"Spent one overnight at this property and chosen due to its proximity to Quedlinburg (about 10 mins). It is a redone Chateau or large stately building. The front entrance is a exit only with reception on the side. The whole set up just seems off (not right). The place doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Is it a Ibis Budget or is it a M Gallery? The self check in is goofy, the entrance is goofily located. The rooms are nice with a nice set up and very tall ceilings, nice coffee machine. Toiletries were in the cheap side. They need to figure out what clientele they want to attract. We did not have breakfast because at 22 euro person. It better be Hilton or Mariott quality and I don't think that it would have been. The 124 euros paid for one night in an area that frankly is not well positioned and the price point is too much. I guess they have to recoup their investment. In general I thought all the prices for the area were more than they should have been. Having just just come from Berlin. I paid less for everything (food, hotels, fuel) in Berlin than here which is in former E. Germany rural country side. Loved Quedlinburg but again one thing struck as odd. During the evening meal time. Lots of people having drinks or coffee or cake and not meals. Probably because pricing is off. The other thing in general that Germany has to come to terms with. Use credit cards, not Cash or EC card. So many places were cash only. It is 2026, international traveler don't carry a fist full of euros. Bottom line. Neat one time stay, wouldn't come back. Overall they have done a good job at redoing the accommodations and customer service we encountered was nice. Recommendations: figure out what kind of hotel you want to be. I would put in your own pool. Paying 23 euros for 3 hours at the public swimming pool is a non starter when all you want is a quick dip. Plus I think it would draw more clientele."

"In short: We spent an entire night in temperatures just above freezing with our 19-month-old daughter. It was freezing cold and drafty because otherwise the stench would have been unbearable. Driving home in heavy snowfall was out of the question for us at that hour. And what shouldn't be forgotten is that this wasn't exactly cheap accommodation. At over €400 for two nights, or €550 with breakfast, you can expect a clean room and, even more importantly, own up to mistakes and face the consequences, namely refunding money that was wrongly withheld because the service wasn't provided. To be more detailed: I primarily want to distance myself from negative reviews simply because people are surprised that an outdoor pool isn't open in winter. I definitely don't fall into that category. However, what my family and I experienced at the Hotelpark Bodetal in early January 2026 is hard to stomach. In forty years of traveling, I've never experienced anything like it. But let's jump back in time together. It was a relatively spontaneous trip for my wife's birthday with our 19-month-old daughter. Having found and booked through ***********, we set off full of anticipation for Thale and the Hotelpark Bodetal on a snowy, cold January day. Everything seemed relaxed at the hotel. We checked into our room in House 8, ground floor, in the afternoon and immediately experienced a nasty surprise. Upon entering the room, we were hit with a musty, cheesy smell. "Well," I thought, "it's cold." Visually, the room looked quite dated, but okay, perhaps the cleaning product had lingered. So, we aired it out thoroughly. Nevertheless, I informed the rather overweight man at reception that the room smelled bad. He evaded the issue by saying that no cleaning staff were currently available, but assured us that the room would be cleaned again the following day. For the time being, I left it at that. Despite repeated offers to experience the smell in the room himself, the gentleman refused to leave the reception desk. Presumably, his work motivation is linked to his interest in physical activity. Since our little one loves water, we promptly went to the Bodetal thermal baths. Upon our return, and despite leaving the windows slightly open for cross-ventilation in the freezing cold, we were greeted upon entering the apartment by our roommate again: the putrid, cheesy stench. I put my nose to work and, with some effort and a bit of patience, managed to locate the suspected culprit in the kitchen. It was lodged in the kitchen sink drain and the overflow of the cutlery tray, as you can see in the attached photos. As is clearly visible in the photos, the culprit in the cutlery tray drain, in particular, had been there for weeks, if not months."

"Very nice located castle. Just find the reception and other facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff at both the reception and the restaurant. Rooms were super large and equipped. everything was needed. The heating had to fight with the temperature but 19 degrees of warm were the rooms. A heating air/infrared heating was available to increase the temperature in the bathroom in the short term. We usually sleep at 18 -19° C therefore no problem. The ordered sect was with 2 glasses on the room as ordered. We had no food pre-ordered in the restaurant, but after consultation there was no problem to get food. The breakfast did not leave any wish open. The spa area is divided into different areas and was perfectly sufficient and beautiful. I can continue to recommend it fully. We will come back in summer."

Kuchnia, która bierze odpowiedzialność za poprzednią doskonałą kuchnię, od wielu lat wychodzi z hotelu. Ceny żywności są nadal 5 gwiazdek, ale warte są do 2-3. Otrzymaliśmy mrożony sos Hollondaise serwowany dla wiśni, który miał spójność pudingu ... Buffet śniadaniowy był również raczej solidny i na 3 dni zawsze bez specjalności. W sumie to piękne miejsce, ale stosunek ceny do wydajności nie jest spójny."

"we spent our New Year's Eve 2023/2024 here. Room: our room was large, clean, modern and bright. A minibar is included in the room. We had booked the New Year's Eve package, which included drinks from the minibar, only non-alcoholic drinks, which were also refilled daily. A mini safe is included in the room. Our room had a nice view of the castle/park. The bed was good, you could sleep well in it. Bathroom: the bathroom was also modern, bright and clean. I found the shelf a bit small, you couldn't put much down. Everything was also available in the bathroom: hair dryer, make-up mirror, soap, lotion, shower gel. The shower also had enough space. Breakfast: the selection was very good, everything was there and it was delicious too. Lots of delicious specialties from the region. It was also quickly refilled. General: the hotel is located a little up the mountain. The center can be reached on foot from the hotel. There is enough parking. WiFi is free, but the connection in the room is not always available. The hotel is large, modern and clean. This hotel also has a wellness area, but we didn't use it. Dinner: our New Year's Eve package included 2 x half board, each with a 3-course menu. On the day of arrival I was asked if I had any intolerances, which I stated. On the second evening I had to point out myself that I couldn't tolerate the soup, I was offered a "substitute soup", but I wasn't at all impressed. Pure water with powder?? Others are offered a fine, tasty soup, and my soup consists of water with powder or whatever, which is what a 4-star hotel offers?? Why was I asked about any intolerances when I arrived? Do I have to understand that? Apart from the substitute soup, everything else was delicious. New Year's Eve: there was a buffet, there were some great things there, which were also delicious. There was also a midnight snack and sparkling wine. What I didn't like was the labelling of the dishes, it would have been more sensible to have cards in front of the hot dishes so that everyone knew what was in them and didn't have to open the lid first. A little more light would also be better. Otherwise it was a lovely New Year's Eve. The hotel didn't have its own fireworks, but you could still see some fireworks in front of the hotel. Anything else? I looked at the bill at home, you have to look twice (read...but it really is on the bill. Since when do you have to pay for a "little gift"? In my opinion, it doesn't cost anything, right?? I've never experienced that. The "little gift" was a 250 g jar of honey, which was in your room when you arrived. The price on the bill is a whopping 20.00 euros. So 20.00 euros for a 250 g jar of honey...I'm at a loss for words. I didn't see any gold leaf in the honey... ... Summary"

"Dostępna cena wliczała śniadanie z ładnym widokiem na okno na wsi. Jednak trochę trudno się zameldować, nie ma personelu na recepcji, to samo zameldowanie. Miałem trudności ze skanowaniem zbierania karty pokojowej, na szczęście były inne goście, którzy chcą pomóc zadzwonić i mówić po niemiecku do personelu przez telefon. Chciałbym przyjść tu ponownie, aby zobaczyć wiejski widok góry z świeżym powietrzem."
