"We had a fantastic stay at Augill Castle! Fabulously comfortable for a family of four. We loved the comfy room and beds. The staff are so helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The lounge area and tv room were so lovely and welcoming. And a bar on site was really great for an evening drink. Such a peaceful place to visit, and with so much wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended for couples and families and groups!"

"As a single lady in her 20s Travelling alone staff looked after me by putting me in a room near reception. Much appreciated The room was clean, plain and simple . Had a lovely comfortable clean bed, a tv, and a nice relaxing bath after a long travel. Water pressure was very slow and the place needs a touch of paint and refurbished, but the reception staff and cleaners are doing amazing. Keep pup the good work"

"From the moment we arrived at Augill Castle, we knew we were in for a special stay. The building itself is absolutely stunning, full of character and charm. We received such a warm welcome from the staff, who made us feel at home straight away. Throughout our stay, nothing was ever too much trouble. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and their level of care and attention didn’t go unnoticed. Our room was beautiful, immaculately clean, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was one of the comfiest we’ve slept in! The food was absolutely lovely, with excellent service. Every meal we throughly enjoyed the service was warm and professional. Augill Castle exceeded our expectations in every way. It’s a truly special place with outstanding hospitality, and we can’t recommend it highly enough."

"Pozostaliśmy tu przypadkiem. pierwotny plan był na obóz, ale przewidywana burza sugerowała zmianę planów. Redstones był w tym samym miejscu, miał pokój w tej samej nocy i był przyzwoity. Przybycie do hotelu było nam wrażenie jakości wykończenia (wszystko wygląda nowe - hotel był otwarty prawie rok). Śniadanie (gotowane na zamówienie) było super z dobrej jakości kiełbasy, bekon, czarny pudding i haggis. Dobry kawa też. Zdecydowanie poleca to miejsce jako bazę na spacer itp. w tym obszarze. Budynek jest starym hotelem dla młodzieży i nadal ma kompleksowy suszarniacz."

"Arrived early hours due to hold up on motorway receptionist was pleasant and welcoming easy check in room clean and tidy. Couldn’t fault the staff everyone was lovely .Hotel is in need of an upgrade but no reflection on the staff or level of service great location for our onward journey to Scotland . Services had plenty to offer Greggs M&S Costa and fast food outlets ."

High Greenside Farmhouse B&B ★★★
"We stayed here for 3 nights as the first part of our tour of Yorkshire and Northumberland. On arrival our first thoughts were that the farmhouse was in an idyllic and peaceful setting, with lovely views of the surrounding hills. Infact our only neighbours were sheep even in the garden behind our family room. Unfortunately, when shown to our room the outside area infront was very messy with children’s toys strewn around. In addition, there was a stripped down dumped car with several bits missing. We were told by Angela this was on a neighbours property. The positives were: Very welcoming hostess Angela. Comfy bed. Excellent full English breakfast. Lovely area to explore. Negatives: Scruffy outside areas. There were two of us in a family room, it would have been extremely tight for 4 people. Lack of storage area in the main bedroom. Room was tired & decoration needed. We thought the room was expensive for what we paid. Our room was not cleaned throughout our stay. We did mention this to Angela & it is not their policy to go into peoples rooms (we would like to have been advised at the outset). Our summary is that this farmhouse is in a beautiful location ,and if the improvements mentioned above were actioned, this would be a lovely place to stay. "
