The Railway Hotel

"First of all the picture shown on trip adviser is totally inaccurate. This property is not a hotel and more like serviced rooms with individual lock boxes to access the rooms. There are absolutely no amenities including bar and goodness knows where the bistro comes into it as there isn’t one. The pub next door appears to have nothing to do either with the property. The advertisement for this property is in my opinion totally misleading and inaccurate My wife and I stayed at the property for 2 nights in the last few days. The room was ok but not value for money given the lack of amenities. There was no where to obtain any food unless you counted the pub next door for a packet of crisps! We booked through ******* but on arrival found no access as we hadn’t even been provided with a code for the lock box to obtain entry to the room. The people in the pub were able to provide details of the owner who we contacted and apologised blaming ******* for not passing on the relevant information. The free breakfast was a joke given that it consisted of some cereal etc. in a communal room for everyone to access. Even the cereal was in jars and not sealed packets which is a bit of a concern as far as I am concerned. Had the property been advertised as service rooms that would have been ok but it is certainly not a hotel as expected. The actual accommodation was ok but the bathroom could have been cleaner. In my view the property does not offer value for money given the cost and lack of amenities and neither should it be advertised as a hotel and bistro as in my opinion it is neither."

The Bowes Hotel

"Po pierwsze, Ian i jego zespół pomogli nam naprawić błąd popełniony przez ****** w hotelu Bowes. Naprawdę przyjazny i międzyosobowy personel wraz z szeroką wiedzą o tym obszarze i dalej niż szczególnie Ściana Hadriana, wraz z muzeami i fortami rzymskimi. Jedzenie serwowane było również niesamowite, lepsze niż niektóre inne niezależne restauracje, także tajskie ciasta są konieczne do spróbowania! Pokój jest czysty i uporządkowany z wielkim śniadaniem bufetu do uruchomienia, również robią lunch na swoją podróż w przyszłości. Jeśli mieszkasz w Bardon Mill, to jest to miejsce, tylko spacer od stacji, która łączy się z powrotem do Newcastle. Przyjazne sąsiedztwo i lokalni, którzy dzielą się historią z ich podróży, a także innych podróżnych z całego świata, głównie robiąc spacer po ścianie Hadriana. Nie mogę winić tego wspaniałego i przytulnego hotelu i pub, który jest hotelem Bowes!"

The Twice Brewed Inn

"We stayed here because there was an event hosted by the place and it was very convenient just near the hotel. The tour itself was clean, but it was really small so it was hard to move around. However, everything else is OK."

The Coach and Horses

"Wspaniała lokalizacja i blisko parkingu w dół wzgórza. Bardzo ostrożny personel i pomieszczenia są super cicho. Pokoje są nad pubem, ale są one tak dobrze dźwiękoszczelne, że nic nie słyszysz. Ładne, czyste i nowoczesne pokoje i wszystko, co trzeba dostać codziennie, jeśli to konieczne. Z pewnością wróci."

"I had a great stay here recently. I spent 2 nights and was well taken care of. It’s a short walk into Bellingham where you can find cafes, pubs and groceries. It is also just off the Pennine Way. I stayed in the guest room building, which has a handy, communal kitchen. There are also self catering lodges. Hazel and Katie did a lovely job of looking after the rooms. This place is in dark sky country so there are spectacular views at night. I would be very happy to come back here!"
