"I have stayed 3 nights here and have enjoyed every bit of it. I stayed in a single room, it is compact but very decently sized for a solo traveller. It’s clean, comfortable and cosy. Though it’s already May, the temperature did drop to single-digit during my stay so I really appreciate that my room was still comfortably warm. There’s breakfast served 7-10am every morning; just light continental style but sufficient. The hotel is tastefully decorated and all the staff I met have been really lovely and polite. They may not be at the reception all the time but you may reach them via the phone at the counter and they will be over very shortly. Location is great too, barely 5mins walk from the train station and 7mins walk to the supermarket (COOP). I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation."

"Od chwili, gdy dotarliśmy do tego uroczego miasta i zobaczyliśmy fasadę Hotelu Appenzell, czułem się, jakbym naprawdę przyjechał do Szwajcarii. Zostaliśmy tylko na jedną noc, ale to było miłe miejsce do pobytu. Nasz pokój był duży z Starym Światowym Charmą. Zjedliśmy kolację w ich jadalni i było bardzo dobrze. Śniadanie było również dobre i zanim wyjechaliśmy, poszliśmy na ich piekarnię i zrobili kanapki, aby zabrać z nami jeść w naszym pociągu. Wyjechaliśmy na górę Appenzell, gdzie mieli wspaniałe widoki na cały obszar. Zdecydowanie polecamy tu pobyt!"

"While I was staying here, I unfortunately became I’ll and had to go to hospital, leaving the rest of my group to go on without me. I felt very frightened and alone, however when I arrived back from the hospital, the staff put me to bed and then crept in every few hours to check on me. As soon as they saw I was awake, they brought me hearty soup to feed me. Honestly, they couldn’t have been kinder, they looked after me for a full week, till I was able to go on with my trip! It is weird when you’re sick overseas, not hearing your own language, not feeling able to explain just what is wrong. But with the staff at this hotel, there was no need to worry, they just looked after me as though I was a relative. I can’t recommend them more highly!"

"We only stayed there one night for a family reunion. A lovely hotel; very conveniently situated directly on the square. Very friendly staff and a lovely room. Enjoyed an excellent dinner in the hotel with a very efficient, helpful waiter (Bavarian with a Austrian accent). Would certainly recommend."
