„Decent ok hotel, proximity to tai Chung railway station less than 8 mins walk if you go by the correct route and not follow blindly on the google map, breakfast can be missed as really need improvement but good to have as not many eateries nearby, good thing is there is a gang cheng station outside and opposite the hotel which can bring you to two famous night markets - Feng chia and Yi Zhong (better), take bus 25, 33, 35, but expect long distance ride, hotel room wall is too thin so be prepared to be disturbed at all times especially at night, WiFi can be weak at times, one last complain is the no throwing of toilet paper into the toilet bowl as too inconvenient for ladies but at this price of a well renovated hotel room, this is still acceptable”

„Hotel was nicely designed. Location wasn't too bad too, near the bus station we wanted to take to Sun Moon Lake. The footprint of the room is quite small, and had a bit of smell which we think came from the shower curtain. Service was good - staff at the front counter were really helpful and accommodating.”

„Chance Hotel in Taichung is exactly what you’d expect for the price of a 3-star hotel, and there’s nothing to complain about at this price range. The hotel is clean and provides all the necessary amenities. The most important highlight is the location—it’s right next to Taichung Train Station. There are also many restaurants and convenience stores nearby, which makes everything very convenient. Overall, a good value stay.”

„Box Design Hostel turned out to be a really good choice for my stay in Taichung. The location is great — close to everything, well connected, and easy to find food or transport around. The hostel is super clean. I was really impressed by how tidy the rooms and bathrooms were. Hair dryers, shampoo, and body wash were provided, which was nice and convenient. I also loved that they had free coffee, tea, and bottled water available anytime — very useful for travellers on the go! There are just a couple of downsides. The beds are quite slim, so if you prefer a spacious sleeping area, you might feel a bit cramped. Also, there are no towels provided, so bring your own if you plan to stay here. Other than that, it’s a solid hostel with a friendly vibe and great value. Would recommend for budget travellers who want comfort and cleanliness.”

„I write with much disappointment on your lapse in hotel service. I checked in on 3/12/25 and my son caught a cold. I was at the hotel lobby at 1.5hrs earlier requesting for a check in but it’s allowed. My son and I were left to rest n sleep at the lobby. No one came to us or any empathy shown at all. The next day as my son was unwell n resting in the room, there was dragging sounds that can be heard from the room which lasted for about an hour plus. I called the reception and was told that there is no guest staying above my room 701 nor beside us. My hair stands and immediately requested for a change of room. Without empathy, the reception told me that it could housekeeping upstairs. I was even more puzzled n worried why is there housekeeping where there is no one staying above my room n beside my room? The reception mentioned that they will check again even though I requested for a change of room a few times. Finally, a lady who came to ‘help me’ change room. She given me a doubtful expression and asked me if the dragging sound is still there with no empathy. Thankfully after she asked, there are dragging sounds are heard. She was standing in my room to only see me scramble to pack my things with no apology or empathy. To make things worse, she asked me what time I want to have my breakfast the next day. I really do not appreciate the question when I busy packing my things to a new room. I was later told by the in charge for that day named Connie that the staff are trained not to help guest with their luggage. So is this the reason to show no empathy to your guests by asking the guests' breakfast timing? The lady brought me to third floor but I do not feel good at the walkway as super dark and eerie feel and requested for another room. On my final day staying at the hotel, I was given a call half an hour before 11am to ask to check out of the hotel. I had never encounter such thing before. It then brings me the question whereby if your check in time is 6pm and your check out time is 11am, why then there is a need to rush guests out of the hotel? The hotel will have ample 7hrs for housekeeping. Also, if the room beside my room 701 n above unit has no guest staying, why is it that I cannot check in early on the day of arrival on 3/12/25 where my son is not well? Even more shocking to me, during checking out of the hotel, I was given a document saying that I purchased laundry item which I did not. Imagine if it’s a confidential document that the staff reveal to a wrong guest? This is totally not professional. I requested for the names of staff and the email for me to feedback to the management but they are not willing to do it. I was standing at the front counter in the cold wind for 10 minutes requesting for it. It's really ridiculous! Later, the in charge that day named Betty finally succumb to my request but repeat rudely her name to me. It's such a shame that the hotel is such a good location but I will seriously reconsider or even recommend anyone to stay in there again I hope to hear from you on the above mentioned. Thank you.”

„Staff are polite and ready to assist. Easy luggage storage and check in. Room facilities are basic, but the bed is comfortable and plenty of hot water for a relaxing shower. However the showerhead was difficult to position and the tub is small so water sprayed everywhere on the floor. Free water bottles are provided. There could be more hooks installed for hanging clothes or personal toiletries. The bedsheets/pillowcases were discolored but not sure if this is related to hygiene or just the bedsheet style/color. They felt clean and didn’t find any weird objects except for some hairs on the pillowcases (the staff helped us replace them).”

„We are very satisfied with our 4D3N stay here. The photos I shared are taken by yours truly. The room size is big for me and my mom. The staffs were nice and can speak English. I’m really sorry that I lost the baggage tag 😭😭😭 We will definitely stay here again and I’ll make sure to double check my things especially whenever I go out so I won’t lose anything again 🥹 I highly suggest adding bidet. That would be perfect if ever we comeback to Taichung next time! 😁 Just a heads up if you ever need to go out and the lobby door is locked, look on the right side of the door and there’s an instruction there haha no one told us about it and we end up using the back door to get out until the next day, the back door was also lock and good thing my mom noticed something on the right side of the door and when I pressed it, the door unlocked 🤣 it’s my first time to experience that for a 2 star hotel (according to google maps) so I really find that experience silly, embarrassing and unforgettable ~ 🥹 but the next time we come here, I know what to do 🤭”

„Excellent location, right across from Taichung Main Station. Safe place to stay, there’s a police post in the next building. Very convenient. Plenty of food and shops within walking distance. Amenities were solid. We had the quad room with attached bathroom, very clean and well kept. Housekeeping was included. Laundry area available for washing clothes. The kitchen was fully equipped and there were good study and living spaces for sharing. Great value for the price. Clean, convenient, and well set up. Highly recommended.”

„Very happy with my stay! The room was spacious and clean, and the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. I didn’t notice any noise issues, it was actually very peaceful. Location is great, with buses close by for easy travel.”
