"Good location with a room that’s slightly more spacious than a typical business hotel. The area feels safe for walking around at night. A nice bonus is the discounted onsen access at their sister hotel for just ¥600. Simply show your room key card to enjoy it! They also provide a light Japanese breakfast buffet from 7am to 9am. I was pleasantly surprised to find pork curry rice! Bread, milk and cereals. **One small downside:** There’s no full-length mirror in the room, although there is one in the elevator. Overall, a comfortable stay with convenient access to nearby attractions and a quiet, restful night. I also like that you can choose between daily room cleaning or simply having your towels replaced every day."

"This was my first time staying at a hotel with such attentive service. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a dedicated staff member, perfect for relaxing and absorbing the atmosphere. The hotel's dinner and breakfast were exquisitely prepared; the tableware and presentation were more beautiful than any painting. Dinner even included a song request, creating a superb atmosphere. The room design was stunning, situated on a high floor with floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking panoramic views. Perhaps because it was the off-season, I felt it was an absolute steal. The designer enthusiastically introduced his ultimate design during dinner, highlighting the high ceilings and the exceptional comfort of the bedding."

"This was my first time staying at Asaya Hotel, and I booked a valley-side room in the Shuho-kan wing. While the hotel itself felt a bit dated and the room had a slight musty smell, it was impeccably clean, which made for a comfortable stay. There was just one major drawback. The 'valley-side' of the Shuho-kan wing, unbeknownst to me, faces the direction where several well-known abandoned hotels in Kinugawa Onsen are located. When I looked out from the balcony, I was met with the sight of a truly eerie abandoned hotel. To be frank, the view was far from pleasant and quite unsettling. It was genuinely frightening. Even from the onsen windows, those abandoned hotels were clearly visible, making the nights feel particularly eerie and scary. Aside from that, everything else was great; the buffet was thoroughly satisfying, and the service was excellent."

"I want to thank hosts of Akari no yado personally. The hosts were nice and worked really hard to feel ourselves at home. The place was clean and the common room was big and comfortable. Bathroom was old fashioned but if you want modern bathrooms you were able to use the bath house for showers and toilets in the common area. Breakfast is made of pastries and all I had was pretty delicious. You can also have marmalade and margarine with breakfast pastries and there are drinks (tea/coffee/milk/juice) to choose from. We checked out early and hosts prepared our breakfast to go even if it wasn’t breakfast time yet. They even drove us to the station when we asked if they would be able to call us a taxi! Bath house was spacious with two different baths. System is easy and we were able to use it whenever we wanted (between 16.00-23.00 of course). They are giving free rental yukatas and they were so comfy. They also have guides everywhere to help you (our room even had a guide on how to prepare a futon bed!) the place felt like we were part of a family and that was the most amazing part for me. I even got teary eyed when it was time to go. Thank you Akari no yado! Hope to see you soon again!"
