"We spent 2 wonderful nights at the Golden Sky Residence in a double mountain view room. Unfortunately the hotel were not expecting us and so there was a little confusion on our arrival. Kumia the owner however resolved the matter. The hotel was undergoing some renovations during our stay but we were never disturbed by any noise and it seemed we were the only guests on our floor, so this was great! The hotel is very clean and each floor has a communal area for filtered water and tea and coffee. The room was spacious and had everything you could need. Good WiFi as there is a router in each room. The hotel offers amazing views of the mountains which we enjoyed from the balcony each morning. We had breakfast on both mornings and was served Sri Lankan omelette, fresh fruit, fresh fruit juice and offered a wide selection of teas. On the second morning we had roti with dhal and coconut sambal which was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the best things about the hotel is the amazing views and the great staff. Kumia the owner was absolutely amazing and really ensures that guests receive a personal touch to the service. On our last day Kumia kindly arranged for a tuk tuk to take us to the train station. Imran was a very good driver and kindly brought us to a local shop in Kandy for us to buy some teas and spices. I would 100% recommend anyone to stay at the Golden Residence hotel if staying in Kandy. Yes it is a little far from the main town however that's easily fixed with a 10 minute tuk tuk ride. The hotel offers an amazing personalised service and breathtaking views which you won't get anywhere else."
