"Charming manor house that is not at all prestigious. Pleasant setting with many activities on site. The swimming pool is ideal for children. The terrace is ideal for parents. The host is friendly and engaging and must have spent time doing all the work. So we come to the disadvantages of such a place. Many small details need to be reviewed to obtain a perfect copy and claim the score of 8.3 that was given to it. I would not say that everything is made of bits and pieces, but there are indeed plenty of details that can spoil a stay. Splinters in the foot because of the wood around the pool, doors that do not close, electrical system and haphazard plumbing and some rooms do not have shutters. What the owner has done is a titanic task... However, he should now focus on the finishing touches."

"I didn't experience the spa, but it seemed like it would have some unique hotel features. The rooms were indeed quite old, and the hallway lights flickered occasionally, which was a bit startling. However, although the rooms were old, they were still clean and tidy."

"What to say about this beautiful mansion/castle… It is a gorgeous building, with a gorgeous park, and gorgeous potential. But unfortunately I believe it is also a very difficult and expensive business for the owners to keep up with not only the style/deco, cleanliness of the amenities and labour charges for the service. The staff we met was really sweet and helpful to us, but surely overworked and multitasking at everything. I have plenty I could discuss here, there is so much that could be done to make this castle hotel experience as a premium one. But, am not the owner, I don’t have the responsibility and the stress of maintaining a HUGE place with limited revenue and forever overheads to deal with…. I’d like everyone here to think that when you are choosing to stay in a castle, and you pay only €160 a night, you cannot expect the results of a €350 one. So, yes, there are many things to improve at BelleFontaine, but please, do continue to stay there, dear Travellers, to allow the owners and their family members, to take care of their castle. "To tylko bajka, pełna radości, choć mieliśmy najtańszy pokój, to było wielkie przyjemność tu zostać. Łazienka jest piękna, materac i poduszki są super wygodne. Duża, ładna, ładna, przyjazna osoba, z przyjemnością wracałaby. Małe zniżki: mimo to byliśmy dwoma gościami, a włosy z klimatyzacją były jednym. Dobrze byłoby, gdyby tak było, zaoszczędzić na włosach."

"Convenient & cheap overnight stop with quick access back onto motorway yet quiet & calm. Shame about the restaurant side ! Arriving week day on way south told closed cos. chef on holiday ! 🫣 On return Saturday journey north arrived to be told restaurant not open weekends 😳 Restaurants open in outskirts of Alencon a 10 min drive."
