"Fantastyczny hotel z niesamowicie przyjaznym i uważnym personelem i naprawdę ekscytującymi widokami. Zostaliśmy na dwie noce, a wszystko było doskonałe od początku do końca. Pracownicy sprawili, że czuliśmy się naprawdę mile widziani i poszli ponad to, aby zapewnić nam wspaniały pobyt. Moja żona świętowała urodziny, gdy tam byliśmy, a hotel uczynił to niezapomnianym. Zaskoczyli ją pięknym ciasto urodzinowe, śpiewali szczęśliwe urodziny i urządzili nasz pokój z uroczymi dekoracjami urodzinowymi. To był taki przemyślany gest, który sprawił, że dzień był wyjątkowy. Z tarasu na dachu masz wspaniałe widoki na park narodowy. Na zachodzie słońca obserwowaliśmy dzikie słonie, osły i inne dzikie zwierzęta, cieszywszy się zimnym szkłem wina, a nasze dzieci uwielbiały ich smaczne mleczne trzęsy. Nie mogliśmy polecić tego hotelu wyżej. To było naprawdę niezapomniane doświadczenie i chętnie zostalibyśmy tutaj ponownie."

"Out of all the overnight stays we did in Sri Lanka this was one of our favourites and and it was also the cheapest. The grounds are immaculate, the pool is well maintained, the rooms are large, clean and functional with jungle views. It is 10 minutes from Udawalawe National Park! Best of all, the food was outstanding! Our whole stay for one night with breakfast & dinner was £62! I highly recommend"

"My family and I stayed one night at River Cottage after making an over the phone booking with the owner. Location was good and rooms were basic. Bathrooms had no privacy as they are separated by a wall with open space at the top and you can hear every single thing the guests next-door say and do. Also, the host does not have a backup power source in place and there was a power outage the next morning, so we had to wait for a few hours before the power got restored. There was no tea or coffee provided in the rooms and when we asked for a kettle to make our own tea the owner was reluctant to provide saying that it might attract 'Ants' to the rooms. However, at the end he agreed to give us hot water so we could use the outside area to prepare our tea. In addition to that, the owner promised us breakfast at LKR 500/- per person over the phone, but when the actual invoice was raised it was LKR 900/- pp. However, he fixed it afterwards. Also, there was a 10% service charge which he never mentioned on the phone but was added to the total bill. Therefore our overall experience was not a great one!!!"

"Boutique safari lodge owned by famous World Cup Sri Lankan cricketer Romesh Kaluwitharana. He is present at the hotel ensuring the guests are happy. He has created a relaxed and charming atmosphere with a cosy bar and restaurant. Two pools overlooking the river are a good size. They are growing their own organic fruits and vegetables which is served for all meals and there is a butterfly garden which is very enchanting. They are expanding so there is some new buildings that are being worked on but there was no noise or disturbances. Very friendly and welcoming. A great base for Uladawale NP."

"Wspaniałym wycieczkowym doświadczeniem, gdy pojechaliśmy do obozu o 9:00, a te 10 minut w cysternie gipsowej, czuliśmy się jakby sprzedane, a potem znaleźliśmy nowy kontynent, a my nie jedliśmy, ale smak BBQ był zwyczajny, ale przy jedzeniu było wiele małych zwierząt. Towarzyszu, łyżki są pełne gwiazd i czują się jak atmosfera."
Wild Glamping Gal Oya - Thema Collection
"Wild Glamping Gal Oya was our second Thema Group property (after Knuckles Wild Glamping), near the Gal Oya National Park which is centred around the 70 year old Senanayake reservoir. The resort features 5 family tents and 15 doubles, each under thatch or timber roof with heated showers and flush WC. The family tents have two rooms, and should sleep 4 comfortably. Alarm clocks are not needed as the local peacocks do an admirable job! There is mains power but no WiFi, and only intermittent mobile coverage so just lock away your phone and reconnect with life. The property has a generous pool with sunbeds, pool towels and sunshades, surrounded by lawn and next to the central bar and restaurant area and the reception. On arrival guests are allocated a host who looks after them, ours was Pathun, a trainee naturalist. He conducted our farm walk to introduce the concept - the property is part of a working farm, with both the local community and the indigenous Vedda people actively involved. We had family villa 15, which we think has the best position - set back (with 14) from the central facilities, with views over paddy fields and sunsets over Monkey Mountain. We undertook 4 activities - a boat safari, a jungle walk with the Vedda, a boat trip on the local village reservoir and a trek up Monkey Mountain, all of which Pathun accompanied us on. All were worthwhile, it's worth noting that the Monkey Mountainm trek is quite demanding and requires a certain level of fitness, but the views are stunning. The staff were all welcoming and friendly, and we must make special mention of Pravithra, who seemed to be everywhere from the bar, restaurant to the spa (great ayurvedic massage!), and the kitchen team who produced a wonderful range of dishes. WGG is a wonderful resort for a 3-4 day escape, with or without family."

The food was delicious, especially the traditional Sri Lankan dishes. Perfect for large groups with its smart layout. Highly recommend for a relaxing, green getaway!"

"Excellent stay with wonderful hosts who went above and beyond; they even provided a packed breakfast with coffee for our 5AM morning safari and a cooked breakfast when we returned. Dinner was excellent and so plentiful! The rooms were brand-new, spotlessly clean, and had everything you needed, including nice linen. The location is perfect—only 15 minutes from the Katagamuwa entrance to Block 1, which was great as it wasn’t too busy!"
