"Second time for the Historique Laon weekend. What a shambles! Inadequate staff. No meal menu till the chef arrived at 5pm and a rip off Chicken and rice at 20Euros! Card key needed updating every day as it failed to work. Toilet wouldn't flush properly to take away waste! Breakfast queue unbelievable as coffee machine was in the middle of all the food and held everything up. We have already booked for next year up in the square in Laon. Cheaper and more amenities and a great breakfast! Plus loads of lovely restaurants like LE PECHE MIGNON Loads of others classic car drivers at the event thought it rubbish and wouldn't book again. Buyer beware!!"

"If you come to Laon, know that there is a hotel so horrible that I don't even want to use it as a prison. • The air conditioning is too loud. • A really hard mattress, the floor would be better. • A dripping noise coming from the room on the other side... • Lack of washing products. • A view that will make you argue if you come as a couple... • Only one socket... • A smell of cold tobacco that smells in the room. How can a hotel like this still exist? Really go elsewhere. Positive point: the copious breakfast at the Kyriad Express and the very professional welcome from the employees."

"Terrible hotel. We have stayed here for the last three years on a rally tour. This time was the worse. Starting with being allocated a twin room shoebox when we had clearly booked a double. The food on Friday was an embarrassment- chicken and rice for €20 was the only food on offer despite seeing other menus with cheaper prices. €17 for a beer and a coke, €41 for 3 beers - I could go on. Queued for over 10 mins just to get to the coffee machine at breakfast Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Everyday our room key failed and had to be reset. We are never returning."

"Comfortable, characterful room at a moderate price. Extremely helpful and welcoming reception staff. Sited in the centre of Laon’s old town with free parking nearby. Only drawback was there is no air-conditioning in the room we stayed in, though we didn’t need it as the temperature was cool for the time of year."

"A delightfully charming and old fashioned hotel, in the most charming, historic town. We spent the night there en route for the Channel Tunnel - very comfortable beds with well equipped bathrooms, and a delicious breakfast - and a very welcoming host (plus parking). Laon is well worth exploring (the cathedral is staggering) - we only had 1.5 hours in the morning before we had to set off for our train, but could have spent half a day-a whole day there. We will return."
