"There’s nothing that really stands out about this hotel… except for the young man at reception who efficiently, politely and promptly dealt with my problem with the room safe and then a problem with a blocked loo. (The latter requiring a room move to one just along the corridor. He was great! Other than that it’s a hotel that does the job of receiving, feeding and sending guests on their way with a minimum of fuss. We ate out on the first evening and in the restaurant the second. Food was fine as was breakfast. No idea how it compares with others in time… good enough for me"

"We can’t say enough good things about this family run guest house. We got in touch with them because we wanted help arranging tours to the Plain of Jars, bomb craters, and the Hmong and Spoon villages. But especially because we needed help getting to Long Thien, the former secret CIA airbase which used to be the world’s busiest airport during the Vietnam war with a flight taking off every 8 minutes. It’s usually only visited by motorcyclists as the roads are so bad, but Mr. Abay and his father agreed to drive us in a comfortable Toyota Hilux from their guesthouse all the way to Vientiane via Long Thien and Xaysomboun. (We are glad to have made the trip, but would recommend driving from Phonsanvan to Long Thien and back and then flying or driving to Vientiane on better roads rather than attempt Long Thien to Vientiane.) They both drive very safely and Mr. Abay knows a lot about the Plain of Jars and gives good tours. Mr. Abay even took the trouble to personally check out the guesthouse we had asked him to book for us in Long Thien and familiarize himself on where our hotel in Vientiane was. He really went the extra mile for us. The family guest house is spotlessly clean with good hot water and WIFI. It’s quiet and the rooms are spacious with a comfortable bed. The room rate includes breakfast which is freshly cooked and has fresh fruits. Mr. Abay is scrupulously honest and the rates he charges are very fair. You won’t find a better base for a visit to the Plain of Jars and Long Thien (Long Chen)."

"Royal Room 70 kwadratów był przystojny z pięknym widokiem na zachód i ogromnym oknem na podłogę. W pokoju było ogromne zaopatrzenie butelek z wodą, co było bardzo wygodne - nie trzeba było prosić, pod warunkiem, że nie potrzebowaliśmy sprzątania codziennie. Na śniadanie było szwedzki stolik z normalnym wyborem, a mycie było gotowe w ciągu dnia. Dla tych, którzy tu przybyli, zaleca się wziąć tuck-tuck, które zwykle stoją wzdłuż drogi, ale zapytać o cenę kilku, to ta sama podróż, może kosztować dwa razy taniej. Wynajem bików jest ograniczony do 3-4 punktów, wybór jest niski."

"The hotel has a lovely location, with view over small farms and houses to the hills beyond. It is a motel style hotel, semidetached chalet style rooms & suites. Our suite was clean & had lounge, balcony (to watch the sunset), bedroom with a large kingsize bed, tea area & ensuite shower room. Our stay was very pleasant, sad it was only for one night. Breakfast was included (the baguettes were excellent) & the hotel has an evening restaurant, where we enjoyed three Lao dishes, steamed rice and BeerLao. Lovely staff, pleased to help with any request."

"I'm so glad I stayed here! The hospitality was incredible. I was a little worried about Xieng Khuang because there's not much information about it online, but I felt completely at ease. The owner, David, was incredibly attentive and gave me all sorts of information about the surrounding area. The room was clean, even for someone as particular as meticulous as a Japanese person. The shower pressure and temperature were consistently good, which was fantastic. I asked about motorbike rental and airport transfers via messenger beforehand, and they responded quickly and resolved my issues immediately. When I realized I'd left something in my room at the airport before leaving, I messaged them, and they responded right away. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Thank you so much!"
