"The rooms were just remodeled so they were clean but there was working going on the main floor which wasn’t clean. The gym was closed so that was an inconvenience for me. Also, we had to be escorted to our rooms because the key system wasn’t working yet from the remodeling. All of this and the place didn’t provide any accommodations for the inconveniences."

"As Iowa State alumni, the building made us feel like we were on campus. For an affordable rate, we enjoyed our stay more than the average hotel at a similar price point. This hotel offers a pool, hot tub and jacuzzi. Even though the facilities seemed a bit dated, we felt they were clean and enjoyed them greatly. The room was not so exciting but it seemed clean. I appreciated the lighting, including dimmers for night lights in the bedroom and bathroom. We tried the IowaStater in-house restaurant for breakfast. If you’re looking for a Midwest breakfast with all of the staples, they served us a memorable omelet with some of the best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had. All of the staff we met were kind and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to be close to campus."

"First couple days were great, however on our last day we wanted to stay another night but they couldn’t find us in their system, so the employee said I could just stay and when his boss woke up he would come down and fix it. He also told me I could stay pass check in since we were waiting for the boss. Fast forward a couple hours boss was still not up yet so I decided to cancel reservation on my phone since it wasn’t showing in their system anyways. I got my stuff out and planned to go to another hotel and an hour later the boss called me, sounded incredibly disrespectful saying if I was planning to leave I shouldn’t have stayed past check out (11) I proceeded to tell him his employee couldn’t figure it out and that we waited a few hours for him so then I finally cancelled. He still continued to talk rude to me saying I didn’t have the right to stay and I told him his employee was the one who told me to wait and stay longer. Overall cleanliness was good, rooms were nice, but whoever the boss is, needs to either learn how to start talking with respect, or give his employees a lecture on the dos and don’ts."

"The hotel is quite new, the room is good, the bedding is very comfortable, the hotel is also very safe, there is a tornado in the middle of the night, there is no impact in the room, the only drawback is that the hotel does not have a room cleaning every day by default, if there is no prior request, the room is not cleaned by no one, Name it for the safety of the guests, okay 😑"

"I booked this hotel for 3 nights and i didn’t have room service any of nights. When i asked they said they did come and cleaned my room but the truth is they lied. When i forced them they replied they saw DND card on my door. I only pit DND card for the first night cause i was too tired then never put back. Horrible receptionist, his temper was too bad. In one time he started to smacking the table with his hands. This hotel employees are liar and horrible with service. Never again."

"Loya's Little House was an absolute gem in Iowa! The atmosphere is peaceful and the story of the house is interesting too. We stayed in Loya's room, and it is very comfortable and quiet. But the best part of all was the breakfast the next morning, it is like eating in a 5-star restaurant."
