I stayed at many hotels, but the Royal Hawaiian was the best among them. The room was not large, but it was good with a classical and solid feeling. The bed was fluffy and comfortable, and I enjoyed it in my room. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. I checked in quite early because I was moving from another hotel, but the room was available and I was allowed to enter. I enjoyed the banana muffin service and free yoga lessons. If I had to say, there was no bathtub and slippers, and the amenities were different depending on the day. But I definitely want to stay again.

The Ritz Carlton Waikiki delivers a true 5-star experience. From the minute you arrive to when you leave you are greeted by name whether in person or on the phone. Our special requests were either met or exceeded. The room was super-clean and well stocked with more than enough towels, robes and slippers, coffee and tea. Requests for more hangers, a bucket of ice or anything else were taken care of without delay. The bed was super-comfortable, as good as any I’ve experienced in a hotel. The staff were, without exception, professional, courteous and super-friendly at all times. We didn’t eat in any of the restaurants but the Dean and DeLuca store was a good source of pastries and coffee to bring back to the room. The view we had was ocean and, it’s worth noting, sitting on the lanai was a bit noisy, this is a very urban and busy location so the upside is it’s close to shopping. The adult pool fills up quickly so it’s worth getting there before the sun comes round. The very pretty beach is an easy 10 minute walk and the hotel provides beach towels and water at no charge. Chairs and umbrellas are easily rented on the beach. As there is a small kitchen we stocked up on a few snack and drink items. Do yourselves a favor, stay out of the over-priced ABC’s and head to the Waikiki Market the inventory and prices are way better. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Ritz Carlton and look forward to staying at the next one, maybe Maui?

Although the we found that Kahala is starting to show it's age a bit, mostly in small ways within the Dolphin Lanai room we had, it is still a glorious, high-end resort. It is far enough removed to feel secluded and private, small enough that it almost never feels crowded, and close enough to the action of Oahu that you'll never be wanting for things to do. The lobby and restaurants are very well executed, and all of the staff that we interacted with were amazing, and are truly what made the trip extra special.

The location of the hotel is not on the main street, but it is also very close to the sea, just across the road. The lady at the front desk is very friendly, but the check-in time is after 4:00 p.m. We had to wait five or six hours for our early flight, which made me a little irritable. Most hotels in Hawaii check in at this point, and there will be a lot of people, so it is better to choose a flight to arrive at night, so you can check in directly and avoid the rush hour. The hotel is old and the facilities are very old, but it is clean. The room is very big, and it is a bit uncomfortable to fly from Japan. There is an infinity pool on the 6th floor of the hotel. It is not very big, but it is not bad. Next time I come back, I should choose a few new hotels on the main street. Oh yes, there will be fireworks on Friday night, remember to watch it~

First time staying here but definitely won’t be the last. So many people we met who were staying at the hotel were regular guests over many years and it wasn’t difficult to see why. A perfect sanctuary in Waikiki - close to everything but a luxury escape when you want a little peace and quiet We had an Ocean Suite which was spacious and very well appointed, but what made our experience was the the staff. Without exception they were first class and so many had worked at the hotel for 20+ years which says a lot. Already dreaming about our next stay and we have only just arrived home.

This's my first time booking through ”trip” app. I glad i did. Our room is corner views where we got both the view from diamond head and oceanfront. This's the best experience i have. We arrived at the hotel on a Friday night around 7pm Hawaii time. Didn't expect they were doing fireworks around 8pm. I got to see it right from my window view. Omg.....i was breaking in tears where i haven't experience of fireworks this close before. I wish they allow video reviews in here where i can share my recording of the fireworks to you all. My daily views from my room are the best everyday and night throughout our stay. We walked around the beaches, restaurants and stores around the hotel area everynight before bed. Anyway, thank you for the awesome experience and memories. Love it so much and totally recommend.

In the Maui fire, the hotel was full, and I wanted to upgrade temporarily but there was no room). The room is old, with an area of ​​less than 20 square meters. Spent July 3, 2022-July 5, 2022, we are Kama 'aina's and did not feel the hotel extended any kind of extra Aloha for us locals. Also, very upset when I pre-booked the reservation through a 3rd party and as well paid in full, and on confirmation sheet states that room and everything else PAID ALREADY, WHEN CHECKING IN THERE WILL ONLY BE A BALANCE OF $46 IN TAXES. Well, when I checked in I was told that I would still need to pay $45 a day for the resort fees daily which totalled $85 I still would owe. Parking, I was told by the Front Desk would be $50 a night ( insane )!

This location is the best. 1 block from the beach, within walking distance to anything you want in Waikiki. The lobby is an open, grand lobby. Hotel employees are extremely friendly and helpful. I was very concerned about the hotel when I got off the elevator on the 14th floor. The hallways are dated and uninviting. However, upon entering the room I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, plenty spacious for a solo traveler (and would be acceptable for 2 travelers), and had a great view of the ocean. The continental breakfast offered fruit, pastries, boiled eggs, cereal, toast, and waffles. The best part of the stay was Leo at the bell desk. He was extremely friendly, and provided excellent service (he even noticed that I dropped my apple watch cover and held it for me until my return later that day). Be sure to get to know Leo, and don't forget to tip your service providers!

