Stayed here for 2 nights and my stay was perfect. I like the location on the west side of town, easy drive to retail and restaurants. They were able to check me in early, the pool/hottub area is nice and the breakfast buffet is outstanding. They had fruit, cereal, eggs, variety of breads, waffles, yogurt and juices. The room was what you would expect, small fridge and microwave. Everything worked as expected. I was very pleased overall.

It was okay except there was a roach in the room but other than that I slept okay

I wish I had more nice things to say about our visit to Rosen Shingle Creek. Overall it was a nice stay, but little negatives piled up throughout, resulting in this average review. I brought my family along with me for a very large conference being held at the Orlando Convention Center, and the RSC was an official conference hotel, so many attendees were staying here. PROS . The staff! Overall, wonderful, friendly, engaging and responsive. Shout out to Heather and Mike at the Cat-Tails bar and poolside service. We had an Amazon Fresh order scheduled (there is a small fridge in the room) and the bell stand delivered it within 5 minutes of us requesting it. My mom and niece were also staying at the hotel, and the front desk attendant thoughtfully placed our rooms right next to each other. . Conference management. We had a great conference rate and the acknowledgment of our (significant) presence was thoughtful. Overall, the team was well prepared for several hundred attendees moving around the property. CONS . Rooms NOT that family friendly. I have a real issue with hotel bathroom designs that aren’t accessible for kids. I had to drag the ottoman into the bathroom area so my youngest could reach the sink. A huge leather ottoman in the bathroom is not ideal. . Substandard housekeeping. I asked for laundry bags from our service provider and was told they weren’t available. She pressured us out of our room one day saying she was trying to finish her shift early and upset my niece to the point of tears. Another morning, we had privacy lock and sign on and they were knocking at 8:30 to come in. It all felt very disconnected. . The Food. The biggest disappointment was that a resort this size, and a Universal Studios property, was such a let-down when it came to food. If you have any food allergy whatsoever, don’t stay here. The RSC makes little to no accommodation for food allergy or intolerance, which is very surprising in this day and age. My husband is celiac and other than FRENCH FRIES and VEGETABLES was extremely restricted in his food options. Only one restaurant was able to offer him gluten free bread for a burger. Food allergies are more and more common, it is unreasonable that RSC was lacking in its accommodations. In comparison to Disney properties where almost anything can be accommodated for food allergies, it was a glaring difference. Food options for children were also limited and unhealthy. After three days of eating cereal, French fries, and cardboard pizza, my kids were desperate for a freaking hot dog. None of the seven restaurants offered such a thing, but I was told they were available at the golf course snack stand. So I walk all the way out there to get three hot dogs and they were…sold out of hot dogs. Our Amazon Fresh delivery was a godsend, and there’s a Publix market at the end of the (very long) resort drive. . Universal partner means what?? This is a brand-new hotel in a stunning location which should be great. Instead, my family and I had a truly terrible experience from the first moment there. Don't stay at this property unless you're prepared to deal with frustration and disappointment. The hotel was nowhere close to full during our mid-week stay, yet our rooms were not ready at check-in, and the staff rudely evaded my questions about when we'd be able to have access. (This isn't a small matter when you're trying to manage increasingly tired and frustrated kids.) The property advertises an ”arrivals/departures lounge” where you can change/shower/etc. before you check-in or after you check-out, but it wasn't ready during our stay. (Of course, there wasn't anything to indicate that it wasn't open yet, and the doors were unlocked. I only figured out that it wasn't open when I tried to use the lockers inside and asked a pool attendant why the lockers weren't working.) Once we finally had access to our connecting rooms, they were a major disappointment, both in quality and layout. The connecting doors were on springs that automatically, so we had to jam bath towels in the doors to keep them open. (What's the point of having a connecting room for kids if the doors to the parents' room automatically close?) The quality of the furnishings and hardware in the room is far below what you'd expect on a property that advertises itself as a luxury resort. The vinyl flooring was not installed properly and was bubbling up at the connecting doors. The button to toggle between bath and shower operation fell off when I grazed it with my hand. There was still painter's tape all over the inside of the connecting doors -- nobody had bothered to take it off. Quality control was non-existent. Perhaps more importantly, it seems like nobody put much thought into getting the details right at this place. The only trash can in the bathrooms is tucked into the commode -- there isn't one near the sink, where it's needed most. In two bed rooms, there's a large circular table in the middle of the room between two beds, which is easy to trip on when the room is dark and impedes the flow of the room. The lobby and front entrance to the property is on the third floor -- but there's no sign in the elevators telling you that, and only the first floor is marked with a star (which, of course, usually denotes the building's main exit.) The service was no better. In the morning, we had an early reservation for a Disney breakfast, so I tried to call down twice to have the valet bring our car to the front. The hotel's phones weren't working. I tried calling the front desk from my cell phone -- still, not working. We then went downstairs and told valet in person to bring our car around, and we had to wait several minutes for it. In the meantime, I told the front desk attendant that the phones weren't working, both on the inside phones and when calling from my cell phone. He dismissively told me t

Double trees always a nice hotel to stay at and the free cookies and check in or whenever you ask are always a delightful treat. For this day we found that there was really nothing around the hotel itself as far as other restaurant choices although it’s very close to universal and they have a shuttle bus which was convenient, we ended up moving to a location nearby that had many more restaurants around, the rooms were clean the pool areas. Nice the restaurants food was good although a little pricey if you would like to use the pool areas, I think this could be an excellent choice.

