The bed and pillow were very uncomfortable and the ac noise high. If we turned off the ac room filled up with some rotten dead animal smell. It would be okay for lower price under 1. 5k but this is over priced"

"We booked a staycation at Taj Bekal (Deluxe Villa with Courtyard and Plunge Pool) with our 7-month-old daughter, expecting the celebrated Taj standard of hospitality we previously experienced at Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon. Unfortunately, this stay fell far short of 5-star expectations due to indifferent service, communication gaps, and an unwelcoming atmosphere. The Highlight: 1. Caring Dining Staff: The ladies at Backwaters Cafe during dinner were exceptional. They were attentive, warm, and lovingly engaged with our baby so we could dine peacefully. They represented true Taj hospitality. This was the only and the main good thing here. Cheers to these ladies. Key Service Lapses & Discrepancies: 1. Crib Coordination Failure & Unjustified Billing: We responded to the pre-arrival email in advance specifying our arrival time (12:00–1:00 PM), dietary preferences, and a request for a baby crib. Upon check-in, there was no crib in the room. The staff member who escorted us promised to send one but never did, forcing us to follow up with another attendant. Worse, our final invoice billed us INR 1,500 per night for an "Extra Bed" for an infant cot. Globally, baby cribs are standard complimentary amenities at luxury hotels, during our travels across 5-star properties in Malaysia (and even a 4-star hotel in Penang) with our daughter, cribs were always provided free of charge. Levying a nightly charge for an infant crib after failing to arrange it pre-arrival is unheard of for a luxury brand of Taj's stature. 2. Inattentive Buggy Service: While walking the vast property carrying our 7-month-old infant in the heat, empty buggies repeatedly passed us by to pick up adult guests without kids, with no staff proactively stopping to offer assistance. 3. Inattentive Breakfast Service: At Backwaters Cafe, a simple black coffee took 20 minutes to arrive on Day 1. On Day 2, our order was acknowledged with a "sure" but never delivered at all. 4. Passive-Aggressive Checkout Pressure: After staff confirmed checkout was strictly 12:00 PM, an unprompted bellboy arrived at our villa at 12:15 PM, ringing the bell to collect our luggage while we were packing up. Sending unrequested staff to pressure guests within 15 minutes of standard checkout is intrusive and completely contrary to the generous hospitality we experienced at Taj Goa (where a 4:00 PM late checkout was proactively offered based on our flight schedule). 5. Cold & Unwelcoming Demeanor: The overall staff demeanor, especially the front desk agent assisting at checkout, was sullen, indifferent, and lacked basic warmth or a welcoming smile. When guests pay luxury rates at a premium Taj villa, genuine warmth, proactive childcare consideration, and seamless communication are baseline expectations. Our babymoon staycation at Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon set such a high benchmark with its remarkable, out-of-the-way service and unforgettable hospitality, making the stark contrast and lack of warmth at Taj Bekal all the"
