The entire guesthouse was empty except for the owner's younger brother, who was minding the shop, and an auntie who cooked. Meals were 80 yuan per person per meal, and they made whatever was available, with no fresh ingredients—everything was heated from the refrigerator. The shrimp was spoiled and sour, so we returned it on the spot. The braised pork with preserved vegetables was served cold and hard, barely heated in the microwave. The Qingming cake was also hastily heated and left to cool down by the time we ate it. In the mountain weather, it was almost zero or one degree Celsius, and the dinner was chilling. The room was extremely cold at night; the air conditioner was barely effective. The two elderly people tossed and turned all night, and even with the heater on in the middle of the night, it was still freezing. When they woke up in the morning, both of them, in their sixties, had icy hands and feet, saying they felt cold even while using the bathroom during the night. The other room was extremely hot, with the air conditioning and heater set to full blast, resulting in eight or nine bedbugs and bees swarming around the room all night. I barely slept a wink. The roof was overgrown with weeds, and the swimming pool was dry—completely different from the photos. The experience was terrible.
