Room was clean but water machine and went working and the blinds on windows were broken as the handle to close them was missing. Also the amenities changed and they’re not as good as previously no razor or toothbrush in room unlike the Conrad in London

The first thing I will mention is that the hotel is 5 star and is expectedly, very expensive, being in the heart of Times Square. I took this into account when writing my review. If I am paying that much, my expectations would be higher than normal. I stayed for 12 nights over the Christmas and NY period so I obtained a very comprehensive view of the hotel and everything about it. Overall it was a very comfortable stay and the staff were always there to attend to any requests and issues. The moment I got out of my transfer car, there was a lovely young gentleman waiting to get all my bags and transport me upstairs to the reception. The check-in was reasonably flawless but there was a bit of confusion around the payment because of resort fees the hotel charges daily. I prepaid my booking and there was confusion over whether it included or excluded the resort fee. The reception area is immaculately presented and the bar and restaurant are both located here. I intended to use the gym during my stay, but didn't have time to even take a peek. Nor did I visit the bar or restaurant. There's way too many options outside to do that. The very polite and courteous young gentleman then took me up to my room. He showed me everything and away he went. I got a bit of a room upgrade which I highly appreciated and had a beautiful view of Times Square. I was on the 2nd highest floor, floor 39. The room is not big. It was adequate for one person but nothing more. I don't think I would be able to stay here if I was with another person. It would be too uncomfortable and I had to find space for my 2 suitcases and carry-on. The bathroom is open plan, with a door for the shower and toilet. A big problem I had in my room was that if it was windy you will hear a loud whistle coming through the bottom of the front door. It really annoyed me. I had to take the cover off the bed and make a snake shape to block the gap underneath the door to stop the noise. Even a bath towel didn't work. They need to fix this. The hotel is very new and the rooms are very beautifully equipped, presented and maintained. I was pleased to see that most of the things I requested before I arrived (some extra bath mats, bath towels, hand towels, face towels, mini fridge, bathroom scale) were mostly there upon arrival. I quantified the number of towels I needed as I was not getting any housekeeping during my 12 night stay but I did not get the quantity requested. I expected a bit more attention to detail for a 5 star hotel. Before I arrived I was asked if I was celebrating a special occasion and Guest Services pushed up my expectations as I was celebrating a special occassion and they said something nice, I assume maybe a cake or some alcohol would be waiting for me in the room. When I arrived there was nothing. And there was never going to be anything throughout my stay. I didn't mind and only remembered towards the end of the stay. Just had another great stay (from start to finish) at the wonderful St. Regis New York. From the bellmen, to the front office staff, to the butler and housekeeping staff, to the incredible service in the King Cole Bar our stay was top notch. There are so many high end choices in the best city in the world, and you can truly never go wrong with the St. Regis. Can’t wait for our next trip back soon.

This hotel was in a great location for things like exploring the Chelsea neighbourhood and visiting the Moma art gallery! I really liked the vibe as there was a terrace outside that always had people sitting chatting, dining and having a low key good time. There were also lots of nice restaurants in the area! The room was lovely too!

This is a well appointed hotel, 1 minute walk from Time Square. Great location for local attractions, but also for getting to see the main attractions of Manhattan. As we were staying for 7 nights we upgraded our room and had plenty of space on the 43rd floor. Beds were very comfortable and the whole room clean and pretty well appointed. Hotel also has one of the highest roof-top bars in New York!!

The room has a good view and compared to the same price, I personally think it is not up to standard, but it is very comfortable. It is understandable in this area of ​​​​NYC. If you want a good view, you can’t go wrong by booking this hotel. You must book the Skyline. The highest floor that the elevator can reach is 36 Skyline. The line is at 35. It’s really beautiful at night. If you are looking for comfortable accommodation, there are better hotels at the same price. Although there are always patrols in the busier streets of Manhattan, there are still some homeless and secluded small hotels nearby when you go out at night. Try not to walk on the alley. I hope everyone goes out together at night and pays attention to safety.

Comfortable stay! Had some issues but requests were addressed promptly. Would recommend and stay again. Easy to walk into downtown Flushing and catch trains to other parts of the city. Pool was nice and heated. Gym was enough for workouts while traveling.

I’ll start with the positive… Check in was easy and the room was a very generous size for the city. It kind of ends there. It was a tough choice to decide between luxe hotel properties in NYC. I settled on the Mandarin because of my extraordinary experience in London. Maybe the bar was set too high by Hyde Park. We got in to the room and felt like a quick coffee before heading out. No coffee setup? We called down and were told it could be provided - on demand?! Really?? Soon enough a Nespresso setup was delivered. How many people opt out of coffee? Maybe that’s just me. Next, showed up for lunch in the bar (I think there is only the one dining option). There wasn’t anyone at the host’s station so we grabbed a seat. Soon enough someone awkwardly asked us to vacate the “reserved” seats and they would check to see if they could accommodate us at another table. Eventually we were reseated. Service was lagging and food was overpriced (as can be expected at an establishment like this). Hotel decor and interiors were all just average. Nothing felt like a wow. No part of the experience felt like it justified the price tag - especially when there is so much competition in this city. My stay at The NYC Edition in March (for roughly half the cost) far outperformed this experience. The Mandarin can do much better than this.

Great location for a person seeking the heart of Times Square. There are various levels of rooms so don’t be offended if you don’t book a city view and then get a window with a view of a building. The entrance was decent, yet for a W hotel, I never saw a doorman on site. We never had staff assist us with our bags either. The initial impression after the primary door is decent. They turned it into an sort of underwater experience. With this being said the four nights we stayed there I also never once saw a security guard as you first enter leaving a bit of safety concerns up for grabs. From there you have to catch an elevator up to the main lobby which is nicely decorated. Upon checking in don’t expect to be greeted with a smile (even if you have rank as a bonvoy member). Just get your key and go. As for the room the overall appearance is dependent upon the level of room you choose, so to be impartial I won’t give my opinion on the rooms. I will though, continue to comment on the lackluster service as that aspect should be stellar across the board. Upon asking for recommendations for the city we were handed a crumbled, partially torn paper with a generous number of locations, no additional information was provided by the staff. The night before checking out I found myself in need of a razor. I called guest services and they advised they’d be able to provide one. 40 minutes had passed and still no razor. After burning much time just waiting, I decided it would probably be faster for me to walk to CVS buy one and come back (which it was). Again, I mention the location is prime Times Square making every item the hotel forgets to bring you, easily found and easily accessible by foot. The cocktails at the “Living Room” bar are horrible. They range from $20-25 per cocktail and if you light a cigarette near it, you’ll probably catch on fire from the amount of unshaken liquor in the glass. A heavy pour isn’t always a good pour especially when you’re looking to actually be able to walk the city. We have the living room bar 3 tries before deciding to just have our first set of cocktails outside of the establishment. A benefit is that the W gives you $25 to spend at the bar daily with your $25 resort fee. For the first time in my life free wasn’t actually better. I really would love a call from someone at the establishment as I am certain the experiences my wife and I dealt with are not the “norm”. Overall, do not recommend. I would recommend The NY Marriott Marquis.

Customer service specially at the reception desk was very poor - they would never say please or Thankyou. If you ask a question it’s too much trouble or work for them. Overall experience was good but customer service is something that you need to take as a grain of salt when you visit /stay here
