The Bowmore House Bed and Breakfast ★★★★

"The three of us stayed at the Bowmore House for 4 nights as part of the Scottish Routes Islay Whisky Tour. Andrew and Alison were excellent hosts who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. The room we stayed in was spacious, very clean and provided a beautiful coastal view from the main window. The en-suite bathroom was also generously sized with a bath and shower provided along with the usual amenities you would expect. A particular highlight were the hearty and delicious Scottish breakfasts that we received from Alison every morning. These were cheerfully accompanied by a "breakfast dram" from Andrew, which along with his stories and knowledge about the island, kept our group thoroughly entertained. All of this set us up perfectly each day for our Islay whisky adventure! Could not recommend this place any more!"

"I dont really write reviews but i had to on this occasion. Me and my partner popped in for a drink during the week and was looked after by the wonderful kenny happy go lucky and very knowledgable about islay and gave us some tips on were to go. We enjoyed it that we went back for another drink later in the day only to be greeted by the most miserable bar person colin. It is like he doesnt want to be there. Very negitive attitude, no smile and swearing Safe to say we never finished our drinks . You have a real aset in kenny great for the hotel."

"Wspaniała centralna lokalizacja dla zwiedzania, psy są przyjazne, ale trzeba jeść w barze dla wszystkich posiłków. I chyba, że inni z psami, jesteś sam. Niektórzy lokalni wzywają do kawy itp. i przekazują handel w barze Katie's za to samo. Mieliśmy 2 noce w dużym/superior podwójny, który poczuł się trochę drogi, zaczynając się trochę zmęczyć i łazienka dość stara moda. Staff byli bardzo pomocni i uważni, mieliśmy problem z samochodem, młoda pani pracownik był super pomocny. Śniadanie próbowaliśmy pełnego angielskiego, kwaśnego avocado i jaj Florencji wszystko bardzo dobrze. Obiad miał wpakowany Kurczak i bas morski, obie smakowały świetnie, po prostu musiał wysłać jeden z powrotem, gdy było zimno i miał zły opcja ziemniaka na nim. Ładna kawa. Wspaniały mały sklep z ładnymi zapasami naprzeciwko drogi dla czegokolwiek potrzebujesz!"

"This is an extraordinary manor-like building in need of TLC. It’s a huge property that must be costly to maintain. We had a lovely room on the top floor with an amazing view, but the room needed some attention (caulking in the bathroom, new carpets, better venting). The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was excellent. I’d give it a 3.5 rating, but that’s not an option here."
