Reserved the standard room for my relatives without breakfast for two nights and the feedback from the stay was excellent . The front desk officers were informative and attentive to all their requests during the stay . The facilities of the hotel were comprehensive where they greatly enjoyed the swimming pool with an awesome City and Sea view as the backdrop . The wide array of shopping and dining options offered by the adjoining mall were the extra bonuses ! All in all , a very enjoyable and relaxing staycation!! A big shoutout to the friendly staff of Meritz Hotel ! Keep up the big smile 😊!!!

Can you atleast do another aircond controller near the bed area. It will be an ease for guests to change the temperature. Its pretty tiresome to get up and walk to the controller to change temperature if its too cold or hot when lie down on the bed. I booked through agoda and request a lot such as high floor room, bath tub, sea view. Im surprised that they actually gave what i requested. Its a good stay. The toilet was clean.

Stayed at the Mega Hotel during the last trip. It is a 290 rooms, 4 star hotel situated at the centre of town. It is conveniently located near eateries, pubs and retail outlets. Check in was a breeze into spacious twin bedded corner room 329. Room is well appointed and furnished complete with most basic amenities. Morning breakfast is served at the Chatterbox Cafe . It has a wide spread of breakfast choices from western to local dishes. Breakfast is up to the culinary standard. Hotel has a curvilinear layout swimming pool on the 11th floor which offers breath-taking view of the city skyline day and night. Function Rooms and gymnasium are located on the 4th floor. Despite some noises disturbance from the Discotheque across the street, overall the hotel is well recommended due to its central location.

Just walking distance from Miri airport, this hotel is a real gem. The rooms are well-designed and well-lit (most hotel rooms are too dim for me), complete with ceiling fan so we could just open the window and enjoy natural air; and we loved the breakfast place with its high ceilings and good spread. Staff too are very nice; and special kudos to bell-boy/shuttle van driver Charles Ta. He was so nice and helpful (we were carrying a fair amount of baggage + two kids) - even getting us trolleys at the airport and, after all that, he graciously declined my tip saying he was just happy to do his job well. I hope the hotel management is reading this - please do compliment him.

Hello everyone, I took my wife mother and my 1 year old son to Meili for a holiday. The hotel is really beautiful with all kinds of modern facilities. The breakfast was quite good (although the three of us only gave 2 coupons). But the hotel facilities are quite good. The only problem is that there are few halal restaurants nearby. It would be best if renting a car here and parked at the hotel. (We rented for three days), other facilities are good. We prefer the cheap rooms so the rooms don’t have a good view (actually in the middle of the corridor.) Overall the experience was quite good.

Exceptional hospitality! First of all, there was 4 of us traveling. Two of our friends couldn’t make it to the trip. The rest of the two of us were given an upgrade to suite room!! Room was very clean, beautiful and everything we needed. We were so given a front entrance parking- which was amazing for us. Second of all, the staff are very helpful, friendly and accommodating. We appreciate the warm welcome, the complimentary drinks upon arrival and damp towel given for us to wipe- it makes us feel very royal lol! Overall, we want to thank the general manager and staff for the great experience and comfortable stay. Definitely looking forward to staying at this hotel next time. I highly recommend!

There is a mall next door and a hair dresser and nail salon within walking distance. It all depends at what price you got this hotel for. I got it under 40 dollars so no complaints in general . The hotel is very near to Canada Hill. The hotel has seen better days. Decent room with tv but no channels . No fridge. The Bath room has a washbasin and shower in the bath tub but no tap. There is no Comod shower which is a common thing in Asian hotels usually. Biggest problem is there are no good place to eat nearby . You have to walk at least 800 meters to get a food court . There are 2 convenience store bang opposite the hotel. The hotel staff is very poorly trained they have no idea about the neighbourhood and local sightseeing attractions. Do visit Coco Cabana and Canada Hill for view .

Pros (+) - Very affordable (family room with 2 beds is around $90+ RM) - Accessible location (you can easily walk to get to stalls and local eateries) Cons (-) - Hotel is really old & outdated - Room is unhygienic (Toilet smells like urine, Sink are clogged) - Poor maintenance on amenities (aircond takes a long while before fully functional) - Missing some basic features (iron, hot drinks, toothbrush etc) Verdict: If you are on a budget or does not plan to stay at the hotel for long periods of time, this hotel would be fine as it is very affordable and has good location if you plan to explore the city by walking. If you are looking for a comfortable stay or plan to stay in the hotel for long hours this hotel is not suitable for you as it has poorly maintained amenities and missing features as well as hygienic issues.

This little hotel served my purpose very well...initially booked 2 nights just to try it out but was satisfied with everything hence extended to 2 weeks stay lol (travel restriction due to COVID). Strategically located at Jalan Brooke, very easy to spot. Have their own convenient store at the lobby. Otherwise other 24hr mini mart also available behind the hotel. Places to eat & shop within 10 mins of walking distance. Single room is spacious compared to other inns/hotels within the same league. Daily housekeeping provided (cleanliness assured). Floor to ceiling windows provided natural lighting (very important otherwise it would be depressing). Internet connection most of the time quite fast, sometimes lag especially during night time. This is now my new port in Miri.

