Royal Lahaina Resort

"We recently stayed at Royal Lahaina Resort and overall had a decent experience, but there are definitely a few things future guests should know going in. The biggest positives were the location and views. The resort is right by the beach, and being able to walk directly onto Ka’anapali Beach was amazing. The pool and gym were also very nice and well maintained. We booked a partial ocean view room, and honestly the views were beautiful. we could see the ocean, golf course, mountains, one of the pools, and even the nightly performances from our room. That said, the rooms themselves felt a bit dated. The decor has a very old-school Hawaiian style with a lot of dark wood, which may appeal to some people, but it made the room feel older than expected. Housekeeping also didn’t change the sheets very often during our stay. One thing worth mentioning is the balcony setup. The balconies are quite small and close together, so privacy is limited. You can easily hear neighboring guests talking if they’re outside at the same time. The front desk/check-in experience was okay, but not the warmest or most welcoming compared to other resorts we’ve stayed at. Overall, I still think Royal Lahaina offers solid value for the location and beach access, especially compared to some of the more expensive resorts nearby. However, if updated rooms and being closer to Whalers Village are priorities for you, the OUTRIGGER may be worth considering instead."

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa

"We really enjoyed our family vacation here. It is about a 10 minute walk to Black rock where you can swim with turtles. The walk is easy and there is plenty of places to eat and drink along the way. The pool and facilities at the Hyatt are really nice. The animals including the birds are a nice touch and fun for kids."

Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Lahaina & Napili Towers

"When we decided to extend our vacation and fly over from Kauai we knew booking here, (having stayed here many times) we would not be disappointed...and we were not at all! Love this place, never stayed in this tower and I have to say - it was great...clean, nice views, and comfortable...the only downside was since its a vacation club being a lifetime Gold Elite member...means nothing really, point accumulation is good but no upgrades - but no biggie I didn't fly over to Maui to sit in the room! lol The main pool is the great, Hula show on Thursday, Happy Hour pricing on drinks, and Aloha Friday music both from 3-5 pm. Never did check out the adults only pool but it looks nice and peaceful and quiet. Great staff by the pool, in the bars, at the Bell Desk, and everywhere else...exactly what you would expect from a Marriott and more importantly that aloha spirit...Definitely enjoy a drink from the Lokelani Pool Bar, and the Beach Walk Kau Kau to Go - definitely worth a visit...and a short walk into Whaler's Village check out Leilani's on the Beach.......Mahalo and we will be back.."

"Hotels on Maui are generally more expensive than those in Honolulu. The surrounding area is a hotel district, the beaches are relatively clean and not crowded. The two-bedroom apartment is spacious, with a kitchen and basic cooking utensils and tableware. It also has a washer and dryer."
