Parador de Olite ★★★

"Be careful about when you stay. Firstly, parking is not easy anyway. You have 20mins to book in and unload and then find a free parking space outside the town walls. BUT if you inadvertently book the weekend in August when the Medieval Fair is on then even that is impossible and finding a parking space is a nightmare. Be prepared to arrive early and pack just an overnight bag. And the place is heaving with visitors. Other than that the Paradore is ok. Suggest going for an earlier breakfast slot as staff seemed overwhelmed by 9am and food selection needed renewing. Lift seems to have a mind of it's own - v. slow. Take note of times when cafe WILL serve food. They're linked to restaurant. And I really needed a cup of tea first thing on waking up but had to try and explain to breakfast staff how to make acceptable English Breakfast Tea without hot milk. Olite is an interesting place historically and I'm glad we stayed there but with some reservations!"

"This is a lovely hotel right in the centre of the old town. The rooms are lovely well appointed and comfortable.  The restaurant in the hotel is atmospheric with great Spanish food.  Breakfast is continental, but good quality.  The staff are lovely - helpful and friendly Near by free car parking 2 minutes away There is a great roof top terrace"
