Treetops B&B

"Treetops is an excellent B&B in a very beautiful part of the world. The hosts, JJ and Jo, are very hospitable and knowledgeable about the area, and are extremely helpful with in depth information on all the local (and not so local) areas. We saw some stunning locations we would never have come across on our own. The B&B is located in a quiet area out of Fort William, but with easy access. The rooms are nicely appointed and spotlessly clean, with coffee (cafetière) and tea making facilities and fresh milk in the fridges. Great Glen, the room we stayed in, was large with a very comfortable super-king bed, a large covered balcony and great views. Breakfast is continental style with plenty of choice, good quality produce and great coffee choice. There are many good local restaurants which Jo and JJ can advise on. We particularly liked Browns. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend both the B&B and the area. Thanks Jo and JJ."

"Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Fort William houses are difficult to book in August. The house I saw online said it was a superior cabin. I really didn't understand the point of the room. When I went there, I realized that it looked like a high-end prefabricated house. About twelve square meters. It’s not like Fifteen square meters as described by Ctrip. As soon as I entered the house, it smelled like sweat. The house was very cold because it was on an open field. There is a heating system, but it heats up very slowly. I heated it until eleven o'clock and it was only twenty degrees. The bathroom was about one level and I couldn't take a shower in it. I slept all night with my clothes on. The key point is that a house like this costs more than 2,200 a night at this time. We booked two rooms for two nights. After sleeping all night, I decided not to stay any longer. The boss doesn't check out. Ctrip thought I was a high-quality customer and refunded 500 yuan to me. I just think it's a big hole. Breakfast in the morning is a la carte with a small amount of buffet. Not tasty. It feels like you made your own sausage. Unpalatable."

Lime Tree Hotel

"We had reason to go onto this hotel to complain about the restaurant, we didn't stay here so only have experience of the staff. The reception wasn't manned, the person who came when we rang the bell seemed nonplussed. We asked to speak to the manager who.....surprise, surprise was the chef from our bad experience the night before. The hotel and restaurant are trying so hard to be high end but the only thing high end is the price (certainly in the restaurant but judging by the grubby reception, the hotel is no better). The chef in the restaurant acting as the manager of the hotel is just weird and he doesn't seem to excel at either. Save your money!"

Nevis View

"B&B after Fort William in the town of Corpach. There are two rooms and they are part of the house where the hosts live, kind without being too affable. The bathroom is shared with the other room and it is very clean as is the room. The room was narrow, there were 3 of us with our luggage and we couldn't move even if there were two of us the cost would have been too low. The quality-cost ratio was average. They offer a good Scottish breakfast in the price."

"Wonderful, well equipped apartment in the beautiful, sunny town of Fort William. Short walk from town centre and public transport, walking distance to Ben Nevis Visitor Centre too. Special treat to have two bathrooms in a two bed apartment. Neil and Tracy were very helpful in advising luggage storage options. Would love to stay again!"