Uhhhhh..... We stayed in this hotel because our flight got in late and we needed a place close to the airport to crash for one night. This hotel fits that purpose well. That said, I wouldn't recommend this hotel for any other situation other than the one I just described. They were pumping sewage right outside of our door the morning we woke up. Also, our room key didn't work the morning we were checking out. The only other positive of this hotel is that it is within walking distance of THE BEST little food place we came across on our whole trip: Joe's Grill Express. We cannot wait to come back so we can visit Joe's again.

This is my daughter(5) and my favorite staycation spot for the last few years. The pool is wonderful, very relaxing and fun. The location is great for those who want to shop and dine at the Ala Moana Center. As we live on Oahu, Waikiki can be a bit too busy so if you are those who want to stay off of Waikiki, this is great as it’s at the edge of Waikiki, right by Ala Moana! We also enjoyed the free lei making with friends we made at the pool too.

So....got a great rate on Travelzoo voucher for 4 nights. This hotel has been remodeled and is still in process of completing some work in common areas. Starbucks opened when I was there, and Monkeypod will open in the future. Staff was fabulous! No complaints there. I was able to check in early and got a partial ocean view on floor 11. Room was spotless. My only complaint, and it's a big one for me, is the soundproofing. I should say lack of it! Doors are HEAVY and each open and shut on the floor nearby is a shock to the sleeper. Also, the wind whistled and the band and traffic comes right in through slider to balcony. The band stops at 9, so that was no problem, and very nice. But....I hated the door slams and other interior noises. If you are a light sleeper, I don't think you will enjoy yourself. I wore ear plugs. Location is superb! It really can't be beat. Pool is OK. The jacuzzi was kind of icky. One being closed the entire time, the other kind of grey and the one attached to the pool generally full of kids. No jacuzzi for me. Towels and loungers were readily available. No problems there. We did have a problem at restaurant/ bar with what we think was bad turkey or mayo on a club. My grandson and I got sick within a couple hours. Unfortunately for the maintenance staff there was some cleaning up to do in the bathroom. The staff responded immediately and were so nice about it. I cannot thank them enough. However, when I reported this to the restaurant manager in the morning I was not totally happy with his response. All in all, I would stay there again for what I paid for it.

This review has to do solely with the staff which is why I rated them 5. A separate response regarding the hotel itself will be posted at a later date. I specifically want to say that the staff over all were amazing. Even when there seemed to be chaos with the amount of people coming and going they were always helpful and went out their way to accommodate and assist me. If you decide to stay here, REQUEST MRS JOSIE FOR YOUR ROOM SERVICE!!!!! I cannot stress this enough. I came here for a surgical procedure that put me in a sling with very little mobility. I had meal prepped all of my stuff in preparation for the recovery but she was the only room service staff (mind you I had 3 different clean my room) that washed my dishes because she saw me in my sling. Multiple times the other employees cleaning my room saw me in a sling unable to move my arm yet they never washed them. Mrs Josie was the only one who did. Something so small but also so kind. I requested her clean my room for the duration of my stay and she was amazing. Again, I will have another post regarding the hotel itself but unfortunately I don’t have enough time because it’ll be a long one. Again, The staff is amazing overall.

The location was very good and the hotel facilities were clean and nice. I arrived a little early, but they did an early check-in, so I had a good rest. I checked out at 4:30 in the morning, but the staff was there even then, so I checked out comfortably. Teddy's Burger, ABC Mart, and Starbucks are all right next to the hotel, so it was really convenient. Parking was easy as there is a free parking area nearby and a zoo.

I enjoyed my stay. Our room was great and had a beautiful view. Also, it was peaceful, not a lot of noise in the hallways. Breakfast was a little bland at the hotel, but there were many other places to eat close by. The Signature is a little overrated for the dine in meal, but the happy hour is a good value, and in a great location. We experienced both. I enjoyed the shopping close by as well as the breach in walking distance. I think I would visit again for a few days and then travel to see more of Hawaii.

I enjoyed my stay. Our room was great and had a beautiful view. Also, it was peaceful, not a lot of noise in the hallways. Breakfast was a little bland at the hotel, but there were many other places to eat close by. The Signature is a little overrated for the dine in meal, but the happy hour is a good value, and in a great location. We experienced both. I enjoyed the shopping close by as well as the breach in walking distance. I think I would visit again for a few days and then travel to see more of Hawaii.

Booked this in 2019 for our 20th anniversary and had to cancel due to COVID and they said they would honor my booked rate for the next year. Had to cancel again and they honored my price for 2022! I was impressed with that. Hotel is in a great location-you can play in the ocean and see Diamond Head and we were lucky enough to spot two sea turtles. (one was a baby) You can walk to International Market Place, Al Moana shopping center, and Beach Walk Street with many good Restaurants. and Lewers Street. Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center down the street also. We didn't get a rental car and took an uber 4 times and had several tours booked where you get picked up and dropped off. Much cheaper than a rental car and having to pay $50 a night just to park the rental car at the hotel. Hotel was in definite need of a remodel. Was told would have a higher level room and put on first floor. We requested to move next day. Moved to 9th floor. Room was clean, hotel was clean, restaurant was very clean. People were friendly. Lots to do on Oahu. A lot of people here.

