Mas Gallau

"Stayed here two nights and picked Mas Gallau only because it looked slightly better than the typical tourist hotels in Salou. Reality: it has virtually no facilities — no gym, no sauna, nothing. The suite is basic to the point of feeling cheap: stone floor, plastic furniture, and a bathtub with cigarette stains. No walk-in shower — you literally have to climb into the tub.Breakfast is a disaster. No eggs, nothing fresh, just some bread, cereal (cold milk only if you ask), and a couple of basic cold cuts. The Nespresso machine only had decaf capsules left. - however, the lady from the reception was kind enough to bring some Cappuccino.  Yes, it’s €8.50, but for a $200/night hotel that is a pretty low offering.  It also sits right next to the AP7 highway, with one exit door basically opening onto it. Conclusion: overpriced, zero facilities, lousy breakfast — not worth the money."

"Pro's - Great location, short transfer from Reus airport and right on the beach. Lots of food and drinks included in and all inclusive. Con's - Not many other places to eat/drink or explore on your doorstep. It's a 25-30 min walk into Cambrils centre. Could be a bit noisy but it didn't bother us. There is a small shop on site for bits and bobs and a 'supermarket' just outside the hotel (come out of the reception and take a right) which has great pastries and essentials. We had room 2045 which was a junior suite. Great size for us and our 6yo. Can be a bit noisy from passers by in the corridor but nothing that bothered us so much that we didn't sleep and it's far enough away from the 'entertainment' that you don't hear it. We spent most of our time at the splash pool which our daughter and her 2 friends loved. A good mix for little ones and more confident swimmers. We found that it was never so busy there that you couldn't find space or shade. I loved that it was grassed around the edge of the pool and shaded by trees rather than loungers and parasols lined up next to each other. I got the impression that the hotel was busy but we never felt that it was overcrowded and it was a mix of nations with nobody seemingly 'over indulged' at night. Meals we rotated between the main restaurant and the splash pool restaurant. Plenty of beige at both places for the kids (pizza and chips at every meal time) and enough variety and fresh fruit, salads, fish and meats for the adults. Plentiful drinks available at all the bars and restaurants, Pleasantly surprised to find the option of cava with breakfast. The grounds and pool areas were clean and well kept. Helped by the plastic cup token system where you take one back to get a fresh drink, so this stopped empty glasses/cups piling up in the pool areas. We didn't take part in any of the daytime activities although I believe there was darts, table tennis etc if you were so inclined. We also didn't get chance to enjoy the adults only pool but from what I saw it looks quite enough and restful. We tended to got to the main bar for 7pm, eat about 8pm and then stick around for the evening entertainment which started at 9:30 for an hour. It was a mixed bag quality wise but enjoyable. We had a day trip to Parc Sama, 10 min taxi ride away. I'd liken it to a Spanish National Trust. There are deer to feed, a bird enclosure where you can get up close with parrots and lots of peacocks mooching about. Caves and towers to explore and generally lovely gardens and buildings. We then got a taxi into Cambrils for lunch then walked back to the hotel along the promenade. It would have been far quicker without 3 dawdling kids in the heat. We didn't go to the beach as often as we'd have liked, couldn't tear the kids away from the pool, but when we did the sand was clean, the water was calm and warm. If you did want to spend a day there I understand the umbrellas are 25 euro for the day. The room had a small fridge which"

Podobało mi się ten hotel do budżetu. Do plaży i portu idź 20-30 minut. W ciągu 10 dni pobytu zostałam zadowolona."

"This was our third visit to this wonderful hotel and it never disappoints. The rooms are lovely and roomy and especially nice if you have one overlooking the pool and sea. The staff are very friendly and the whole hotel is scrupulously clean. As for the food, you could not wish for a more varied selection, catering for all tastes. We especially like that there are only three floors to the hotel, so it is not too overcrowded. Highly recommended!"
