"Two blocks from the central square and the main church, Hotel Plaza Colonial is ideally located. The building is old with new paint. The elevator is on the small side with two persons capacity. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The amenities are basic. Lobby is small with not much space to sit. The room is very clean except a cockroach parading in the middle of the room on first night we moved in. We reported it to the receptionist and she was shocked as we were."

"I love this hotel, and love Campeche. I've been there several times to Campeche and will continue visiting from time to time. This is a new hotel in a great location. When I return I will definitely stay there again. The hotel is beautiful; it's in an old colonial building and beautifully remodeled. The rooms are all nicely decorated and very charming, different from one another, decorated in their own style. The courtyard area is a beautiful, relaxing space. Next door is a restaurant, which we ate at several times, and there are two OXXOs about a block and a half away from the hotel, one of them being open 24 hours a day. So if you arise early, you can walk over there to get your coffee. The hotel is very close to the main plaza as well. We used the free bikes that were available to us to ride on the bike path that goes along the malecon. We had a bit of trouble with the entrance key, and the key to our room, but the owner can be contacted through WhatsApp and is available to help you at any point in time, so he helped us out. Please note that they are combination keypad/key locks and I did not know how to operate them as I am not familiar with that type of lock. There are a couple of staff there during the day, although there is no front desk check-in. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to my return."

"The hotel is very centrally located in a renovated building. However, the investment seems to have been more about a facelift and modernization than actual improvements. Our room (a superior one) was so small that if you opened the window, you practically left the rest of the hotel open to the view. There wasn't even a hook in the bathroom, and there was a chair in the room. We had no hot water, and when we asked, they told us there were problems with the water heaters and they couldn't do anything. The next morning, however, there was water throughout the hotel until the woman who works there arrived. It looks very nice in the photos, but that's about it."
