„The stay was comfortable. The staff is accommodative and welcoming. Location is a little far from railway station. 1.3km to be exact. So if you have more luggage then take hand rikshaw. Resort is beautiful. Greenery everywhere. Some rooms are too small. So go for delux rooms and not cottages. Food is ok. This being resort, 9% GST id applied on restaurant bill. So be mindful.”

„Radha's Cottage is a lovely retreat, very well located at the end of the road in Matheran. It's a simple place, furnished largely with period furniture. The food is outstanding - the best I've had in 6 weeks of traveling in India. For those who are unfamiliar with Matheran as I was, a couple pieces of information: - The ”toy train” runs very infrequently. Be sure to get a schedule if you plan to take it from the parking. - It's a 4.5km walk from the train station near the parking to Radha's. Don't believe the stationmaster if he tells you it's a 20 minute walk, it's an hour's walk. - It's still another 1.5km from the train station in the village to Radha's. If you've got a bag it's probably a good idea to get some help from a porter. - Sometimes the electricity goes out. When we stayed, these outages were brief, just a minute or 2. - Sometimes the water in the bathroom is dark brown. This surprised us one morning. It's dirt, and cleared during the course of the day.”

„This is a historically important location in Matheran.  Ratheesh and his business partner were so welcoming and helpful and the accommodation is so full of character. For a truly “green” and unique stay in a totally unique location, the Verandah in the Forest is absolutely a must. This is undoubtedly the place to stay in Matheran if you can get a room - would suggest booking early so as not to miss the chance to stay here - and is so much more than a hotel. Food was superb and because of the size and layout, never seemed busy. Quiet and relaxing stay.  As there’s no phone signal in Matheran Hill Station I’d suggest contacting Ratheesh before making the ascent to the hill station for location instructions. There is wi-fi at the Verandah in the Forest. ”

Kids play area, very hygienic and tasty breakfast with so many options to select with juice, tea, coffee.... Rooms are very big almost 300+ sqft area with balcony.. location is hardly 7-8 min walk from Matheran railway station ”
