Having stayed several times at the Auberge du Jeu de Paume we were not disappointed with our latest visit. The welcome was its usual rapid and very friendly self, and one immediately gets the feeling of being at home. The hotel is very well sited for cultural and sporting events- the Chateau is just along the road and the racecourse right opposite with easy airport and motorway access. The room was beautifully presented with a large terrace overlooking the immaculate grounds. Dinner in the gastronomic restaurant was a little under par but still good. The new chef-until recently the No2 I believe- is still to find his way and some of the flavours were confused and seemed to be added for effect rather than being helpful. The white asparagus was excellent but the lamb was disappointing, consisting of a small finger of lamb with a very thick coating of fat. Hopefully the chef will find his own way soon. However highly recommended and we will be back for sure.

Our theory is always end a trip on a high note: this is it for us. In France for 7 days to scout sites for our wedding. Paris to Autun back to Paris. This place is a vacation. Bellman, front desk, servers, its all great. Food is great. 9 / 10 breakfast. Paris in July is a real treat. Close enough to go back into Paris for shopping. we are from the Midwest and can only take so much of downttown Paris so this is a perfect home base for relaxation -- food and drink. The Rooms are incredible. The elevator is terrifying but effective. Go here. I will never visit France again without staying here.

Perfect location. The bikes are free to take out. Magnificent building. Staff are so attention and food is great. The pool is super offering fresh water. We loved it so much we booked an extra night. Close to Paris on train but in beautiful surroundings away from the noise. We are recommending to friends and family and we will be booking to come back. The room is clean with lovely crisp white hotel sheets, with gowns and slippers and all the extras. An amazing retreat.

This hotel on the outskirts of town but handy for Decathlon and a huge Carrefour is a converted Mercure, so its rooms are larger than the usual for Styles . Recently done up it has a fresh, clean feel in whites and greys ; the breakfast buffet is excellent with loads of choice including fresh fruit . We didn’t eat in the restaurant but it looked good . Friendly staff. Only complaint , as with so many Ibis is that in spite of the control switch you can’t change the temperature in the room . You can open he window though . Comfy bed , good blackout and total sound insulation make for a good nights sleep. Also welcome and probably inherited from the Mercure layout : bathtub.

Stayed here as a base for the Somme battlefields, the room was comfy, clean and in good condition. All the staff were helpful and you have the advantage of a EV charging station and restaurant in the car park, parking is free. My one concern is at breakfast some of the staff had the habit of moving cutlery from table to table, even after people had been sat there. Not very good in this current climate, I would stay there again if in the area.

Situated on a WW1 battle field, Château de Couin is a beautiful, restored 18th-century chateau that is now a B&B surrounded by a 6-hectare park. It offers rooms and suites with views of the garden and a daily breakfast service of local and regional products. All of the accommodation is en suite, with some rooms equipped with a bathtub. Some rooms also have a fireplace and free Wi-Fi. Regional and local cuisine is served in the chateau’s dining room upon advance request. We chose this hotel from the reviews and it did not disappoint. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and recieved the same warmth and friendliness throughout our three day stay. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. There was plenty of choice with the buffet continental breakfast and everything was always very fresh. We were lucky enough to park behind the hotel in their gated carpark. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby to save your travelling up to the old town.
