We enjoyed returning to the inn after a day sightseeing in the lovely borders where there is lots to see and do with majestic country houses, castles , museums and gardens to enjoy and what made it extra special was returning to the Allanton inn to enjoy a drink in the garden before dinner. Thanks to William and Katrina for your hospitality and to the lovely staff who help to make this a special place to stay."

"One of my favourite places I stayed during my travels in Scotland (and I stayed in some lovely places!). I only stayed for one night while travelling north to Aberdeen and was disappointed I didn't have more time to stay as the property was gorgeous. My room had a reading nook in the tower, and the communal lounge area was beautifully appointed and so cosy and inviting, with beautiful views across the landscape. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The staff were both friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend."

The cottage is spacious and comfortable with all the amenities you need for your stay. Liz is very helpful and was available to answer any questions.