The bed was fluffy and comfortable, and I enjoyed it in my room. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. I checked in quite early because I was moving from another hotel, but the room was available and I was allowed to enter. I enjoyed the banana muffin service and free yoga lessons. If I had to say, there was no bathtub and slippers, and the amenities were different depending on the day. But I definitely want to stay again.

The bed was comfortable, except for the fact that my feet hung off the bed....and I'm just a medium-tall person. Pancakes at IHOP thicker then their pillows...and I'm barely exaggerating. TV never worked. There were big rainstorms, which was their excuse....but after 3 days of bright sunshine, still no tv. Even then, there's so little furniture in the room that you can't even see the TV cuz the lamp covers it up...you have to place the lamp on the floor to see the TV, when it works. Finally...manager....PLEASE stop pulling your mask down to speak with guests. You should know better.

The reason I chose this hotel is that I don't have to rent a car for a full-day tour such as Oahu Island Tour, Turtle Snorkeling, and Hawaii Folk Show Ruau, so I can sleep, so I pay hotel blood and stay at a famous hotel. Because there was no need. I was in the Wicolona Village, such as Big Ilan for 4 days, but I couldn't go to the hotel lounge or swimming pool because I was doing activities all day, and I couldn't see the famous dolphins, but I paid for the hotel blood and slept. It was so wasteful that I got this accommodation in Oahu, which is convenient for transportation, and I was satisfied with the choice. However, a very historical incident occurred and I filmed a movie that I will never forget. I laugh now, but how cool I was. On the first day, I was willing to eat beer and steak in the pub, so I left the card key at the hostel, and in the evening, there was no front desk, so no one opened the door. The condos are very nice. If you want to be in Ko Olina, this is where to be. It is smaller than the other major resorts in the area. There are two buildings, the Beach and the Ocean. This is the Beach and is behind the Ocean. We met many owners while there. They gave us the pluses and minuses of each building. Each condo is privately owned. Hence, no two are exactly alike. They all have their own furniture, etc. I would also state Penthouse is used for floors 10-16 (no 13 floors). Noise travels from balcony to balcony very easily. The condo is as advertised. Note that NO umbrellas are allowed in the lagoons, so don't drag them to the beach. There are rules for the condo for parking, towels on patios, etc. It didn't bother us, but many guests complained about it while we were there. The workout room is well-appointed. I enjoyed the wet and dry saunas in the ladies locker room. Every night there was a singer song writer at the little bar. Usually, we could hear it from the patio. As others had mentioned, no restaurant was on site, but that was a big deal for us. We would love to come back and stay here. The staff at the condo is accommodating as well. We had a check-in issue, but that was our owner's fault, and they tried their best to make it a non-event.

We had 4 nights at the Waikiki Monarch and found it to be a strange experience. We booked it through Booking.com and stayed in apartment 2703A. On the positive side, our apartment had an amazing view of Waikiki, right out to the ocean, as well as along the canal – very inspiring! The location also was very good, situated on the western end of Wikiki. It was only a 10min walk to the beach and about 10min over to Ala Moana Mall and beach park. There was a good internet-enabled TV with about every channel and streaming service you could want – really a nice setup. On the negative side, the apartment was not very well cleaned upon our arrival, especially the floor. A couple of the dining chairs and the couch were covered in stains and were downright disgusting. The apartment was lacking a few basics, such as bedside cabinets and dressers/drawers for storing clothes. I had to lay out all my clothes on the floor along the hallway wall. We also felt the lighting was quite dim in the evenings. The kitchen was small and outfitted with only the basics. The kitchen faucet was loose and about ready to fall off – a little basic maintenance would’ve been nice. Another thing that was odd was that there was no reception or other onsite staff which could be called on if required. We were told to collect our key from a little lock box. We arrived at around 1pm, and since we weren’t allowed to check in until the very late hour of 4pm, we asked if we could store our bags and were told we actually had to pay for bag storage ($5/bag) for the 3 hours. It’s the first time we’ve ever had the experience of having to pay for bag storage at the hotel while waiting for check-in! Not impressed! In any case, we won’t be staying here anytime soon. Not recommended – there are so many far better places to stay in Waikiki. Don’t make the mistake we did.

I ended up making a few reservations here thanks to the kindness and hospitality of the staff. A special thank you to Yulia for making my stay extraordinary, she had great recommendations, made great snax and drinks at the ”paniolo” a bar and Cafe located on site and was overall just so friendly and inviting to the solo traveler. Another special thanks to Dana, who kept me on constant supply of delicious speciality coffee! My room was clean, the hotel is charming and family owned, and it's location is exceptional. 5 stars and i will be visiting again :)
