3 days we were there.

The hotel was fantastic, great location and great facilities. The staff were also top class, extremely helpful and polite. Nathaly on reception ensured we were not only up to date of what the hotel could offer but provide a city map and pointed out lots of areas of interest for us to explore. Matthew in the concierge team was equally helpful and polite, leading use directly into the subway from the hotel to prevent us needing to carry heavy cases down the steep steps at the external entrance. My parents were there for my mums surgery (it is right opposite St Michael's Hospital) for the third time, I reached out to the hotel to request an early check in and for them just to extend extra care as I am in Vancouver and could not be there(travel restrictions). Shivani from the Marketing Team was quick to respond to my request, she assured me the message had been conveyed to the concerned persons at the hotel and my parents would be well taken care off, my mum called me right after they check in, not only were they given a CLEAN, SAFE, BEAUTIFUL, SPACIOUS HOTEL ROOM, they had such a warm welcome and Pela the receptionist actually remembered them from the last time they stayed. It is during these trialing times that these hospitality industry leaders serve as true heroes as they continue to create treasured experiences for people despite the conditions they are going through, the worry of what will happen to them tomorrow..... Just the comfort of knowing from miles away that my parents at the Pantages were 'at home' was indeed a priceless experience. We will keep booking Pantages when in Downtown Toronto for their amazing service and for always being ready to go the extra mile for their guests and I strongly recommend this hotel to any guest.....

We did a one nighter staycation! hung around the pool all day, ate at the patio restaurant, that had excellent service and food. Room was fine, balcony was a definite perk, only problem was a tree a little to the left of our balcony....someone had thrown something into the tree, it actually looked like underwear! So we just kind of didn't look that way. Maybe we should have told someone lol, but then what, some poor employee has to take a ladder to a tree to retrieve underwear?? Wasn't going to be us who called. We also hung out later in the evening at the in-door pool. Its awesome the ceiling. A must see! Anyway, all was great. We would stay there again for sure, with the hope someone got that underwear down from the balconies view haha. It's a great hotel.

Our only sadness about the place was that the pool and other facilities were closed, but we didn't go for the pool. They were able to let us use the nearby Delta, which was nice but we didn't want to go outside of the complex for that. Common thing that happens in December/January so we weren't too shocked. We were on the club floor for the hors d'oeuvres, for what you get compared to other high end chains that offer this, we noticed there was much more choice of food items. The lounge seemed to be a little dirty and shabby, the chairs have not been steam cleaned for quite some time, you could see the dirt in the morning sunlight where people have wiped their hands on the furniture over the years. We noticed the little things, and on one of the hot table stations they missed a small speck of the curry sauce from the night before on the edge of the serving dish. It didn't affect the food quality, nor did it warrant a complaint, but attention to detail could be a little better on the part of the kitchen staff. The customer service was amazing at this hotel, everyone was so friendly and attentive. Despite all this, we will be back.

The staff at the Ritz-Carlton Toronto made this vacation so memorable for our family. From the time we checked in, Devan worked to provide us with an amazing room & make us feel welcome. We appreciate his efforts. Our son turned 8 the day before we arrived. They left a balloon and special dessert for him in the room. We cannot say enough nice things about the Club Lounge staff. Olga, Emma and Oana welcomed us each day and went out of their way to make sure we felt at home. Rose & Pricilla were incredibly kind to get to know our family and ask about any needs we may have had. Rose even had popcorn and snacks sent to our room for a movie night for our family. Additionally, she contacted a special bar (BarChef) nearby to make a reservation. You can tell that it is important that her guests enjoy their experiences. I had the chance to meet the club floor manager, Max Reidel, and he too was extremely gracious with everything. I encourage other travelers to book the Club Lounge for your stay. I spent a day at the spa and was impressed with my massage, the staff and atmosphere. Our family also had the afternoon tea one day - it was delicious! We can't wait to come back. We will book the Club Lounge for sure!

We think that our DELUXE room is oddly set-up. The bed is in the middle of the room. TV is in front of the bed. You can watch TV if you are in bed or sitting at a narrow table behind the headboard. The sofa is against the wall & faces the back of the TV. The worst feature is a low wall separating the bath from the rest of the room. There is a privacy curtain.. The result is that there is no sound or good light separation between the bath & bed. Any sound in the bath room will be heard by the other person in the room. The refrigerator is a square one with not much room. No coffee machine or microwave. Free coffee & hot water downstairs in the morning but that was not mentioned on checking in. A big bath but no separation between toilet & the rest; the toilet faces the shower. .Separate shower & tub. The shower could use some minor repair. For us the big tub is a waste of space. I stayed with Samesun in Toronto in Mars 2023. They have a 24 h open reception. The check in went smoothly, the rooms, bathrooms and showers were clean! You have a charger and a small lamp by your bed and curtains to separate yourself from the other’s. The best thing about the stay was the free of charge breakfast in the morning! Coffee, bagels, waffles, cereal, fruit etc.. so nice.

Our only sadness about the place was that the pool and other facilities were closed, but we didn't go for the pool. They were able to let us use the nearby Delta, which was nice but we didn't want to go outside of the complex for that. Common thing that happens in December/January so we weren't too shocked. We were on the club floor for the hors d'oeuvres, for what you get compared to other high end chains that offer this, we noticed there was much more choice of food items. The lounge seemed to be a little dirty and shabby, the chairs have not been steam cleaned for quite some time, you could see the dirt in the morning sunlight where people have wiped their hands on the furniture over the years. We noticed the little things, and on one of the hot table stations they missed a small speck of the curry sauce from the night before on the edge of the serving dish. It didn't affect the food quality, nor did it warrant a complaint, but attention to detail could be a little better on the part of the kitchen staff. The customer service was amazing at this hotel, everyone was so friendly and attentive. Despite all this, we will be back.