Stayed here again and really like the top floor of this hotel. We booked 6 months in advance direct with the hotel for 15 nights and got a long term room rate. we have stayed before as i said so no surprises expected. Day of arrival: Arrived late and expected top floor with city view King Bed. (Which we booked and paid for). We would have liked park view but we where turned down a few times by phone before we arrived. We where told once we gave the name that we had a hi room not top floor as they where ”first come first served”. i said we had booked a top floor king room to which the lady behind the counter said there was a ”first come first served” policy again! My wife was not happy as we had booked and paid for this direct and had an email to prove the fact and was about to lose all reason, Then a lady called Jess stepped in to sort the situation out. Jess did a bit of running around the building and came back with the room we requested, if management are reading this Jess sorted this out very quickly and very professionally give the Lady a raise. The room 2110 had great views of some of the parks in the distance, disney / epcot / volcano bay, fire works every night at 10pm. Also a great place to watch the evening storms come in. Fridge and microwave, water comp, tea and coffee faculties also. Very clean, i credit this to our room service Lady Cathrine who was very attentive to our needs over the two weeks. Again this lady deserves a raise. The pool bar Its fine, they dont bother pouring your drink if you buy for instance a coors light, it comes in a can and unless you as for it you usually dont get a plastic cup with it. (Strange) no table service in the pool area. there food consists of Pizza (no bad to be fair) nachos, turkey sub etc, staff seem more interested in watching the NFL on the 3 screens than attending customers, not a great place to relax after a long day in the parks. needs a little push. Very clean area. Small bug bears: One chair in the room and one office chair, if you want to relax in the room you have to use these two seats, i did ask the front desk early on for a second chair for the room but they said there is only one chair per room. funny like i said we have stayed here previously and the rooms did come with two chairs and a coffee table. the man behind reception said he would look into getting another one but never bothered to come back to us. some of the staff behind the reception are pure cannon fodder and some do excel at the job they have been given. The area Universal has opened up there two hotels across the road which is a welcome sight after they shut down wet and wild a few years ago. The area between kirkman and the Mcdonalds further down the road has really suffered with covid, lot of places shut down and others wanting for staff. the usual food and shops available locally, Red lobster, KFC, applebees, dennys, subway, and other junk food out lets to destroy your digestive sys

I was very pleasantly surprised with my experience as my first ever Marriot Bonvoy benefits. I'll start by saying my first impression was ”clean”. It's spacious so you don't feel crowed either in the lobby, the coffee bar (which is loaded and include Italian Creme for your coffee!), the hallways, etc. Speaking of the hallways, I ventured out just for coffee around 6:15 and the space outside of the room was a very cozy temperature. Perfect for those just rolling out of bed to muster enough energy to go for coffee. There is coffee in the room but fresh coffee is worth the short walk. The key card is perfect - no need to insert. It's a touch screen. There are multiple options for lighting - my favorite is the dimmable lights above the bed so that in the AM, you don't have to wish for more light or squint from too much light. All and all a very comfortable stay. I don't come to Clermont often but when I come back, I'll be sure to stay here. Clermont is a very beautiful city and surprisingly, there is elevation here! If you're form Florida, you know that in it of itself is special. :)

When we first tried to check in there was a problem with the system as several of my credit cards didn't work even though they were all good. This was for a deposit. The woman who checked us in was very nice. One card finally worked. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The next morning and every morning the breakfast was very good. We were staying here to go to Daytona International Speedway two days in a row. I found that although it is the Orlando area it is still cheaper than staying closer to Daytona. It is only an hour drive to Daytona from there. The first night we returned to the hotel about 3:30AM and found that our room door was not closed all the way and therefore unlocked. I called the desk right away to report it. Luckily nothing was missing. The next day we went back to the track (Saturday). Upon returning that night just before midnight we found our key cards didn't work. We went around to the front door. The inside door was locked, I couldn't see anyone at the desk and there was no sign directing you to the intercom on wall which I didn't notice. I tapped on door. My wife noticed the intercom after that. The woman at the desk spoke to us through it. I told her our key cards were not working. She asked if we were staying there after that. I said yes. She let us in and blamed us for the card problem because my wife put her phone on the desk saying we put the cards by our phones. I pointed out that my card was in my wallet and no where near my phone. She gave us new cards. She was very rude in my opinion. When we got to our room it was not made up with no towels replaced. We checked out the next morning.