The hotel was next to a club and it was noisy all night. The room smelt like cigarettes. When I went into the bathroom there was only one towel. When I went down to get a another one the front desk person looked at me and said “yeah because it was raining we couldn’t get them dry.” finally after some time he came back from the back with a clean towel. The internet kept cutting in and out. When we went down to ask if the internet was working downstairs the front desk he said “yeah it happens all the time.”

The hotel doesnt look new, but quality of the room is exquisite. hospitality of the staff is outstanding. Will propose my friends and fmily to come here in the future for stay miri. If u book standard room, make sure to bring own toiletaries though.

It is a cheap budget hotel. I have never stayed in such hotel before and have no idea what to expect. So here are my feedback 1) Reception : Friendly 2) Room : First room smell of dead rat. Change room. Second room smells of SEWAGE 3) Towel : Only bath towel is given. No small hand towel given. And quality of towel is worse than my home ones. 4) Tissue : No tissue paper was given in the room. 5) Toilet roll : No extra spare ones too 6) Wifi : Generally connection is extremely bad. 7) Shower : As there was no shower screen, every shower means wetting the entire bathroom. Bad option. There was no toothbrush, room slippers, bathrobe, iron. etc . like i mention : Budget hotel. Do not expect too much.

The apartments are simple but have kitchenware, microwave facilities and a small fridge. The price of the room is reasonable and acceptable for a serviced apartment. It takes only 5 minutes to drive to Miri City from the apartment/hotel. A shopping mall (Merdeka Mall) is right next to the hotel/apartment, and there are many halal foods in the mall.

Having a room at the end of the hallway, would be better. - Wifi signal weak, if you are at the end of the hallway. Cons: - Staff on site, has poor customer service skills. So guest should pay attention to check what is in your hotel voucher, to avoid overpaying, Also remember to collect your deposit, don't rely on the staff to remember to do it. My experience: I stayed 1 night. There is a lack of onsite parking (4-5 car spaces that wouldn't risk blocking any cars parked at the back of the property). If you prefer not to risk being disturbed to move your car, and you either need to leave your car at limited space at front of the property (its a first come first serve basis), or make do with free on-street parking along the Jalan Setia Raja. As I was the first guest to check in for the day, I opted to just leave my car at 2pm till the next morning. I rearrange my day's plan: walk to Bintang plaza to spend my time there for the whole afternoon. Plan for a late dinner, using grab to the restaurant of my choice, before using Grab to return to the hotel and have an early night. I wasn't going to have to risk being left with free street parking option. During check out, I almost forgot to collect my deposit, receptionist didn't not issue receipt during check in ( and I forgot to request). During check out, receptionist also dont' remember to proactively return my deposit, I have to remind them. I also paid tax twice ( charged by agoda, then also charged by hotel receptionist), because hotel receptionist didn't check the booking details. After I left, I realize this mistake, so I called the hotel, left my contact number left with receptionist, as they needed to verify double charge. No follow up from hotel staff at all. Separately I reached out to Agoda about the double tax situation. Unfortunately the hotel owner also have communication breakdown from Agoda. Agoda provide the wrong contact info: Another hotel guest (same first and last name, different booking ID, different agoda account) to follow up with refund. It is by chance that the other hotel guest and I are acquainted, so the boss could finally contact the right person. It took about 5 days from the date of check out, until the hotel owner could contact me directly to make things right. He took note of the feedback between me and the other hotel guest's experience. Will I stay here again - it depends on what are my travel plans in the city & room price, but I will make sure I take precaution as the staff behavior wasn't acceptable. Hopefully by the time I

Decent room with tv but no channels . No fridge. The Bath room has a washbasin and shower in the bath tub but no tap. There is no Comod shower which is a common thing in Asian hotels usually. Biggest problem is there are no good place to eat nearby . You have to walk at least 800 meters to get a food court . There are 2 convenience store bang opposite the hotel. The hotel staff is very poorly trained they have no idea about the neighbourhood and local sightseeing attractions. Do visit Coco Cabana and Canada Hill for view .

Reserved the standard room for my relatives without breakfast for two nights and the feedback from the stay was excellent . The front desk officers were informative and attentive to all their requests during the stay . The facilities of the hotel were comprehensive where they greatly enjoyed the swimming pool with an awesome City and Sea view as the backdrop . The wide array of shopping and dining options offered by the adjoining mall were the extra bonuses ! All in all , a very enjoyable and relaxing staycation!! A big shoutout to the friendly staff of Meritz Hotel ! Keep up the big smile 😊!!!

My room was situated at Block B, Level 3. The parking space in front of the block was obstructed with flower pots and it is quite hard to maneuver car to do reverse parking in rainy nights that i experienced. The entrance was on higher ground and need to go up staircase to go to my room. The room kinda okay just the bathroom was abit dirty and smells moldy. The bed sheets smells okay. Aircon was super cold. TV also functioning well.

The hotel was next to a club and it was noisy all night. The room smelt like cigarettes. When I went into the bathroom there was only one towel. When I went down to get a another one the front desk person looked at me and said “yeah because it was raining we couldn’t get them dry.” finally after some time he came back from the back with a clean towel. The internet kept cutting in and out. When we went down to ask if the internet was working downstairs the front desk he said “yeah it happens all the time.”
