"Booked as a last minute deal as a couple through Jet2. Hotel has been refurbished and feels new. Overall good value for what we paid and we enjoyed it and the great weather, but glad it is not our only holiday this year. It was an experience though and beggars can’t be choosers. Good points Rooms, beds, shower all good. Go for a sea view or side sea view to avoid street view and building work in the next hotel Glad we Went HB as location not good for eating out as advised by others. Food at buffet is ok but repetitive (but we always find this so don’t normally do half board) Staff very nice and helpful. Location good for bus and golf course and small supermarket. Pools and sunbeds in abundance unless really full at weekends. Bus very good to get to beach or town/mojacar pueblo a must visit. Hotel very Spanish orientated and no english spoken at entertainment; ok for us but if you want the Brit abroad experience don’t come here. Areas that Could be better, Meal times at dinner are manic, especially at weekends when large spanish families arrive for breaks at the hotel. very Noisy, chaotic, difficult to get a table in the massive canteen and all times seem busy. Staff do their best. Pool area is dirty in places and floor not cleaned or swept while we were here for a week, so puddles of dirty water around sunbeds. (Hotel Management don’t seem to do walk arounds to pick up basics.) Beach next to hotel not the best so we caught bus into Mojacar town and found sheltered beach with good facilities. This is a hotel for Spanish families which uk families can easily join in, but not so much couples. Room Air con was just ok for when we went in temps of 25-30 degrees but not sure how it would cope at higher temps, controls in room but maybe they can turn it up centrally. Tips Go if you are a family and happy with 98% spanish in hotel great for kids with water Park next door. Go half board as nowhere to go unless in taxis. Buses finishes quite early so need taxis unless you eat early. Hotel can’t do much about the canteen experience so find somewhere else to eat at weekends to avoid the canteen chaos. Lovely meal at adjacent beach and a couple of other restaurants are around 20mins walk. You can swop the dinner for lunch if you want to go out at night."

"Booking was 4p 2nts x2 double rooms - was met with warm welcome a glass of cava and a room upgrade (booked standard room was given room w/ balcony) Had breakfast one morning very reasonably prised at 10e per person - full array of buffet hot, cold alot of selection. Hotel was spotless, all staff warm, welcoming - would definitely stay again.Many Thanks for great stay."

Servigroup Marina Playa ★★★★

"We thoroughly enjoyed 3 nights at Servigroup Mojácar Playa. All meals taken were excellent. We had full board and found dri ks in the restaurant to be of average price for a 4 star hotel. The pools were excellent especially the one that appeared to be salt water. Beautiful view up to Mojacar Pueblo from the very comfortable room that also had a Seaview. The restaurant was very well run by the first class restaurant manager and all his very pleasant staff. We enjoyed the Girasol sitting area in particular and all staff who worked in there at lunch and dinner were particularly friendly as were the girls who checked you in for meals. The housekeeping staff, pool staff and maintenence men all worked hard to keep place clean and tidy. The only thing we found better at the Marina Mar was the indoor leisure facilities and the bar at the side of the hotel had a bit more life than the beach bar at the Marina Playa. The entertainment in both hotels was geared towards children but that was not a problem but maybe a few activities geared towards adults would be good. Building work was going on at the hotel next door which was a bit off putting when we arrived but never really noticed it whilst in hotel itself. All and all a great stay and hope to return."

"If you're looking for a hotel with direct beach access from your room and don't want to spend a fortune, this place might seem ideal. But keep in mind that appearances can be deceiving. The hotel's facilities are so dated and rundown that they could be the subject of an episode of an '80s TV show. The walls are so thin that you could engage in conversation with your neighbors without raising your voice. And to top it all off, the bed has springs that make you feel like you're sleeping on a minefield. In short, this hotel is perfect if you love nostalgia and budget-friendly adventures, but if you value comfort and good maintenance, you'd better keep looking. P.S.: Not suitable for guests with reduced mobility."