Helped a customer to book a room, but the original hotel price included 2 breakfasts. For some reason, when the customer checked in, the hotel front desk informed him that breakfast was not included. The customer went out to have breakfast by himself for 2 days, which was very embarrassing. However, after 2 days, the customer informed that there was no meal, and immediately contacted customer service. Ctrip housekeeper Xuejuan was serious and responsible. After actively contacting the foreign agent, the compensation for 2 nights of breakfast was repaid. I have to give a thumbs up to Ctrip housekeeper Xuejuan, but as far as I know, We know that overseas Ctrip agents often have similar situations, often missing breakfast for guests when booking rooms. Regardless of the reason, we hope that Ctrip will carefully select high-quality overseas agents to avoid missing guests’ breakfast rights.

Because the hotel is just across the road and close to the subway station, the facilities introduced are also good, so I chose this hotel without hesitation. After I stayed, I felt very bad. It was the worst hotel I stayed in in Canada. I checked in the first night. We checked in at Niagara Falls and it was almost nine o'clock in the evening. We booked a double bed. The room was gone, and Ctrip could only change rooms the next day after the negotiation, and the trouble caused naturally need not be said; the next morning, I found that there was a reminder of the consumer text message at 3 o'clock in the hotel on the credit card. How to get it out was inexplicable, and it scared me to quickly close the credit card transaction function. Later, I was fortunate to have Ctrip help to solve it in a timely manner; I finally changed to a twin room the next night. Unexpectedly, this room was near the subway and it was too noisy to sleep all night . Fortunately, we stayed at this hotel for only two days! The most profound lesson is that when you deposit at the front desk of the hotel lobby, do not leave your credit card with your credit card, and do not easily give it to the front desk customer service. Special thanks also to Ctrip's customer service for helping to solve all the problems effectively and timely!

The location is unrivaled and excellent, the staff are very polite and enthusiastic, and as a ”cleanliness” I am also very satisfied with the hygiene. There are two disadvantages: the subway in room 535 is too loud, there is a subway passing through the underground every few minutes, it is very noisy! The shower water in the bathroom is too small, which is very unpleasant. Therefore, if you come again, you will definitely not choose 535 and similar rooms.

My wife and I stayed at the Windsor Arms September 16-19, 2022. On Saturday we returned to the hotel around 10:30 PM, tired from a full day of sightseeing. We found the entire ground floor of the hotel occupied by screaming young people celebrating a wedding, and the ballroom dominated by a very raucous band. Needless to say, we were unable to sleep. When we called the desk to request that the amplifier be turned down, we were flatly refused. No relief; forget it, we have a party going on. Our second call did not even elicit sympathy from Calvin; he seemed affronted that we would even call to complain. To add insult to injury, when we finally drifted off to sleep after 1:00 AM, we were abruptly awakened by, not one, but two different phone calls--presumably Calvin venting his anger at our complaint. When we checked out on September 19, I complained to the desk attendant and requested some compensation for our inconvenience. She very quickly informed me that would be ”impossible.” I asked to see her supervisor and was told that ”only the ”owner” could grant relief. Of course he was not present, and she refused to give me his name or contact information. She did promise to have him call me--what a hoax. Two weeks have passed without any call, and without any apology. Bottom line: don't come to the Winsor Arms for a good night's sleep. Mike Henke

This is a terrible hotel. Not only is the hotel a dump, the location is awful. Located at the corner of King and Queen streets in Toronto, it is directly beside the TTC Streetcar turnaround. Noisy screeching sounds made it impossible to sleep. The room itself was a health hazard - soiled towels and stained bedspread - I'm not sure the linens were even washed! I found a Bic lighter in between the sheets! The bathtub had peeling enamel and rusty fittings; the tub faucet was lose and therefor difficult to adjust the water temperature; there was hair on the bathtub surround; window in the bathroom had no lock and had been left open. The wall paper was ripped, the door to the bathroom had punch holes;...I could go on and on. It was a disgrace! Oh, and no parking, which was never identified on the website. Shame on you Howard Johnson and Wyndham Hotels!! Someone from your corporate office needs to go and inspect this hotel as soon as possible. I will never stay at another Howard Johnson Hotel! I can't believe they had to nerve to charge money to stay there. The franchisee is clearly squeezing every penny out of this tired and sad building. Stay away! I stayed the night only because I arrived in the evening and had a funeral to attend early the next morning.

The suite hotel room is spacious, you can put an extra bed in the living room, and charge 25 Canadian dollars a day before tax. The kitchen facilities are complete, including utensils, which is convenient for family travel. The hotel is strategically located, 4 minutes walk from the subway station. The hotel has an underground parking lot. 30 Canadian dollars per day before tax. The basement is equipped with a public coin-operated washing machine and dryer, one to two Canadian dollars each time. There is also a larger indoor swimming pool. Although it is a bit dated, it is generally good.

The location is perfect, a ten-minute walk from the Union Station and just adjacent to the ferry pier to Toronto Island. The ferry just cost 8.70 CAD for round trip for 20 mins. It is a nice place to visit, especially those who enjoy nature. We booked a room facing the lake, which is highly recommended. It is a real picture taken in the early morning from the window. The room service is nice and the buffet breakfast with lots of varieties of food. I needed to have a zoom meeting, and the internet service is stable. Though it is a paid service, it was waived as I am Bonvoy Member. Do join their membership.
