"My husband and I stayed here for three nights over Memorial Day weekend. We had a very pleasant stay- the unit though small was clean and sufficient for our needs, the kitchen area was adequately stocked, the bathroom was clean and the water was warm. The room air conditioner and heater worked well, and the bed was comfortable. The caretaker was friendly and helpful. They maintain a barn where one can pick up additional stuff like hair dryers and toothpaste tubes. The only small issue was that there was some leakage near the wash basin, but we covered it with an extra towel. Wifi is free but spotty in the room, and this has to do with the remote location of Mt Desert Island. No shore access, but each cottage had a porch with a couple of inviting chairs and a picnic bench outside it. The cottages are 5 miles or a 15 min drive from the main town of Bar Harbor, and an entrance to Acadia NP is slightly closer. Overall, it's great value for money, and we'd go again!"
